They've done episodes where lenny were portrayed in a flattering light. While another ship was portrayed in a less than flattering light. See the tenure turbulence where lenny are portrayed as in sync and adorable ("way to hit them with both barrels *fist bump*) while poor Amy had shots taken at her and Sheldon did very poorly at defending her honor. Not exactly flattering from shamy p.o.v. I have no doubt we will get happier times later on, while another couple is portrayed in a less flattering light. Its always been watching two ppl make something ridiculous work. Having a couple who have layers of sweetness. But also layers of roughness and hard edges. Simply because THEY are so different, ala opposites attrAct. Is more compelling to me. Then seeing a couple who have one layer, perfect. Relationships ain't always warm fuzziness. Which is why I love Lenny, its alwAys been portrayed realistically. Are relationships always perfect? No and thats why I loved this plot for Lenny. Opposed to a warm and fuzzy ep. Im not envious of Howardertee or Shamy at all. Quite the oppossite. Lenny are like any young married couple struggling to find their feet. Hell even a long term married couple go to a therapist. Its healthy. Especially when you've got a commitment phobe and a guy who latches onto any form of love and comfort. Ala "needy baby, greedy baby". His relationship with Penny has caused him to outgrow that. But his formulative years still dominate his entire out look. So of course Marrying Penny hes perpetuating. Same way Pennys perpetuating onto Leonard, due to her relationship with her father. Ala my "lil slugger". They are both not perfect. But aint it healthy and mature. They are aware of it, and are seeking help? Penny is unfulfilled career wise, is this a shock? Longs for a time when her life was more simple. Dont we all? Shes afraid of growing up. Aren't we all? That's relatable. Does not change her love for Leonard, but she also feels like she has no identity as an individual. Leonard still has the guy's, his hobbies, his passions etc. Whats Pennys passion? So I hope this storyline does not go away, and they develop more on ot. Sorry you cant hv Penny long for a more simple life. And sweep it under the rug. Its too important to do that. I will be considering done with the show. Waiting for the day things will change but getting disappointed at every hurdle is so frustrating and it pains me to see the way tptb have treated lenny for the last 2 seasons. I don't think I can take it anymore if it continues. The only time lenny seem to be happy is when they are in the background doing nothing, even when they get a tiny bit of time to shine it's mostly drama or some new way to create angst for them which is never resolved and swept under the carpet. In this case Pennys having a crisis individually. I alwAys wanted this though, dealing with things individually and bringing it bk to their relationship. Hopefully they develop on this, and dont just sweep it under the rug. Im complete opposite to some here though. Ive loved mostly how they've written Lenny. And enjoyed them alot more then s8. Penny prob has peter pan syndrome haha (kinda like Charlie Harper lol). Condition where one is afraid of growing up. Nothing to freak out about. Just some good, healthy development. Opposed to Penny suppressing these fears. Its healthy, but thats just me. Im more frustrated at the show overall. An ensemble episode where ahem LOL doesn't take over would be nice, sit dog, sit. Penny not remembering his birthday was a sore point for me which created drama which dragged on to penny finding out he read her journal. It was uncalled for, they are married now. Why go there and proving once again they are not in tune. It was funny in the end but it still left a sore taste in my mouth. Yeah don't want it to be fluffy all the time but there's is more to Lenny than drama. But it seems the writers do not want to explore the beautiful sides that is lenny and it worries me. To me it looks like lenny are written by some lenny haters who can't accept the fans opinions and tastes, there is a lot of people who want to see lenny happy. Even casual viewers are sick of it and want them to split or are bored of them and all the drama and this is from around the world. I just don't see any changes soon and I'll rather be out than keep watching a couple I love just treated like they are settling. I enjoyed the last episode because I do agree they both need therapy especially Leonard but I know it's the end of that arc and will never be brought up again, as usual no resolution for Lenny because tptb loves the Lenny drama. It was just their banter, which shows how far they have matured. Some times I just think some search for drama. When their is none. Maybe that's just me, but That thanksgiving ep was awesome. I think some take Penny at face value. The point was they are in tune. And small things like forgetting a bday. Wont derail things because they know each other so well. This aint s3, they ain't hanging out. Its not alwAys going to be beautifull. Some times its going to be ugly. But that's marriage. It's what grown ups do. But the fact THEY are going through it all, just to be together thats beautifull haha. That's why ive loved Every single Lenny moment this season from the writers. They are not haters lol. They are realistically portraying a young couple who just got married, and the pitfalls that come with it. Because what your seeing is exactly what marriage is, particularly for a young couple. The relationship aint new anymore. Its now hard work. I dont think they were meant for each other. They fell In love. Some ways THEY were. But my point is marrage is hard work. In s3 while the relationship was new and fresh. And While you miss that, I wouldent trade where Lenny are at for the world. But mine is different I think forgetting your girlfriends birthday let alone your wife's is a big deal. Leonard was cool with it but penny had the hump with the journal, hence drama. She was angry with him and wouldn't let it go. You keep insisting that this is all normal behavior but in my 53 years on this planet I have never seen a couple first 6 monthd of marriage go like this. The sniping, disregard for the feelings of your partner and especially the discontented anger from the last ep are not how newlyweds normally act. If I had a female friend who talked about her new marriage this way I would expect it to end.....
