Leonard being hesitant to reveal that account to penny because of her spending habits sounds about right for his character.

Liked:

• Mutual I Love Yous. Don't think that was mentioned. 

• Alvin and the Chipmunks. It thought their 'toothbrush and genital' combo was playful married couple at its best - plenty of smiling from both.

• Seeing my wife's disgust in my fashion choices in the way Penny reacted to Leonard's Harry Potter cap

• Reasonably calm discussion about the account/job issue. Didn't come across as badly as reactions to taping report seemed.

Disliked

• The money issue. Said A LOT more about it in the episode thread but too much flip flopping over the last few years over money and FFS solve the problem by moving out and NOT PAYING RENT FOR TWO APARTMENTS!!!

• Old school Penny storm out. I though those times were over in Season 7. IF she could get over the Mandy reveal and move on with a wedding, surely she could have handled this minor reveal without the storm out. 

• Old school Leonard not trusting Penny. It may have been in character in the past but it hasn't really been there for a long time. I thought they worked out the finance thing early Season 8 with the Howardette visit and the decision to set up a joint account with the car money and we haven't really seen wasteful Penny for a long time either.

• Yet another Penny has had sex in a way Leonard hasn't joke. Just ONCE can it be a first time for both of them. Just ONCE!

@SRAM may be a hint at career change but wouldn't be as big an issue if they solved their finance issues by cutting out rent for a wasted apartment!!

@meka3000, we don't need compelling television based on financial woes. I don't want to see them sitting down to work out their financial woes. I simply want something more interesting and funny as a plot for them because the money issue isn't compelling TV ( in my view). Let them have fun FFS. And yeah, of course she can change her mind but why does she have to? Why can't she be happy in the job? Why can't it be her way into science based conversations with the girls at least and even the boys instead of just being the usual she hates flirting to make money which to me cheapens the job and Penny as well. But of course I'm not interested in a "Why/why not" game here so, yeah just my opinion.

It seems the writers need to stop discussing money issues. Every time they do they seem to contradict what they said previously. It seems they make themselves look foolish.

The thing about massive credit card debt was mentioned before in the episode where Leonard and the guys were thinking about being partners with Stuart in the comic book store.  What screws things up is that episode where Penny says she has 'a guy' and implies she is making huge amounts of money and investing wisely.

Mutual "I love you's", a sweet kiss, Penny acknowledging (in Penny's own special way of course --> ) that Leonard is completely rocking her world in bed...things I liked about last night's episode.

Very funny when penny made fun of Leonard cause if his hat, then complemented Sheldon in his hat. I think penny enjoys annoying leonard in a good way. :-) tender moment between lenny when they made up.  Leonard should know better not to keep secrets from penny, seems he never learns his lesson, but at the end of the day they love each other still.

Haven't watched the episode yet but it seems to have two major contradictions. One obviously appears to be money. The other is why if Leonard is "rocking " Penny's world is she more interested in drinking at the end. It appears the writers are trying to be funny?

It was an odd episode, for me anyway.  There were a lot of things to like and some things not to like.  One of the things that made me a little sad (and I fully recognize that it is total jealousy on my part---I get that) was that tag scene.  It was so amazingly lovely, wonderful, friendly, loving, flirting, intimate---I can go on and on.  And it was between Sheldon and Amy.  Am I being blind?  Have we as lovers of Leonard and Penny had anything close to that other than the end of episode 9.02?  That there was no snark. That it showed a couple very much in love.  That it showed a couple that appeared to be like honeymooners.  All of this.  That final portion of Leonard & Penny's scene could have ended so much better if her closing remark had been something like "give it a little while and you'll have to rephrase that 'never have I ever' and we'll both have to take a drink...".  Talk me out of this people.  Let me know what you think.

With you all the way. A little tweaking would have made this a wonderful episode for Lenny. I've been rewriting it all morning.

Felt the same jealousy during tag scene, especially when I clicked into the Shamy thread and saw all the happiness. Seems the writers are becoming major Shamys. Lenny conflict is what TPTB love. So it seems...

Oh my! I dread to think what the reactions here will be in two weeks after the broadcast of episode 9.21. 

For me personally the ILY's and the kiss were a pleasant surprise, since I never expected them (I can't remember these things mentioned in the taping report).

Penny's leaving the room was the right thing to do.  This was a couple's discussion not for the whole group as part of a game.  It showed that they had matured and were looking to the future and being supportive of each other.

I don't know. The episode felt very off to me. Loved Leonard's hat, I thought he looked very cute. And probably because it was prompted by Leonard by him clearing his throat and giving Penny a hopeful little nod, I did not like Penny's 'you can take a sip too' as it felt very placating. 

It's felt like the writers didn't have any real Lenny ideas gelled out this week. They wanted Shamy in a cabin and Lenny was the vehicle to get them there. 

To me, it felt as if Kaley just phoned in her performance. Didn't feel convinced by any of her emotions, her storming off anger, the love in the mutual kiss, the potstirring devilment fun of 'hey! let's play a drinking game to liven this party up'. Felt like she was just saying her lines. 

Leonard's hat and the Alvin and the Chimpmonks line made me smile. Other than that, I got nothing.

I just found it so damn annoying and not even funny. will someone please remind the writers they are a married couple now, and could they stop this awful sarcastic Penny, it is really getting beyond a joke now.

and could the writers please leave Jerk Sheldon at home so we can see a loving Lenny again?

That would have been absolutely perfect! The crashing sound would be followed by a chorus of both Leonard and Penny and Sheldon. Leonard and Penny saying off camera, 'Damn! We did it again' while Sheldon shakes his head sadly and turns to Amy and says, 'Oh no. They did it again'.
