-Again, how do we know what Howard told Leonard because we only find out two plus years later and nothing to suggest that incident ever shows up on screen?  Howard could have told Leonard to confess and Leonard ignored it.

-Also, Howard only tells Bernadette, not Raj?

-Bernadette might not tell Penny, but she doesn't tell Amy or Emily (because you know Emily is all of a sudden part of the group now even though we never saw Penny and Emily reconcile their differences), but all of a sudden she is included in girls nights that we have never seen on screen.  Oops, no questions please, just accept what new episodes tells you even if they contradict previous episodes.

-Reasonable deduction.  I don't truly know, its just a deductive interpretation I made based on his previous experiences  Why would he tell him to tell her?

-Why not?  He's required to tell Raj everything he knows?

-Except NOTHING you suggested TRULY contradicts anything from before, about Amy & Emily,  maybe she did tell her, maybe she didn't.  Does it really matter that much?  Also the Thanksgiving episode this year suggests they aren't that close, since Emily asks her so.  Also NOTHING from the episode The Empathy Optimization CONFIRMS Emily is a part of Penny's Posse on a consistent basis at that point.

-The point about Thanksgiving Decoupling was rather than pick a fight, (so Penny is not mad at him yet) Leonard could admit wrongdoing.  If not admit to wrongdoing, he at least should not have gotten so upset and insistent that she get the annulment immediately.  Leonard could have been sympathetic and consoled Penny explaining that people do stupid things when they are drunk, but he would help her fix it on Monday.

-Also, thank you for finally explaining the psychiatrist episode to me because rather than reluctance, I saw a woman who could not answer why she married Leonard.  No explanations that she loved him and how smart he is (episode where they make out in Leonard's lab).  However, when she does open up to the psychiatrist while lying on the couch, she still fails to justify why she married Leonard, just complains about being Leonard's mom and living with Sheldon.

-Had I only joined this forum sooner or posted questions every time I had a concern regarding this show, I could have saved myself years of questions or analysis, or discussions with my husband, and just been placated by what I should have seen (your views) not what I thought I saw.

-Should a, would a, could a.  He's still a human being prone to error.

-Why do you need Penny to reconfirm something we already know?

-Why take everything on screen at 100% surface value?  Sometimes reading between the lines helps.  Except thats how I choose to interpret.  Nobody is forcing you to interpret things in one way or another way.

I hope that the positive resp. supportive discussion about Lenny will dominate this thread again someday. As I wrote a short while ago, I miss all the Lenny goodness we used to had in this thread.

I miss all the Lenny Goodness we used to get on the show.  Now, we get the cute vows, in a  interupted wedding.  We get the cute trip to Vegas, until Leonard admits to cheating on Penny.  We get a cute interaction on Thanksgiving, that started with a pretty clear indication she doesn't know her husbands birthday(despite knowing him for 8 years and previously throwing him a birthday party).  And a cute scene with Leonard agreeing to help his wife in her career, only to have a newlywed Penny who doesn't want to explain why she married Leonard.

-I'm not a writer, nor do I know the actors/writers but I have met with writers like Greg weisman who always talks about not being afraid to be subtle about writing characters and/or their actions. Letting characters express themselves beyond just words, and REALLY getting inside their headcin terms of how they act in terms of complexity.  Just like in real life. i see alot of that kind of writing on this show with its characters.  Penny telling leonard i love you for the first time is a great example of this. It didn't directly tell us why it was a big deal for her.  But long time viewers could easily know why.

Also when did it become a law that viewers shouldn't be required to think at all when watching a television show?  Is using critical thinking when it comes to interpreting characters/thoughts/actions/events really that much to ask?

-stale jokes iyo.  Remember bazinga used to be repeated alot?  Now it's heard once in a blue moon.

Interesting that the writer you mention (Greg Weisman) is not on this list of former and current writers and directors (first two hyperlinks below).  Nor is TBBT listed on his profile (second two hyperlinks below).  However, I am sure you have a great explanation for that too.  Personally, I give up, and I am no longer willing to say anything more on this thread.  I sincerely apologize to the other forum members.

I know, it's half-assed. Hence my desire for at least one or two nice, cute and heartwarming episodes without drama and/or angst this season. Is that too much to ask for, dear writers?

In the meantime I try to enjoy the little tidbits of Lenny goodness the writers throw in from time to time. :shy:

I would love to see some actual undiluted sweet moments between them.

