on the first episode , Leonard found the inner Leonard, in many ways the lenny of now are still the same today as they were then.

I don't think no matter what was happening this season would of prevented losing some spark.

The frist espiode has been my favorite from the start but after seeing the change in penny in seasons 8&9 it's really disheartening

But the thing is I don't everything is Penny's fault. Spaghetti Catalyst was on,the episode after the break up, and part of the storyline is Sheldon going to Disney with her friends. When is the last time she's been with "her" friends? She's knows Amy because of Sheldon and she 's set up Bernadette with Howard. So I'm not sure their really her friends more like Leonard's friends significant others. The one attempt Leonard tried to mingle with her friends lasted half a football game. We've seen Penny's father once and the one friend who hooked up with Howard season 1 and the Halloween episode season 1. The only friend since season 3 has been Zack.  I know this will never happen but maybe Lenny should move out of the building in an apartment, condo whatever that's truly theirs. Because even if they moves across the hall everything will still revolve around Leonard(and Sheldon). I understand she has frustrations with her job or can be a "bitch" at times but I don't see that as the only factors.

I see enough angst during my work hours. when I get home I like something to laugh at and something to warm me emotionally so I can forget work for a while. I wish Chuck Lorre would leave the angst to the many heavy dramas on T.V. and give us our romantic Lenny back because I am really getting so fed upto the back teeth with watching TBBT now. enough of sarcastic Penny it is just not funny at all.

You forgot in the season 7 episode where she read Bev's book about Leonard, she mentioned that they go to a sports bar to hang with old friends and watch the game, so it appears she hasn't dropped them all.  But people seem to gravitate more to family than friends after they marry so her hanging less or not at all with them now would make sense.

I did forget that and I suppose it's true what you say after friends marry. People complain on her how Penny bosses Leonard around but in reality Penny has sacrificed arguably more than Leonard has.

Penny is the most changed person on the show, she went from the hot popular party girl, one of the beautiful people, to where she is now, married to a nerd.  But she does have good friends, a very good job, a husband who adores her and a life that is pretty good, I would say above average and probably a lot better than her friends back home and the girls she use to work with at the Cheesecake Factory (except maybe Bernadette who has a similar life).

True. But people complain much more about her than Leonard. As I said before if Penny kissed a guy all blank would of let loose. As you said above life is pretty good for her but what about Leonard's life? If you read on here you would think his life is horrible because of her. She does have friends not hers like Leonard has his. She does have a good job but not doing what she loves like Leonard does. Would Leonard's life be better without Penny? Would he have been better off with Priya? No one can deny that Leonard adores her and by watching the show at times it seems like a one way street. But who is Penny with? Could she have sound someone else? If I remember correctly Leonard bragged as an alumni of his old school how things worked out well for him. I think things turned out well for both of them even though on the show it doesn't always appear that way.

A lot of what we have seen of Leonard and Penny this season has been for a (cheap) laugh as well as some tension filled moments.  We all know that Leonard adores Penny, but what we forget or tend not to focus on is that Penny equally adores Leonard.  She is different in the way she expresses her feelings (mostly keeping them bottled up).  If her feelings toward and love of Leonard were not equal to his, would she have agreed to proceed with the wedding even though she was hurt and maybe a little p.o'd.?  Her statement that he is not only "the love of my life, but my best friend" says volumes (quiet down over there anyone who wants to shout up the Sheldon/Penny friendship--her words "you're one of my favorite people"---not on a par with the "love of my live and my best friend").

After she has finally admitted out loud that she loves Leonard (wayyyy back in Season 6), think of the times when she felt challenged.  In the Valentine's Day episode after the disasterous dinner with the Wolowitz', the panic in her voice "are you breaking up with me" was more than evident.  Her fear (that continued with Mandy) that someone like Alex could sweep "the love of her life" away was eye-opening. 

We focus on Mrs. Hofstadter's snark and not on her love.  Unfortunately TBBT is a comedy and the romantic moments that we are allowed to see don't occur as often as we like, or as we think the couple deserve.

Anyway, I guess my point here is to maybe come to the defense of Penny.....comments???

I didn't notice before, but is she wearing one of his new non-hoddie overshirts??  If not they have a pretty good bit of "his and hers" outfit coordination going on!  Loving the Lenny!!

Totally agree with what you said.  This is the going to seem like an off the wall comment but Leonard gets excused, not as often and with less excuses, like Sheldon does. And Penny mistakes are much more noticed and much more pointed out similarily to Amy. It seems people are more willing to give the guys a break.

Okay I didn't notice that before, but they are wearing the same style jackets, his and hers, that is so something a married couple would do and is adorable.  They subconsciously or on purpose what to identify that he is with her and she is with him.

I think the writers love to make things challenging for lenny even if married now. I cannot fathom as to why penny does not support her husband on his argument with sheldon. I sense payback feeling cause Leonard kept the bank account secret from her. ( no pun intended towards penny,  as a lenny that is  out the question ,) Sheldon is like her brother, she has to choose.  I sense amy  having jealousy issues cause if penny.

Leonard has accepted since the begging that he does what she wants. At the restaurant on Valentine's episode, when Leonard said to penny " you are right, I am stupid,  you are pretty "  the hat situation was if the same. As long he does what penny wishes, he will be okay. :-)

To me it looks as if she has simply put on one of his jackets for convenience. Since they are basically the same height, it should fit her well

You have to look close at the zippers, her zipper is opposite of his meaning she is wearing a version made for woman and he is wearing one made for men.  (They are not completely the same but are very close.)  So we can assume they were out shopping together, one of them wanted the jacket and the other saw one like it for them and bought it, or they purposely bought jackets that sort of matched, either way doing that it is a way to identify they are together to others and it is something people in love do.

YMMV, and this is completely a matter of perception, but I don't think Leonard's behavior gets excused at all. On this forum alone, with primarily Shamys and Lennys in attendance, he's regularly crucified. And I'm not even going near to what your everyday, run-of-the-mill Shenny thinks of him. Leonard get called out regularly and volubly for his behaviors: the electric can opener, the Alice kiss, the North Sea kiss, being a serial cheater, not supporting Penny enough, being a misogynist and only loving Penny for her looks, wimpy, and spineless are the few recurring yowls about him that come up frequently and regularly. 

I think the difference that with Leonard's behaviors he shows regret and remorse but with Penny, especially this season, she written with bitchy snark and is completely dismissive of her husband with no explanations given and her behavior persists.

I think he gets criticized more on the other thread,. I'm not saying he doesn't on this thread but people, including myself, will give him a break. As for my example if Penny kissed a guy like Leonard kissed Mandy people would not have been as charitable to her. Ever. I don't disagree with what you said about this season but still believe Penny has given up a lot more to be with Leonard than the other way around.
