Ok guys after watching tonight's episode let's try to come up with something young and fun for Lenny to do any ideas

Anyone else just a little disappointed in the last Lenny scene when they were cleaning up. Would have preferred more playful Penny. Maybe I'm over analyzing.

I know what you mean but I think the idea of Lenny,especially Penny, in this episode is they are getting older now. I think next week's episode will further drive home that point when they discuss having a baby.

It think they just wanted to have Leonard throw confetti at the end, like when he threw French fries, at Penny so that they could get that look from her.

They did act very married thought, she basically told him she was going to have sex with him that night, twice.

Lenny discussed having kids. Yet its all over with one hug in 200th lol. Wow that was ridiculous. Sounds like a sweet ep. Penny aint the type to be romantic. So I think its unfair ppl rag on her for not showing she loves Leonard. But its clear to me based on the small thing's. Look at s7 she kept all these small things that meant so much. Way she holds onto Leonard. Wearing flats so Shes not so tall. This women is crazy about Leonard. Actions speak louder than words. Shes also protective of almost her big brother Sheldon. Its what happens when you live in such close quarters. I think its sweet lol. Remember intimacy acceleration? Did anything change? Yes. Lenny got MARRIED lol.

But -- TPTB send up Shenny signals that I'm having a very hard time shrugging away. 

I detest Shenny. I liked Sheldon and Penny in the early seasons when they were mutual combatants. That was fun to watch. But even since, Season 6 or Season 7, they began to write them differently. Gone are the battles and now they written as mutually supportive to one another almost to the exclusion of their significant others and ridiculously, unbelievably so. And the level of intimacy between Sheldon and Penny has been upped too. In Season 8, when Sheldon and Penny were experimenting to see if they could fall in love, I nearly cried and not from joy or happiness. TPTB wrote that scene which had such an intense intimacy and, the entire season, Leonard and Penny were given nothing, IMO, to equal it. Leonard's 'It makes me want to hold your hand and do it with you' came close but, to me, did not surpass it. For years, we know that Leonard wants to get out of 4A. When they are actually moving out with cartons in their hands, Penny kaboshes it, to stay and help Sheldon. Forget what her husbands needs and wants -- for eight seasons. And Shenny in this most recent TR I find extremely off-putting too. 

This is/would be probably nothing but for the fact, to me, they keep minimizing Lenny. For me, Season 8 was, with a few notable exceptions, a Lenny horror show. They essentially disappeared from November to March. This season, yeah, for the few minutes they are on the screen, they act like a team but it 'feels' like Penny is putting Sheldon and her needs above Leonard. Sure, she'll hold Sheldon hand when he's hiding out in the bathroom and offer to stay in there the entire party with him but she she asked why she married Leonard, Penny's reply: 'I don't wanna.' Leonard shares his epiphany with Dr Gallo 'Ive been insecure, no one cares about what I have to say …' Her reply: 'Yeah. No one cares. Did you help me out or not?' Ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch ouch. That was lighthearted and written for the laugh? Yeah, OK. I guess so but I have to take your word for it. It wasn't funny to me and I took it as a slap to the face. 

I don't know. It's just me. I go into each viewing with an expectation (hope, want, desire) and even as minimal as it is now, that low Lenny standard, for me, is dashed and not being met while, to me, they keep upping the Shenny intimacy, tenderness level. 

Something here doesn't 'feel' right. 

I absolutely want Lenny extreme happiness, fulfillment, love, and support. But until I stop this and finally end my waning obsession, I'm going to keep looking up for Acme Anvils and/or falling pianos because I am convinced there is a formidable Shenny wolf thinly disguised as a Lenny in the writer's den. 

I completely agree with this post, and get infuriated when some want to chastise me for wanting better Lenny. To all of those people, just let me tell you: it is not a wish I'm pulling out of my ass. I've seen better Lenny, I've seen special Lenny, I've seen "us against the world Lenny", I've seen Lenny that made me be thankful that such a well written couple existed (PAST TENSE) in television. So when I ask for better Lenny, I think I'm well within my rights as a TBBT viewer, wouldn't you say?

I.don't blame Penny for not telling why she married Leonard. It was none of the therapist business tbh. Almost like she was trying to make a sale. Intimacy Acceleration was showing they have a brother and sister relationship. They even said it. Dont get the stress over it. Annoys me that tptb like to suggest.sp deserves scenes. Elevating them above Lenny. It just undermines Their history. Who was the one who invited Penny for lunch? Not Sheldon Leonard. Who went in s2 financial permeability. To get Pennys money from Kurt?Who cared? Leonard. Who kissed who in the 6th episode? Leonard. I just think the tptb no sp is a fantasy. Theirs no proof to support anything. Quite the contary. I just think tptb enjoy teasing a certain subset of the audience. Who need to get a grip. Yeah Jim and kaley are beautiful. So what. So is Johnny . I get angst but in the long runI its allI good. If it was about end game. Show would of ended in s1 finalie. But they cant just go through the motions. They need to keep the audience on its toes.