As for enjoying the tidbits.  It's getting to the point of not rewatching the full episode. Fast forwarding to the tidbits, if any.  I supposed I can pause the show so I can see them standing behind the island together.

All I can say is that I sincerely hope that you don't leave this thread since you are a welcome addition to it and you have displayed nothing but insight, level headedness, and very good analysis. You have nothing to apologize for. The only one who should apologize is the troll, and we know he never will.

Well, I'm indeed a Lenny, but I can enjoy other ships (even Shamy) resp. non-Lenny scenes too. So far I rewatched every episode in season 9 twice at least.

She could of easily defended her marriage. But although she was caught off guard. She diddnt. I guess her life choices were being questioned. And she didn't have an appropriate answer. I would like to kno why she married him. Beyond love. She could be with anyone. Obviously the fact hes the opposite in some ways to Wyatt. Not really though Leonard is similar to Wyatt in alot of ways. Clearly Penny's the opposite of Bev. So why she thinks shes turning into Bev, makes no sense at all. She couldn't be anymore different. Out of all the couples Lenny have never had a maternal connotation to them. At times Amy and Bernadette have motherrd Sheldon and Howard. Lenny have always been individual's in their relationship. So how she comes to the conclusion shes afraid of turning into Bev. Based on a few toys. Is just stupid. Shes clearly suffering from a delusional state, and is delirious lol. Guess though it wasn't an arranged marriage lol. They have been together a long time. They dated for a year in s3. Been back together since s5. Not broken up since. So been with him romantically now five years. Were friends with benefits haha for the first two seasons. At this point if it has still has not occured to her why she is with Leonard or why she married him. After all this time knowing the guy. Then I dont know. Maybe its a thought Penny needs time to discover.

I never said he was. And why does it matter if he is or not?

I guess Penny could say because I love him. But that would be too generic. Theirs clearly a deeper reason here. And I dont see this as just a one off. It welll be brought up again. Maybe Penny well do a Lily haha.

Or maybe people are reading too much into Penny's line, and how she clearly came off as defensive at the beginning. If you think that conversation was going to end after she explains why she married Leonard, I've got some ocean front property in Iowa to sell you.

My friend and I made it to Key West today. We were having fun checking out the sights and window shopping and I saw this store. You know who I thought of right away! Then I was imagining Leonard and Penny holding hands and walking around this beautiful place feeling so happy to be together. They really need a honeymoon! And I probably need  Dr. Gallo.

At this stage more advantageous to watch past seasons for Lenny goodness. Strike me watching s2 how diminished Lenny have become. The whole show was them really for four seasons. They have been background role for a while now. Cant remember other then wedding the last time they had a centric plot. Hell cant remember last time their was a ensemble group episode. Guess last ep sort of. But only last few scenes.

To this day still my fav scene of the whole series run.

:icon_cheesygrin: get off my neck Leonard. They were so fun back then. What made it so special. Was it was clearly a one off. You could tell the sexual tension their between Jaley. It well never happen again sadly. But its what made the scene so endearing.

Just rrwatched s3 Guitar Amplification. The one where Lenny fight over An Ex staying on her couch. And Sheldon reacting badly haha. I was always with Leonard in this one. While Pennys independent. And is her life. Shes in.a relationship now. So at least show some common.courtesy to Leonard. Who know how insecure he gets. Good episode as most of s3 was. In the end He stayed on the couch at 4A. But realized how far theyve come. Leonard was standing up for himself though. Penny has grown up alot. Leonard's right she was childish.

Just watched Monopolar in Oz. "it means I wish you weren't going". When she leans on that looking so sad, that to me was Penny fully exposed. No hiding behind snarky comments, no looking smug reacting to comments about her looks, no put downs about Leonard's faults. Just a woman openly exposing her true feelings about the man she has finally realized she loves ( even though it took 3 more seasons to say it). We could do with more of that Penny. I think. If they can just gets some time alone instead of babysitting.

Love -- no adore -- that moment!

I fell in love with this show because of its unique premise. Not 'nerd falls in love with hot girl next door' because THAT has been done ad nauseum. But the reverse of that 'hot girl falls in love with nerd' is especially sweet and unexpected. And, for me, THAT was the amazing glory of the earlier years of The Sheldon Show!

Ah er, I meant TBBT. Sorry.
