I've just watched this episode as we are way behind in the UK

anyway, let's hope for poor Amy that she really comes to her senses and realises that she'll never be happy with Sheldon. His emotional illiteracy is crippling

The poor girl could do much better

Seriously?

Thank goodness you don't work for the show.

How was your reception Nograv (hoping for an answer that does not involve picture & sound quality)?

Aside from the ridiculousness of Leonard's stupid confession...? I laughed at little bits spontaneously throughout. "I'm free tonight... " was adorable and I'm sure L/P will be fine, eventually. I'm not expecting the completion of their mission to Vegas. Way too much joy sucked out of the moment. Contrived. Still, great acting from Ms C-S in the car. I appreciated the Shamy pathos. Sheldon looked sad and the close was nicely sharply cut. Again, an un-heralded asteroid from space, but then hey, Amy is about 3 years late in stiffening her backbone. IMHO.

Curious about s9, but not sure, unless the broadcasters extract their heads from their fundaments, that I'll be able to play the fanboi as keenly going forward. Other more immediate pleasures are available too. So - onwards! On a six week delay.

Cheers

Nog

Edit: Still chuckling about getting the powers of a goat hehe.

Did anybody else think Leonard's face in the car suggested that he hadn't told everything? Maybe he told the truth about its being just a kiss, but lied about its being a girl?'...Maybe not. L&P can't marry till the end of the whole series, unless it turns into another dull sitcom of married life. They need to keep up some uncertainty.

I think some rather obvious Sheldon logic has been missed. If he has in fact decided to spend his life with Amy, then if he commits to this TV series he's going to be watching it still when they're living together, ie on their time. So he needs Amy's agreement before he commits to it. Sheldon would think that was to obvious to need pointing out to Amy.

I'd like Penny to return alone and unmarried to the apartment block for a treat of Penny-Sheldon chemistry, but I guess that isn't going to happen.

What would he have kissed otherwise? An octopus?

Besides.. I do hope and think he kissed a woman not a girl.[emoji1]

Did anyone else notice that, when Amy went to break the kiss, Sheldon followed her head down, as though he was desperate not to stop kissing her?

Heheheh, I even caught that.  It looks like Sheldon does have hormones.

One could  think that is counter indicated by the comment about the flash. As always the inner life of Sheldon is a little obscure. Perhaps The flash came to mind because he was actually enjoying the kiss and The Flash is one of his favorite things?

Maybe it's an old topic ... if so, sorry. I have recently watched the TNG episode "In Theory". Data has a love affair in this episode which ends with a breakup. (S04E25) Does someone know wheather "The Commitment Determination" is a writers reference to TNG? There are some similar aspects between both episodes and Data is Sheldons favourite Star Trek character. Thx. :icon_surprised:

and her breakup :scratchhead:

You may say you know it's a TV Show, but you seam to be forgetting the economics of it being a TV show. Adding one of those single people from the university costs money. Since we know Mayim isn't going anywhere through season ten(see the interviews by her and Steve Molaro) and Jim is signed through, at least that long, I don't see them separating them, just based on the cost of adding another member to the cast, when they've already got a couple that the majority of people happen to like. Not to mention, the producers of the show continually mention they like writing for the couple. So, feel free to rant, just don't expect changes.

only trying to get in the mind and motivation of the character

not the producers and management of the show

cannot believe that after spending one afternoon with Sheldon she decised she wants to get back with him and he again shows zero emotional intelligence or empathy

Ok, I don’t wanna start any arguments or belittle your opinion but he literally says why he didn’t want to get back together, it wasn’t because he was being an emotionless person it was because the break up was hard on him and he didn’t want to get together so quickly, he thought that he still needed time after his heartbreak, he wasn’t ready he thought that he still needed time he wasn’t trying to hurt her and like Penny said he loves her and would never hurt her on purpose, he was even sad from the break up because he thought he wouldn’t get back together, I will qoute him here:

“Amy I excel at many things but getting over you wasn’t one of them, I think I should just remain your friend”

Because If he knew that it would hurt her who knows what he would do, yes he might do the same thing but he would at least try to soften the blow

I think thats all I have to say
