I've been kind of lucky because I got into the show proper a few months back watching the 8 seasons on Netflix and then pretty much a week after I saw the Season 8 finale and felt absolutely devastated at the breakup they started showing Season 9 over here in the UK on TV.

So I never had to suffer during the summer like some of you must have wondering about Shamy and how or when they were going to get back together. I could imagine it was a really tense time. At least we know this summer there will be none of that.:icon_biggrin:

I started seriously watching (as opposed to just catching a few episodes here and there) not too long before the season 8 finale aired. I didn't see the season finale when it first premiered though, as whenever I find a TV show I like I always go back and watch the episodes in order from the beginning, (I never want to miss anything!) so it took me a while to get caught up lol. But I actually found out what was going to happen before I watched the actual episode... My sister is also a big fan of the show, and when she found out I watched TBBT one of the first things she said to me was, "Oh! Have you seen the season eight finale where [insert entire plot here]?" ...I was heartbroken. *Sigh* :sorry:

But anyway, I'm just glad I can have a more relaxing Summer this year! Instead of worrying about whether or not they will get back together, we can reflect on all of the cute Shamy moments from this season and focus on our wishlists for season 10. :)

Oh, I don't think that Sheldon paying Stuart and all the stuff was bad at all. In fact, I loved seeing him impersonating Amy. It was so funny that I watched that scene like, 5 times in a row. Beverly was more human, which is a great thing, her dynamic with Penny was nice, Sheldon looked more "normal" (like the regular guys in real life) but still him at the same time. Yes, I expected a real apologies at the end, but that's fine. It doesn't nulls everything they accomplished this season and by the past 5 years.

Now I'm looking forward to see the finale and finally have my thoughts about Alfred and Mary, this weird pair they are (I'll not call them couple for now). Seriously, for now, this is so...I have no adjectives yet.

9x19 was already filmed by the time PaleyFest came around and Jim still wanted more. So no, this doesn't match the Captain's standards of quality pillow talk! LOL

(I love that he's as much of a ~needy baby greedy baby~ Shamy shipper as we are. Bless him.)

The audience watched The Solder Excursion Diversion at Paleyfest right before the panel.

She said it took her five years, so it's after the break-up.

It took her five years for what?

ETA: In Herb Garden, Sheldon calls Amy a vixen.

I just found this description of a "Little Vixen":-

An astonishing, unimaginable creature of sorts which embodies everything that is sexy and all things of which is considered desirable, pleasurable, and sexual... She encompasses all...this unique being with a intoxicating candy sweet skin, full-lips, curvaceous hips, long smooth legs, entrancing silky warm voice, eyes which could cause flames in the hearts of men, and hair that fingers would get lost in.... She can and will make any man fall down to their knees and submit to her ...Unlike sirens or succubus of mythology and folklore she is no myth and actually exist and lives among us...She is the goddess...the temptress...the mistress among mistresses...a beauty the thing that desires and fantasies are made of and what the male mind could only possibly conjure up from dreams... shes the un-tamable the un-corruptible only unless her one vice her kryptonite maybe present...

To get Sheldon to give her a massage. Well that's is what she said to Beverly anyway.

Wow...it seems that the person who wrote this actually was caught by one of these. When I watched this particular episode for the first time, I searched the meaning of this word, too. All that I found was that a vixen is a attractive and highly intelligent woman which, at the same time, has a very active sexual life, but I don't think the second part is 100% true, althought I found this:

"Vixen

Totaly gorgeous and amzing human female. With the cutest smile and a sweet ass body. Loves partying and drinks a lot but is still incredibly smart. But be warned, can get extremly horny and may jump you unexpectedly.

Wow man Lauren is like such a Vixen, my crotch is buldging!"

(definition can be found here: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Vixen)

So I think Sheldon already felt things for her since the beginning. Emotionally or physically, I don't know LOL

Just noticed sth of no consequence that annoyed me a bit: Bernadette wondering if it could be Sheldon at the door without the triple knock. I don't nitpick most of the time but this annoyed me for some reason.

Oh, and wouldn't it have been funny if Stuart had knocked three times like Sheldon? :icon_biggrin:

He didn't do the triple knock in The Separation Oscillation, clearly because he didn't want Amy to know it was him.   So they may thought he was doing the same thing this time.

