The interaction with Sheldon was pretty funny, but in the ending it seemed like they were trying to keep the "on again/off again" thing going that IMO ended years ago. BangerMain Posted May 8, 2015 Share Posted May 8, 2015 (edited) This finale seemed to want to address most of the fan complaints about season 8. - Raj has been uncomfortable with Emily all season and there appeared to be no way he would have the confidence to actually break up with her. - Howard and Bernie finally tried to put Stuart out. - Leonard and Penny decided to address the lack of wedding planning since their engagement. - Amy ran out of patience with Sheldon. Of the four threads the L/P "cliffhanger" was so weak that the writers correctly had Penny ask Leonard why he would bring up such a meaningless thing now. nickelette424 Posted May 8, 2015 Share Posted May 8, 2015 Well be a long summer for Shamy Leonard confession was not as bad as everybody feared they are still headed to Vegas I still don't think they will marry in Vegas maybe they will to really live together and Leonard moves completely out of 4A and Raj is staying in a relationship out of fear can't wait for season 9 I actually go back to my initial reaction to the Leonard confession. He was unfaithful. I backed off because it was said that he said the girl kissed him and he stopped it immediately, but that's not what happened. If Penny can get past it, god for her. But this was still a big deal and I really don't like how I feel about Leonard right now. I hurt for Penny right now. The Shamy scene was beautifully done by Jim and Mayim, but just heartbreaking. Thanks writers, nice way to finish off a season. Gotta agree. Boo Leonard. He goes from being a doormat to Penny in the early seasons to being a jerk now. I am the first to admit that I am no expert at relationships but I do believe some things are better left unshared, and he should have never told her. And I predict the big wedding is going to be delayed until the last minute of the last episode of the last season, whenever the heck that happens. Although, as I have commented before, I see little evidence of any romance in "Lenny" this season... maybe not even last season, either. I think it kind all ended after the famous goodbye scene at the end of Season 6. Hey, maybe they will break up and there never will be "beautiful and smart babies." That'd be a left turn, huh? May I also say that I am so over these season-ending cliffhangers - so many shows do them and then make us wait 5 months to see what happens next. Enough already. I was so certain Leonard would say that the kiss wasn't consensual and the female grabbed and kissed him because she was drunk. The kiss being consensual doesn't sit well with me. I still enjoy the Leonard character, I just don't like how he was portrayed in season 8. Howardette with Stuart was okay, but it's time for him to leave the nest. I hope next season Stuart can move out and Howardette can start with renovations on the house. Maybe when they start to discuss what they will do with the bedrooms, the topic of starting a family come up. I really wanted Raj and Emily to work out, but it seems as if Raj is only with her because he's afraid to say no and afraid to be alone again. But my heart broke a little over Sheldon and goddamn you Parsons for being so freaking awesome!!! I am baffled by how they treated Lenny. What the actual fuck? Why did they need to put drama on their relationship again? It was going great! I honestly cannot believe that after years of Leonard pining for Penny, he just kisses some smoking lady while away at work, right after Penny FINALLY tells him she loves him. I am beyond pissed. I think that this is a way to point at some of the things we've all been talking about, as someone pointed out earlier. I think that the Lenny and Shamy developments are important, but not tragic. It seems obvious that they weren't going to have Leonard and Penny just run off and marry in Vegas (off screen) and miss out on whatever wedding mayhem they can enjoy with the whole cast. I'm sure that the eventual wedding will be at least as cute and sweet as the Howardette wedding. But as Sheldon started questioning them about it, they acted on a whim, even though they were talking about having a traditional ceremony. But there had to be a reason for them to NOT get married, since that wouldn't be as interesting as having the whole gang participate. I do suppose, that S9 could open with them in Vegas, that night or the next morning, trying to resolve the issue, maybe deciding to wait until they've cooled off or whatever. And with Sheldon and Amy, I think it gives them the opportunity to talk about the progress of their relationship, what Sheldon really thinks and what his priorities are. I think it's good if Sheldon has to think seriously about the relationship and what he really wants out of it. I hope they don't have him proposing right away, but I think that the ring is an interesting and important development. I don't think he would have run out and bought it in the 24 hours between their date night and the Skype call, so it's something he has been thinking about. We just don't know exactly how. Leonard cheating on Penny. Really? penny should be pissed. I still think there's more to the story on what happened on the boat than was told tonight. I think season 9 will give more of an explanation why. people don't like Emily because of her creepiness and I understand that. But what I have seen from her is she's always been honest with Raj. Even at the comic book she was putting back the lamp and he relented. I think he shouldn't back down to her and do what she wants. I think he can get her do what he wants if he tried. If she doesn't then he should break up with her. The Shamy situation was just way overdramatic. To me painful to watch during the tag. everything's going fine and then a break up? I can agree that it would have made sense to have Amy take a step back in previous seasons. Maybe, Sheldon thinking of the flash during their make out when his focus should have been on her (especially during their 5 year anniversary) was the final straw...who knows, but she said step back, not a break. Amy just needs time to reevaluate her situation, which she is entitled to. All will be revealed next season. Leonard cheating on Penny was actually shocking to me and the way Penny looked at the end of the car scene was so sad. Although the fact that Amy needs to reevaluate her relationship is breaking my heart (for both of them), I do think they needed this. I felt this was coming for Shamy since season 7, so lets hope they can have a serious talk and work at their relationship together. Regarding Lenny, I think they should reevalute their relationship too, they aren't ready to get married. They need to get everything out, talk about it and then give each other enough time to process it all. Finally Raj and Emily need to end it. You mean like when he left last season without considering her feelings, "You got an 8.2 trust me you're happy.", not letting her have a panic attack on his bed, filling out a mars app without telling her OR considering her feelings, and HIM not considering what their fifth anniversary means to her. While YES Sheldon has done some great things this season in regards to his relationship with Amy, lets not kid ourselves into thinking that Amy hasn't been put through the ringer this year. When? When has Leonard only told half-truths to Penny when it came time for him to confess things? Also lets be real in that Penny has made her fair share of drunk mistakes too (using leonard for sex when they were broke up, almost w/ Raj, vegas marriage with Zack, drunk proposal); after all the mistakes Penny has made under the influence of alcohol, why am I to believe she could never find it in her heart to forgive the man she loves when he makes A MISTAKE UNDER SIMILAR CIRCUMSTANCES that she could understand?
