Agreed, even though the Earworm Reverberation ended with Shamy reuniting; a big chunk of that episode was Lenny as a couple having to deal with Sheldon's craziness. Yes I kno ot. I am more talking about Chrismo's habit of reducing the women on this forum to walking balls of estrogen. It's sexist and insulting and adds nothing to constructive conversation. I know good and well that inital taping reports and conversation will likely be centered around Shamy, as fans of that ship are usually giving the information and the ones most active in chat looking for the info. But why the need for the insults? Just say, the conversation is mostly focused on Shamy and I, and you other Lennies here, would likely rather focus on Lenny instead. But her career life. So I dont agree, this a set up for a break up. Theirs no signs imo, that this well occur. She said she misses when her life was more simple. Some have translated that as shes unhappy being married. I translated it as she's unfulfiled career wise. Lets translate what she said * Misses a more simple life * Sick of living with a Manchild * Sick of Leonards toys * Fears turning into Leonards mother * Misses Acting All reasonable concerns. Other then turning into Bev comment. And maybe good actor comment. Although That play shows she can act. She still has lingering commitment issues. Lack of Self Worth. Sense of Autonomy has not been enough. Not once did she say. I am unhappy with Leonard. I dont want to be married anymore. If anything shes more aware then ever, that Leonard perpetuates by being with her. Shes in a delusional state. Deep down shes always known Leonard's too good for her. And she needs to search within to the reason she loves and choose Leonard. Simple as that. While writers have done this in the past. I think this time it was simply an outlet for PENNY to vent. So far as im concerned nothing has changed since ep 3 in terms of her being happily married. Just now shes taking an honest look on her life. And once again. Her outlook HAS changed. I can actually enjoy Shamy too, no problem, but one day I could get to a point where the imbalance between the ships, really annoys me. I'm still hoping, that we get at least one Lenny centric episode this season without any drama or angst. A funny one, where I can relax in my couch and just laugh. Or a story arc for Lenny that ends in resolving all issues (brought up in 9x12) once and for all, so we can have a happy married couple for the rest of the series. I became interested in the first place because of Penny and Leonard, I thought the 'hot' girl thing falling for Leonard because of who he was, instead of what he looked like, was very enduring and interesting in this shallow world we live in. Being an engineer, I've seen and known a lot of Leonards, so this show was refreshing to me, and I've seen a couple Leonards have Pennys. The big question I had after watching it was why did Leonard stay with such a horrible f**king person like Sheldon, the man is a complete asshole and the most selfish character on TV. I answered that question by thinking Leonard wanted to be close to Penny, there was no other reason for someone that nice to put up with someone so horrible. i find the Sheldon show tedious, Amy is much funnier than Sheldon because Sheldons comedy centered around himself, it is boring and it makes me cringe anymore when he puts down people, I just want to deck him. Leonard and Penny on the sidelines has taken away the warm part out of the show for me, Sheldon is nothing but caustic and he drags Amy down with him. Season 9 to me is turning out just as bad as 8, and don't anyone dare tell me to wait and see the season is not over, like they did last season. And I, too, wish they'd use Leonard and Penny better than they currently do. They're interesting and real and adorable and I, too, wish they'd have a lot more storylines apart from Sheldon. They're great characters in their own right. I have moments where I enjoy Sheldon and I have moments where I wanna kick him in the nuts. I love episodes where the whole cast work together and help each other solve problems against the outside world. All the drama within their circle is draining. I don't need to see kissing or being affectionate all the time. I just want to know they are genuinely happy together and not afraid to communicate openly. Otherwise, breakup and move on. For Shamy, I would have rather seen them be friends longer before reconciling if they were going to drag out the proposal. For Lenny, I would have rather seen them return from Vegas unmarried and rebuild their relationship post confession. All the drama takes away from Howard, Bernadette, and Raj. I really don't understand the point of Stuart anymore. I miss the group episodes, the funny pranks, the university setting, and I really hate how they try to make parallels in every relationship in every show. 8.24 everyone is on the verge of a breakup. 9.12 everyone is missing someone. Do all the characters have to have the same story line all the time and can even one episode focus on something other than relationship baggage? I know not much but I know some of u deserve a little bit. Others I will only do so if the stabs towards the shipping people ends. However a season 12 is a whole new ballgame. They will make a lot of money this season and season 10, also if there is a season 11, I think they get the same money. So if there is a season 12, will it be about the money for Johnny and Kaley, I guess it depends on how their careers are going. This subject reminds me of a trailer I saw for a new cable show where one of the main characters says:. I may stop watching it at broadcast though and just record it on my DVR for later viewing. The diminishing of Leonard and Penny has hurt the soul of the show for me. I feel TPTB have gone over to the dark side and it is all about money now and the quickest way to make it. They have given up on the original plot of the show and just centered the show on the fans favorite character. If you think about it, that explains what many perceive as lazy writing, they have centered the show around Sheldon. It is exactly following the 'Family Matters' technique for making money on TV, more Urkel or in this case Sheldon. I don't really expect the situation to change much now from how Leonard and Penny will be handled in the future, based on this, and it really is a shame because there is so much story that still could be told about them. They have really just got together in marriage, and now they have to make work while each of them matains their identity, the journey is not over. kerrycec03 Posted January 13, 2016 Share Posted January 13, 2016 Ok few Lenny moments: 1. In the cold open they are walking up the lobby/stairs with Sheldon as he opens the letter from meemaw. Few jokes but they are walking up side by side with Sheldon behind them. 2. After its established Meemaw doesn't like Amy Lenny are there with Shamy and Meemaw says hi to Penny and asks about her new job saying its amazing how gals today can have it all. This of course is a setup to Amy saying she cant have it all cause Sheldon needs more help plus according to Sheldon Leonard's job is a hobby. 3. After the Meemaw/Amy intense convo the ring comes out and Amy says to Penny "you knew" and they run to 4b. We see them at the island and Penny says "my grandma was never that intense. We used to watch her cigarette ash burn so long it would fall in her pudding...and she ate it". Sheldon walks in and they all agree that was intense and ultimately Sheldon wants one of them to get his new train. 4. After Amy defends herself Lenny walks in and says Sheldon has something to say.
