-no because even if I did do what you asked it wouldn't prove its a majority.  It would prove its a large sum like I pointed out.

-I didn't move any goalposts, you used a term (majority) that is used to define as more than half or most numbers of a specific quantity (in this case, people who hated the wedding out of all people who have an opinion about the wedding).  This would mean that you know the exact amount of fans/viewers who have a specific opinion of the wedding. But neither of us will likely never know the exact number.

Oh, anything's possible, for sure. Maybe in the final scene Leonard and Sheldon are in bed together, Sheldon wakes up drenched in sweat and goes, "Babe, I just had the most awful nightmare...."

I'm not sure why, but the fact that the actors are so behind the canon ships makes me feel better. I know that doesn't change anything, but it does. I remember when Joey & Rachel got together, Matt LeBlanc went, "Dude, this is my buddy's girl, this isn't right".

Yes, he was against the idea of their characters getting together because he liked "the dance" as they coined it. But he also said that he came around when he read the script to the S4 finale.

Whenever I read 'Lenny' and 'endgame' in the same sentence it makes me inwardly cringe. Do I want (need, hope, desire, pray, love) them to be endgame? Absolutely! Or else I wouldn't be here. Smart and beautiful babies, the cat's alive, Pop Tart, I swallowed it all -- hook, line, and sinker. 

But -- TPTB send up Shenny signals that I'm having a very hard time shrugging away. 

I detest Shenny. I liked Sheldon and Penny in the early seasons when they were mutual combatants. That was fun to watch. But even since, Season 6 or Season 7, they began to write them differently. Gone are the battles and now they written as mutually supportive to one another almost to the exclusion of their significant others and ridiculously, unbelievably so. And the level of intimacy between Sheldon and Penny has been upped too. In Season 8, when Sheldon and Penny were experimenting to see if they could fall in love, I nearly cried and not from joy or happiness. TPTB wrote that scene which had such an intense intimacy and, the entire season, Leonard and Penny were given nothing, IMO, to equal it. Leonard's 'It makes me want to hold your hand and do it with you' came close but, to me, did not surpass it. For years, we know that Leonard wants to get out of 4A. When they are actually moving out with cartons in their hands, Penny kaboshes it, to stay and help Sheldon. Forget what her husbands needs and wants -- for eight seasons. And Shenny in this most recent TR I find extremely off-putting too. 

This is/would be probably nothing but for the fact, to me, they keep minimizing Lenny. For me, Season 8 was, with a few notable exceptions, a Lenny horror show. They essentially disappeared from November to March. This season, yeah, for the few minutes they are on the screen, they act like a team but it 'feels' like Penny is putting Sheldon and her needs above Leonard. Sure, she'll hold Sheldon hand when he's hiding out in the bathroom and offer to stay in there the entire party with him but she she asked why she married Leonard, Penny's reply: 'I don't wanna.' Leonard shares his epiphany with Dr Gallo 'Ive been insecure, no one cares about what I have to say …' Her reply: 'Yeah. No one cares. Did you help me out or not?' Ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch ouch. That was lighthearted and written for the laugh? Yeah, OK. I guess so but I have to take your word for it. It wasn't funny to me and I took it as a slap to the face. 

I don't know. It's just me. I go into each viewing with an expectation (hope, want, desire) and even as minimal as it is now, that low Lenny standard, for me, is dashed and not being met while, to me, they keep upping the Shenny intimacy, tenderness level. 

Something here doesn't 'feel' right. 

I absolutely want Lenny extreme happiness, fulfillment, love, and support. But until I stop this and finally end my waning obsession, I'm going to keep looking up for Acme Anvils and/or falling pianos because I am convinced there is a formidable Shenny wolf thinly disguised as a Lenny in the writer's den.

