Ok, so after reading TR from kerrycec03 (thank you very much), I'm starting to think the sex issue between Shamy will come back later for more episodes and maybe become a storyline between them.

In my opinion, Sheldon's decision in this episode is more about love than desire. He loves Amy and wants to show it to her and sex is a way to do that. Not saying that he didn't enjoy it, but this is not like the SIK or the kiss in 910, where he can't control himself. He wanted to have sex with Amy on her next birthday and Amy replied "That's fine.". I don't think Amy only wants sex once a year but she sure will not push Sheldon into sex. So I guess maybe the writers will let Sheldon discover his sexual desire more later (in a hilarious way). Of course we don't want him to turn into a regular guy, but I'd like to see him find Amy sexually attractive.

Some may argue that Sheldon is demisexual and I agree. However, since this is a sitcom on CBS, I doubt they’ll talk about things as serious as this. They want happy endings for everybody, right? Or at least I hope so.

I wonder how their relationship might change after that. Will there be more touching? Will they joke about their sex life or will they keep it to themselves?

 

Sheldon has always been the "no-touching" one, while Amy has been wanting more for a long time now. Maybe their dynamics will change and Sheldon will want more intimacy more often.

Also, being the germophobe he is, I wonder how Sheldon will rationalize... exchanging bodily fluids with someone. lol

Amy's not afraid that he'll freak out if she touches him now, so they'll be more touching, hugging and kissing.  More importantly, I think they both now know that together they can overcome and achieve  just about anything.

Ever since the news broke the forum was collapsing from Shamy overload. It had issues all day long ranging from long loading times, over tons of double post glitches, to completely crashing! lol

And we don't want him to change like that.  He shouldn't have to give up on the things he likes and I think Amy wouldn't want that either.  But he has learnt that sometimes you have to sacrifice things for the one you love.  He knows he will get to see SW sooner or later, but he knew it was more important that on her birthday that she was the priority. 

I hope that in a future episode that there is a mention that Amy took Sheldon to see SW not long after this, because I think that is what she would do for him.

We already know.  It was mentioned already.  Tag scene, proton visits him again to ask him how it went.  Sheldon starts talking about the movie and proton asks what about Amy and he says what she thought of the movie.  The joke was proton was asking about sex and it went over Sheldon's head (supposedly).   But keep in mind, proton is actually just in Sheldon's head.

OK I think I finally have my faculties to write something coherent lol...

I'm still in shock. I'm just... in total disbelief still. I think it will actually take me watching the actual episode before I fully process it, and maybe not even then! Sheldon and Amy had sex. It feels so weird to be waiting for so long and then all of a sudden, it's there. It happened. I am completely stunned by the perfection of this episode. Just... everything about it. Every tiny little thing. But I think a part of me feels so weird! Anyone else feel like that?

I'm very strangely emotional about it. Just reading the two reports I get very misty at certain spots. I keep reading the reports over and over forcing them to sink in! Just... wow.

Just the very idea of Sheldon giving up his ticket to see Star Wars for Amy puts a lump in my throat! This TOTALLY ties into the finale and the Flash comment. But what I love is that they didn't totally change Sheldon. He still loves all his nerdy things. He just loves his Amy more. Awwww!!

"He cares about Amy so much that being intimate with her is something he want's to do. " Just !!! I keep thinking back to D&D coitus when he told her it was a possibility. How far has our boy come?? We've been getting little clues all season that he's ready. But I love this quote so much in that he cares so much for her that he wants to be intimate with her. And he wants everything to be absolutely perfect for her! Asking Penny advice, having dreams about it where he's virtually asking himself for advice, flowers!! Guys, his love for Amy literally could fill up the entire universe. I NEVER thought we'd see this level of love from him. And at the same time it's all so in-character! How are they doing this??

The "hi" "hello" bits are so effing cute OMG. I love how they're nervous. I love that Amy is very nervous and Sheldon calms her down. In truth he's just as nervous but he's being brave for her. "Let's find out together." Best. Quote. Of. The. Entire. Series. I get choked up just picturing this coming out of his mouth.

The embrace afterwards! HOLDING HANDS! That's so freaking cute and Shamy-like. It's like they just made love, but their innocence is still there. They're just a couple of kids figuring everything out.

How is this so perfect?? Forgive me for getting so crazy but seriously. It's more than I ever could have imagined. It's sweet, beautiful, funny, in-character, hot, tender, just everything!

I'm off to reread the reports for the umpteenth time LOL. Why do we have to wait so long to see these??

Haha I've pretty much just said this over on the discussion thread (yes I've welcoming the backlash!) its true though. Especially after his conversation with Leonard at the end of the Spock episode. He needs to choose real people in his life over the fictional people in his life. I guess cause Star Wars has been long awaited it's understandable, he's been hyped up about that before all this stuff with Amy blew up so why should he put Amy first when she's always known he'd pick SW. I'm convinced her reaction to Penny and Bernie revealing Sheldon's plans also had the 'OMG he's spending my birthday with me?!' element to it. Look at her last birthday when she spend it alone bless her. If only she knew what would happen a year on!

I'd like that too. Say that saw it the morning after.... after morning coitus of course