I too have thought that the scenes with romantic Shenny on the show have been put in to mock the romantic Shennys.  Because if you look at them they are ridiculous in the way they are presented, like Penny going to Sheldon in the laundry room and starting to strip, she was never like that with any guy or said anything so sappy like that.  Her feeling affection for him in 'The Intimacy Acceleration' ended as soon as Sheldon opened his mouth, how many times have we heard her say that everything is fine with him until he opens his mouth.  Finally she jumps in his arms and makes out with him in front of Leonard, right after she comes in to talk to Leonard, is crazy and contrary to her character.  The Shennys are so wound up in their romantic fantasy that they don't see it when they are being burned.  

Penny is worried that she is getting older, worried about her life settling down and worried that her life is more complicated now, but when she is not mad at him, she always goes to Leonard to discuss those worries, like last night.  As a matter of fact, ever notice, the only time she talks to Sheldon about her problems is when she is upset with Leonard about something and because she really cares so much about Leonards opinion.  She will try to get any type of reassurance that her opinion has merit, when Leonard disagrees with her, that she will go to anyone else, the girls or even Sheldon.  When she talks to Sheldon about those things she is treating him like one of the girls, just like when she was trying to get romance help from Raj when Leonard told her she couldn't be romantic.

The big thing is when Penny really gets scared or upset she runs to Leonard, he is the one she trusts, the one who will make things better and the one who is safe and comforting, and she thinks like that about him because she loves him.  You see that from their first real kiss at her Halloween Party to when her car breaks down, from when she is scared about marriage to when she is scared about getting old, it is always Leonard she goes to.  Leonard is her 'White Knight', the man she can talk to, the man she goes home with at night, and the only man she found she truly loved.  Remember, ever since she has told him she loved him, she has never questioned that she admitted that or suggested that what she said wasn't true.

You know I was watching all the other sitcoms last night closely and all the other sitcoms had the married couples or best friends be snarky with each other.  It is like a fixed formula for a sitcom, if you have two people who care a lot for each other, they have to be snarky to be funny.  Whether it was 'Life in Pieces', 'Mom', or 'Two Broke Girls', it was all the same, so is Lenny being snarky to each other really a big deal?

I don’t think so. But I guess I’m not the right person to answer that question seriously.

Regarding this episode, we now know, that Penny deoesn't like things being thrown at her.

Also, since I'm on a roll this morning, I think Penny is much less 'Flirty' with Sheldon, than the first 2-3 seasons.  Remember how he would get to her with his remarks and they would compete and go at each other, well they don't do that any more.  I see Penny changing during the middle seasons, from her beginning dealings with the two guys across the hall, to Leonard and his crazy roommate, to now, her and Leonard and their mutual friend Sheldon.  She now has catalogued Sheldon in her life and deals with him in ways she has learned to deal with him, sometimes she can talk to him and sometimes she just rolls her eyes and treats him just like the big baby he is being.  As Howard said, 'He comes with an instruction manual' and now Penny has a copy of it.  You have to admit, even though they don't seem to get their share of scene time, the Hofstadters have been pretty much inseparable this season, she even took him on her wild spy mission on Amy.  She seems to be so in to being married to him and even told her dad it is great, that doesn't sound like she like she is looking for greener pastures does it, especially with a guy she has permanently put in the crazy friend zone.

A very small thing to further put a dagger into the creepy Sh**ny talk happening on Wednesday....

While sitting in the car Penny said (paraphrasing) "do you know when I met you I was 22 years old?". Now compare that with what she told Sheldon during The Intimacy Acceleration: (again, paraphrasing) "I met you and Leonard 8 years ago!"

Speaking about the same event with two different people, she phrases the point she is making just as a woman who is deeply in love with her husband would. To Leonard "when I met you" to Sheldon "when I met you and Leonard".

Especially when he threw the French fries at her, I thought she was about to crack up.  You can imagine that they probably did that scene a couple times and Johnny was having a ball doing it.  I hope they have it on the season 9 bloopers.

I'm pretty sure L +P visited the Dirty Store for their outfits and then went to 4b and fooled around before dressing up and barging into 4a. A big Lenny hug and kiss in their goofy costumes would have made the episode perfect for me. I like my snark sweetened up with a little sugar at the end to take the edge off.  I so wanted to see and not have to imagine a Lenny Valentine Kiss.