I remember in the TR (or in the chat soon after the episode) somebody mentioned Stuart knocked three times just like Sheldon; maybe there was something going on with the editing...or maybe my memory  tricked me since, as you said, if Stuart was impersonating Sheldon, he should have impersonated also his compulsive knocking, LOL!

Although, if Amy had really wanted to check, she could've looked through the door peephole.

And used a recording of Sheldon.

They would have known it's not Sheldon even if Stuart did the the three knocks. Sheldon speaks when he knocks as well, knock knock knock amy x3.

Well we pretty much know we aren't going to get any developments related to Shamy in the finale so I guess what I would like to see is perhaps some nice interaction between Shamy and Sheldon's mother in the finale. But I am not sure we will get that, it looks like she has been brought in this time to play off Leonard's mother and dad.

Maybe they will bring Mary back if they do eventually get engaged in a prelude to the wedding. I just thought it would be nice for Amy and Mary to interact and get to know each other a bit more.

Wow over 1000 pages now, although I'm really late for the party;-)

I just wanted to ask: There was one finale ep where Penny said she wished Leonard wouldn't go to the arctic which they didn't show before airing. So couldn't it be possible that we still might see a final scene in ep 9x24 with Shamy cuddling in bed and Sheldon smirking, "See little vixen what happens if I don't set the timer for the massage" and Amy answers out of breath: "works for me";-)

I had no idea there was precedent for a secret scene, but I was hoping for one anyway.  It feels weird to start the season with 2 major plots, the wedding and the break up, and only close the arc on one with the redo wedding and not have any Shamy at all.  I hope you're right.

I guess it's possible as they do record some scenes without the audience there, sounds more like wishful thinking tbh. Besides the end scene sounds hilarious with Sheldon and Leonard wondering what their parents are doing, I doubt they would change that.

You mean it wasn't taped in front of an audience? Anyway, regardless, the bed!kiss in 9x11 was something they kept a secret, so why not do it again after they've built things up so much? I'll say though, my hope for that is minuscule.

As for the massage thing, I don't think we'll hear anything about it again. My headcanon is that she was talking about pre-break-up Sheldon. It makes more sense...for now, at least.

I was hoping though for some Amy/Mary interaction, almost more than Amy/Sheldon. Mary is a rarity in the show.

Yeah, I'm not holding my breath for a secret surprise scene either - especially nothing big. There are already plenty of scenes in the TR that should fill up the screen time. It doesn't sound like there's something missing.

I'm rather looking out for something nice in terms of the characters' interaction, maybe a nice little line or cute gesture, something like that.

I was watching "The Leftover Thermalization" 8x18 on syndication last night, where Sheldon is trying to break to Leonard that his name was left off of the article in Scientific American about their paper.

Leonard is seated at his desk in 4A and Sheldon comes over and stands behind his chair and gives him a neck and shoulder massage.  When Leonard says, "uh that, that's not necessary", he is asking Sheldon to stop the impromptu massage.

Sheldon: They didn’t mention you in the article. Only me.

Leonard: Really?

Sheldon: I know. It’s not fair. Let the anger go, buddy. You just, you relax all your muscles. Except for your pubococcygeus and anal sphincter. Let’s keep those tight.

Leonard: Uh, that, that’s not necessary.

So Sheldon has a history of giving neck massages.

I'm pretty sure Amy wasn't referring to that kind of massages, LOL!

I was wondering whether the writers were aware that a line about a three minutes massage could create such a mess in the fandom and if they put in that line all the thoughts we are putting in it right now. Maybe not...and that's the problem...

Mayim said that a number of different endings for 9x11 were taped, including a snuggle.  In the end, they went for what she called the "giggle".  I think Molaro really loves the once a year line, and he is deliberately dragging out future intimacy between Sheldon and Amy for this reason.  Simple as that.

However, for the last half of S9, Sheldon has been loosening up.  Our totally controlled, almost robotic guy is moving with much more freedom.  All setting up for a giving up of control scene, hopefully early in S10.

I highly DOUBT they ever thought people would read into a 3 min line so much.  Personally I'm stunned by some of the fandom and their reactions.  To each is own, but for me I'm stunned that any Shamy fan cannot see all the positives in the episode.  And how many days later are still harping on line a few lines in an overall positive episode.

I seriously left saying "go Amy" for numerous reasons.  And how just like a real marriage or strong relationship, not every fight/error needs a drawn out apology/kiss/make-up/etc.....
