Ship Zone [Spoiler Free] Shamy: Season 9

Can someone give me a recommendation for a Shamy fanfic? Obviously one that is spoiler free. I mostly read one shots but I also enjoy longer stories. I am really looking for anything, but I particularly enjoy fanfics with Shamy babies.

Pretty much my only requirement is that it has Shamy in it and I can read it without having to worry about there being spoilers in it. I used to read fanfic all the time, but I haven't in awhile. I enjoy cute and fluffy ones over angsty one, but I also don't mind a little angst now and then. As far as rating goes anything is fine. Fluffy ones that are K are fun to read but so are smutty ones that are M. I'm sorry I am being so vague. I just want to read some recent fanfic, and would love any kind of recommendations.

I would recommend @nerdforestgirl's "Double Date Conundrum" in fanfiction.net. Definitely very fluffy and IC. Try reading her other fanfics there, too. They're really good.

Okay...our babies are growing up. And I'm not just not talking about Shamy...I'm talking about all of them. I now know how my parents felt when my big bro got married.

I had light fun with the episode. My favorite moment wasn't Shamy. It was when Howard and Leonard came back to the lab, told their wives the truth, and groveled with flowers and dates. Why? Because I honestly expected the humor to come from the boys lying and them actually getting caught by the girls. But no, tptb gave us sweet, honest husbands who loved their wives - and the joke was on Raj who got stuck in the closet, which he kind of deserved a little bit since he wanted to make out with married girls. They tiny "Yes" was really cute in the end and I forgave him for that.

On our babies...waaaaaah! I can't believe how fluffy this was, it's almost surreal, like it came out of a fanfic. I didn't expect the writers to kinda admit Sheldon's psychological issues since they've been denying it for years, always saying "He's just Sheldon. Sheldon is Sheldon." But away from that now.

This is another solid proof that Amy knows Sheldon more than he thinks he does. She knows what would make him happy (the laptop choice), what would tick him off (the 'wh' sounds in words with w's only), what would make him feel okay (the whole storage scene). But how she knows his mind so well is how little she knows how he feels, mostly toward her. Her bewildered look in the storage room when he apologizes because she might already think less of him. I love that they are sometimes so clueless about how one feels about the other, it adds mystery in their relationship, and a little tug in my heart from a viewer's perspective. Sheldon is not on his guard when he's around Leonard or Penny. But with Amy, he's on his defenses, tiptoeing on his emotions because he is afraid she'll think less of him.

On the physical scenes or lack thereof, I can honestly say I can't complain. They never touched once but their conversation transcends boundaries beyond the physical. Sheldon's walls are breaking down, it's almost like seeing a robot take off its metal suit to reveal that it was an actual living human inside it. And of course, Jim Parsons' bed pose, smiling and grinning like a love struck teenager...I can't. This is the fourth time I remember seeing them in bed together (D&D, coitus, apology tour, and this) and I still freaking freak out. They had sex people. But they eye coitus still gets me, especially that one during tea time.

I think I've said enough...but nearly not enough so I'll shut up now. Loved the fluff, I just wish someone would right a dirty talk fanfic picking up from the tag.

And oh, even if he did in fact roll the golf ball back in the storage, doesn't this show how much he wanted to show Amy that he's willing to do it for her? Baby steps she said. That was more like a crawling baby step, but then....baby steps right?

I just watched the episode and I really liked it very much. I liked both plots, the non-shamy because it was funny and sweet, the shamy one because it touched me deeply and made me “awww” at the same time . Shamy feelings…

I enjoyed that episode very much. It was very nice to get a Shamy plot that was unique and cute. The end skype scenes were really adorable. It was a long wait for this episode but this time the waiting paid off. Looking forward to the end of the season. I wonder if there will be a proposal in the last few episodes of the season. It will be really cool to see how Sheldon does it.

New episode. Yay! Didn't have the time to post my thoughts about it after watching since life got in the way.

@becauseimsunny probably covered almost everything but here are my thoughts on the other aspects of the episode. We were given a hint of what to come as Sheldon showed much attachment to his computer, not wanting to replace it with a new one. We know that he wants the best of everything. The way the story progressed is a breath of fresh air not just because tptb is admitting that Sheldon has psychological issues but him acknowledging it, calling himself a fraud. Though Sheldon opened this side of him to Amy, he still wants her to think highly of him and he wants to protect that. This is evident in other occasions but was only spoken of now.

By the way, isn't the computer monetarily quantifiable? Why is Sheldon not making any fuss about it? And did anyone notice Sheldon's voice during their conversations? It's like that "after-kiss voice" over again in S07E15 and S08E24. Soft, subtle and intimate. Not to mention, sexy. He speaks that way when he's alone with Amy. 

About Shamy coitus:
Amy signed a Non-disclosure agreement before they did IT. So that's why there were no girl talk or boy talk, even on the side. Well, except for Raj, of course. I was expecting Penny (Queen of Shamy shippers) to be all over Amy asking her about how things happened or how it felt then she and Bernadette will fangirl scream, etc. but I'm over it. The mention of the agreement gave me closure.

Favorite Lines/Scenes:
• Amy, in that green top while skyping with Sheldon, is just glowing. I hope she'd wear that color more in the show. It really brings out her eyes.
• Amy - "Get a new computer!" on the phone.
• Sheldon whining about the computer Amy bought for him and ends up it having all the specs he would have chosen himself and eventually yields.
• Bernadette - "...It's like a beer commercial." followed by Howard's wink and Bernie's smile. So cute!
• Leonard blabbering about solder and Penny stops her saying it's not a funny story at all.
• Penny - "Okay. So what... is solder?" (Queen Penny is adorable!)
• Amy - "H-watch me."
• Raj - "Yes" in a high-pitched voice.
• Amy - "I would like to tell you that there is nothing here to be ashamed of... So I'm gonna need a minute"
• Raj's being-in-the-closet-and-him-coming-out-of-it puns.
• Leonard and Howard being honest and apologizing to their wives. ❤
• Sheldon - "It's still a couple of hours before my bedtime." and seductively moved his eyebrows up and down.