I agree with you whole heartily it's kind of like moving 1 shovel of dirt each day eventually you have a big pile. I've read parts of shenny stories that have sheldon having sex with amy is just to prepare him for penny but who knows can't do any thing about it

^^^5Miss, I just posted a sort of rebuttle on the Season 9 Discussion thread to all the Shenny talk that was going on later in the day yesterday.....Mainly because I hate Shenny (I also do not like Sheldon very much---There I said it. He's an ass to his friends) and seeing all those posts just had me seeing red.  I think it's for a different reason than you do.  I think that Penny is as damaged and as broken as Leonard is (I don't think Sheldon is as broken as everyone thinks.  His reply to Howard when his mom died "you have friends-I didn't" [paraphrased there] I found insulting and totally lacking in empathy, making the situation all about him-again.  His childhood was paradise compared to Leonard's and Howard's. An adoring mother, grandmother and grandfather.  A twin sister that may have teased him a lot, but in her lone appearance, you could see there was sibling love there. Sorry, I digress).   I think she fears the intimacy that she  has with Leonard.  Even though they are married, I think she fears loosing that.  It was hard for her to answer Dr. Gallo when it really came out of the blue.  When she did  begin to open up she complained about Sheldon.  There is that.

With Sheldon she doesn't speak of her hopes and dreams.  To me it's just "jibber-jabber".  She thinks of him as "one of the best people I know". One.  These "other ones", I'm sure include Bernadette and Amy.  Maybe even Raj and Howard.  You just know from the little we have had that the number one person on that list is Leonard.

I know we have not gotten much for our couple in the last three seasons (Season 7 had just so much angst.  The saving grace there was his rescue of her with the car and the penultimate episode of that season).  TPTB are riding their (hidious) cash cow for as long as they can. 

I guess what I'm trying to say is have a little faith.  I know that is asking a lot from what we have been handed (how much better would we feel if the celebration was a belated party for our newlyweds??), but if the end result is that which was spoken of yesterday (I'm not going to give the name again) it would completely blow up everything.  Each relationship would suffer and have irreperable damage.  I really don't believe that nuclear option will be chosen.

Even if there was a mutual attraction there, which there isn't, I cannot for the life of me picture Penny putting up with someone as self centered as Sheldon as her partner. They would have to completely change their characters in order to make that work.

Plus, there is no believable way in which they could pull it off without destroying several friendships.

Leonard might have trouble standing up for himself and tolerates a lot when it comes to Sheldon. But if he ever touched Penny? Leonard would beat him senseless and tell him to go to hell. JMO.

I can't imagine Penny ever wanting to date Sheldon, given the fact that she comes over as a passionate woman who wants to get all from a relationship, sex included. And Sheldon, with his maybe-once-a-year attitude now wouldn't even come close to fulfil her needs

That's exactly it. Yes, they share a closeness and that's sweet. I think they both use their relationship to compensate their not-so-great relationships with their brother and sister, respectively. And I do think that's sweet. But that's all it is and that's all it's ever going to be. I can't recall one moment that's ever been remotely sexual between them.

But when it comes to who Penny needs? Desperately, truly needs with her body and soul? That's Leonard. Throughout the years, she's been scared of losing him. She still is. That's what makes their relationship so complicated. There's so much to lose.

I think the problem here isn't Sheldon and how close he may or may not be to his sister of choice, but the fact that the writers have simply not given Lenny much to do. We haven't been given much insight to their day-to-day life, which makes us fill the blanks with horror scenarios that'll most likely never ever happen.

Let's remember that they're gonna talk about kids soon, albeit briefly. And I'm sure when the time comes for our couple, they'll be an amazing team. They always have been.

I think they put them together for $$$ reasons. S & P are the 2 most popular characters (from what I read, hear and observe). People watch to see them. I hate it but I understand the need to keep the majority happy and keep them watching.  And  I think that they think a snarky, snarly Penny (to Leonard) is funny. It is in small doses but needs to be seasoned and sweetened with more loving words and gestures to the husband who would do just about anything for her and rarely has a harsh word for her. ( I would be so much nicer to him ) I think just a little tweaking could find a much funnier, cuter, more loving sweet spot for Penny and Leonard. When they hit it it works so well!!! And this is what we want and need for this amazing and adorable couple.That's my wish for them and us.

umm.. she clearly opened up when she got comfortable with the Dr. and later complained about leonard too... and could not even muster one small nice thing about leonard....even after "opening up".....

I don't think she fears the "intimacy" she has with leonard...... never felt like it.... almost 90% of the the time she is rude and snarky to whatever leonard does....one who fears the "intimacy" would never do that....

and at one with that "intimacy" would surely remember leonard's birthday....  just like how she remembered sheldon's and amy's birthdays..... and also gave a lecture to sheldon on how important it is for sheldon to spend time with amy on her birthday..... inspite of knowing all this....she could not even remember leonard's birthday.... just shows how much she "cares" for is interested in leonard.....
