I haven't seen this episode yet, but it doesn't sound too good. Do you think the writers are paving the way for penny to leave at the end of the season for an acting job?

Had not thought of that.  It could be....A separation early in the marriage (but not in the relationship) could add drama and stress.  We will have to wait and see.....

I've said this time and time again for the last 2 seasons tptb have shown they don't care for Lenny. Everything about lenny feels rushed. The engagement which was ignored for a whole season. The WTF Leonard's infidelity and the worst wedding ever for a main couple on a sitcom. I really am worried where the writers are going with lenny. They have been diminished for so long even if they break them up the casual viewers wouldn't care as all they see is drama and angst and well, he cheated on her and so on. Tptb need to follow up on this episode or my feeling is, they will continue on this destructive path for Lenny and as I said before, when Maloro can publicly state that he loves writing drama for Lenny that is not good and I can't see a light at the end of the tunnel right now. That comment alone is one of the reasons why I'm seriously considering quitting watching the show.

Can I ask what has led Lenny to see a therapist?

I still think penny will move back to 4b on her own so she can have some time and space to think things over plus this way tptb won't have to have leonard move and change the living arrangements I have no idea after that

Drama and stress. Runs counterproductive to the show being a comedy, don't you think? If the show was some kind of telenovela, I would expect something like that (along with pregnancies, fatherhood from other men, and people being related that are about to have sex ^^)

And yet, they broke up Leonard and Penny; Sheldon and Amy; had Leonard cheat, hold it in for two year, then tell Penny just before they get married.  Raj and Penny in bed together; etc.   The show has done a lot of drama and stress, in between the comedy.

I was just thinking, there is more drama in TBBT than comedy in Orange is the new Black, maybe TBBT should be considered for the drama categories in the awards from now on:icon_twisted:

Leonard and Penny can be put up for best dramatic actor.  :icon_biggrin:

ETA:. Stupid me, I meant Johnny and Kaley.

Oh no, come on people! I think we're being a little too dour here! It's just the age old question that was posed to Penny:

'How do I love thee? Let me count the ways ...'

to which Penny replies --

"I … don't wanna …"

Really warms the ol' cockles in every Lennys heart, don't it? THAT is the perfect response for a newlywed deeply in love!

[This was sarcasm, BTW]

Your forgetting the nuance of a therapist that asked her this question, a therapist who talked to Leonard and CLEARLY already had a negative opinion about her, when she asked Leonard an unusual favor for her.

Now why would she want to talk to her about anything regarding their marriage right away when she's already declaring that she is just like Leonards mother?

Leonard would do justice to the question as he did justice to the marriage vows while Penny comes "up with something mushy" and Leonard cries. And I'm ok with that because that's who they are. But "I don't wanna." No. Wrong answer.

Again read my previous post.  WHO IS ASKING THIS QUESTION OF HER? And for what reason counts for alot.  Penny shouldn't be expected to be a robot who answers that question for just anyone.  Especially if that person scares the crap out of her by asking what were you thinking in terms of asking Leonard to get her foot in the door with her.

True but to be fair, you forgot who was asking this question of her and why she might answer "I don't wanna", with THIS SPECIFIC PERSON.  If it were with someone who wasn't putting her on the spot, and NOT a therapist who had a deep discussion with leonard, and one who asked her a question with something that implied that she had a negative opinion about her; I would most likely agree with you.  But it's not.  Context and nuance counts for EVERYTHING IMO.

That was before they made the agreement with Sheldon, and stress caught up with that.  Not to mention 6-7 months have passed between then.

Your view, not mine. By all means, enjoy your view.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, Penny had no problem sharing a laundry list of complaints with Dr. Gallo:Job, Sheldon, and Leonard. IMO, her tone and content were negative and she sounded unhappy with her lot in life. At that time, IMO, she didn't sound like she was happy to be married to Leonard. I will be very, very happy if I am proven totally and completely wrong  because as a devoted Lenny shipper, I really want Penny and Leonard to be happy together. I spoke of how the scene felt to me all 4 times I watched it.

And you are certainly entitled to your opinion and interpretation as we all are as long as we express them with respect and politeness which I do try to do.

After some alleged time had passed.  She wasn't comfortable sharing that laundry list right away.

Also there's nothing there that confirms we saw the sum total of her session with Dr. Gallo.  Just what we needed to see in terms of this episode.