Headcanon on how Amy ended up sitting on top of the shelf. Sheldon definitely helped her up.

I was kind of upset that the information about the ring is already known to Amy but I'm still expecting the most Sheldon proposal possible, if there will be one this season. I'm curious of how the writers will do it but I want to be surprised as what they normally do to me, to us. I know it will be a Shamy brand of fluff! ❤

Cute episode. Highlight for me was the tag with Shamy playing never have I ever. I loved Amy's delivery of we all have a past. I also enjoyed Amy's line of "never have I ever rocked my girlfriend's world in bed", and Sheldon's response. Shamy being all cute. I love it.

I really enjoyed the new episode! And I’m glad I was spoiler-free, because it felt exciting not to know what would happen in the forest cabin. I felt like fanfiction coming true, though I hoped we would get some share-a-bed-together lines. Still we don’t really know whether they did “it” again, do we? (I do not get everything due to language barrier)
My favourites:

 

-          the Shamy innuendos, (“safety first”, “we all have a past”)

-          the way Sheldon and Amy acted together on that couch, Sheldon feeling so comfortable with Amy

-          the grow-up scene between Penny and Leonard. I like it when the show goes deeper. And I so wanted to encourage Penny to look after a job that really fulfills her, after paying off debts

-          The bear!!!! And Raj carrying that bear away

-          Bernadette pregnancy hormone crying

-          Babys heartbeat and the happiness it causes

 

I thought by myself: Wow, even after such a long showrunning time they create really funny lines and scenes! Thumbs up!

I have noticed that they have changed her hairstyle recently. I do like the wavy hair instead of the straight one. I still think that the proposal will happen this season, but you never know they could save it for next season. I can't talk too much about it because this is the Shamy thread but I have told people that if there is not a Shamy proposal then I at least want a definite changing of the living arrangements. This whole Sheldon, Penny, and Leonard living together is getting really old. We're down to the final 4 of the season. Will there be any more Shamy developments this season or will they simply cruise right on through since they got so much development in the beginning of the season? Selfishly I want the final episodes to be focused on them, realistically, I think they will be focused on Penny and her career and Bernadette and her baby.

I’m very late to the new episodes discussion party, but I really enjoyed these last two shows! I went to the taping for “The Big Bear Precipitation”, so I saw both it and 9.19 quite a while ago.

“The Solder Excursion Diversion” had great moments for Shamy. It obviously was not sexual in any way, but they shared some intimate moments nonetheless. Sure, someday it’d be nice to find out that Sheldon has become well-versed in cardigan removal, but I think these personal exchanges are just important for their relationship's growth as any kind of physical intimacy.

As for the tag scene, I know I’ve posted in here before about not wanting to see a return of their old dynamic, where Sheldon is clueless while Amy is desperate. The computer chat at Sheldon’s bedtime didn’t bother me, though. It was a fitting end to an episode that was all about non-sexual intimacy.

In spite of all that, I do think they should address the coitus thing again soon. It would be really weird to get back to Amy’s birthday before it is addressed. I mean, that line from Sheldon was funny, but if it only ever happens on her birthday, it will look like he is only doing it for her sake. I don't think anyone wants to be left with that impression.

“The Big Bear Precipitation” was very funny. Raj with the bear, of course, was amazing. Sheldon and Amy playing ‘Never have I ever’ was fantastic too. I’ve missed their goofy way of playing games together, and it was a welcome return of the Amy who always had so much in common with Sheldon. The cabin setting with a fire and wine sounds so romantic, but they were still very much themselves, romancing in their own uniquely Shamy way.

The game play was very innocent, of course. They couldn’t get each other to drink for even the silliest of things, but it was still such a flirty interaction. Sheldon looked so proud of himself when Amy got him to drink for ‘completely rocking’ her world in bed. Drama-free Shamy is the best. Also, this episode is the first time that I can remember a completely genuine laugh from Sheldon.

I'm looking forward to the last 4 episodes of the season. Hopefully we'll get some more great Shamy moments.

hey!!  We were just discussing with @2L344 how we both didn't realize either in the taping or even after watching the episode! that 'Big Bear' was not only about the cabin but also about Raj's bear! We only picked up on it after other people mentioned it in the Shamy Spoiler thread after watching the episode lol! 
I was curious, did you realize it at the taping??

And did you think the episode turned out to be as good as it seemed at the taping? I thought it turned out to be amazing!

I did realize the multiple meanings of Big Bear. They actually use both meanings for 'precipitation' as well. Precipitation as rain for the cabin plot, and precipitation meaning a sudden, hasty action, or falling down for the giant teddy bear plot. The titles can be pretty clever, kind of like how "The Opening Night Excitation" was not just a Star Wars based excitement for that night 

I thought the episode turned out to be fantastic! I'm glad we got to see a taping that had such adorable Shamy interactions. Watching them film multiple takes of scenes like those is pretty special.

I meant to reply to this before, but yesterday's post was already becoming a wall o' text. Anyway, a big yes to the bold. The living arrangements make no sense at this point, and changing that up would be refreshing. Unfortunately, I'm not so sure that they'll have the courage to change the basic setup of the show.

More Shamy for the end of the season would be great as long as they don't leave us with another dramatic cliffhanger. I don't want another train trip or breakup kind of ending. Comedy and character development would be welcome, though.
