Never mind Rachel, my hubbie isn't as keen as I am but he still watches with me ....although sometimes I prefer to watch myself anyway , you know if any parts need extra concentration , you know for *science * purposes !!!!! Like for example we are trying to really work out if Jim ever broke his collar bone and have to pause the TV at any point to check !!!!!!....... .

Plus in up coming episodes , we may have to pause TV again to check acting technique in any of them  ....erm maybe , well let's say .... After several months, Sheldon had accepted having no relationship with Amy at all.   He even said so in the beginning of the episode that Amy was not with him (as a friend or a girlfriend).   You can see the nervousness in his face when he Skypes Amy.   It so strange that even the word friendship is awkward between them.  Amy offers for them to go out again as friends.   Sheldon questioned it, but wants to go to the Aquarium.  He has no one to drive him.  He's uncomfortable, and even the list of internet questions he compiled to avoid awkwardness was awkward.

The more I think about the coitus question, he was not asking because he expected that he still had a chance with her.   He was asking out of mere curiosity and to find out if that was indeed one of the things she was seeking during the break up.   If she had, I think instead of being mad at her, he'd probably be mad at himself, realizing that it was just another area in their relationship where he failed to provide her what she needed.

In the car, Sheldon told Amy in response to her putting the cereal bag in the dash that he was not surprised she had gentlemen callers pounding at her door.   He was speaking in the present, not in the past.   I take this to mean he expected it to continue and realized if sex were really what she was after, she could have gotten it.    His mind is put at ease knowing that this is not part of what drove her away from him.

I noticed at the aquarium, Amy threw in Sponge Bob Square Pants in the three fish choices.    Sheldon said he couldn't befriend him because he's fictional.   Hmm, quite a change from someone who has always emulated fictional characters?   Then he said he would swallow a hagfish, whose slimy mucus would typically repulse him.  Hmm?   Sheldon immediately got serious just staring at the display in front of him.   What was he thinking about?  

When Amy says she's missed this, he asks how should could miss a game they've never played?   He was serious and walked away.  Perhaps the mention of the game was a cover.  Perhaps he was referring to this new side of him, the man who has been broken, who no longer puts fictional characters before people, who is trying to enjoy being around her now as a friend rather than focus on what he lost, a man who is feeling instead of just manufacturing motions, a man who has been trying to get more comfortable with intimacy.   How can she miss something she's only been around for a few hours and really does not know?

They went out as friends and had a good day.    Sheldon expected that they would just continue to be friends, not that they would have a reconciliation.  To me it was exciting to have Sheldon go back and tell Lenny that he had a good day with Amy and was happy to find that they could function as friends.  He meant that.   Again, he had no aspirations of a reconciliation.   

When Amy called and said she was ready to be his GF again, he was caught off guard.  He hesitated.   You could see emotion in his facial expression.   He cut her off.   He doesn't need her talking him into it.   It might work.   He said getting over her was not something he was good at.    He had finally accepted that they could be friends, and now she is asking him to re-open a wound that was finally starting to heal but had left a scar.    This is not mechanical Sheldon anymore with a wall up and a Relationship Agreement to protect him who would jump at the chance just to have her for himself.   He wants her company, but anything more than friends is not safe for him now.    He feels now.  He loves her and knows he's vulnerable to being hurt again.  He's had coitus on the brain.  He needs the safety of friendship and changed the subject immediately to something neutral and safe.

I agree with other posters that by learning that Amy has not rejected him after all and does want him back is the catalyst that gets the gears turning in his brain leading to the lyrics getting stuck in his head, his realization, and going after her to reconcile.  

Sheldon was not angry she was on a date.   He likely expected it and walked away apologizing for interrupting.    If he had not shown up when he did, I wonder just how far things would have gotten with Dave.   It seemed Amy had given up on Sheldon as she thought Sheldon had with her.

Thankfully, Sheldon's brain combined with his feelings saved the day and their relationship.    I believe Sheldon had been considering intimacy with Amy before the break up, but was still thinking through it.   After reconciliation, he stopped thinking and started feeling, and that made all the difference and explains why it happened so quickly.   I would go so far as to say that there was a lot of healing between the two of them in their consummation through physical expressions that words just simply can't touch.   Their handholding afterward is telling.

I'm with you on this. As I've stated other times, I think we'll get less Shamy-dominating plots from now on. That doesn't mean they'll be forgotten. Quite the contrary IMO. I'm sure the writers will show us, to quote Mayim, their "whole other new tension" pretty subtly. Without that constant stress that has characterised their story this season, I mean. I'm hoping for sweet (with little hints of sensuality) and old-fashioned Shamy moments. And lots of laughs, of course! I think our fandom deserves them  Can't wait!!! *dances happily*

No that's not the collarbone.  I broke my collarbone when I was 17, it didn't heal right (mainly because I wouldn't wear the brace like I was supposed to during the school day because it made me look like a football player), and in my skinnier days, you can see it and it's more towards the front (the bottom of Jim's neck in my pick, right below the bump I'm referring to is his collarbone).

Oh, I'm sorry to hear about you injury.   Thanks for the clarification on the anatomy.   I just thought perhaps they way they've written Harrison Ford's chin scar into many of his scenes and Parminder Nagra's leg scar in Bend It Like Beckham, they could have done the same thing here.

I know we would like to see other stories in the show and maybe lighten up on Shamy but I am wondering why the writers concentrated so much on this story.  I understand the time factor as we only have as someone pointed out 37 more shows to go before it ends.  However, they could have started down this road a lot sooner (even a year earlier) to give them extra time.  So I'm not sure it was just a time factor.  It would be interesting to live inside of the writers' head right now to understand their thinking.  Just my two cents.

Looks like it's just his trapezius muscle. It can look a bit weird depending on how developed it is due to workout, one's body movement and camera angle. Nothing to worry about from what I can tell.

I don't want to harsh the buzz, but I am really sad if the shows ends as someone points out there are only 37 shows left. However, I just have this feeling that the show won't stop at season 10, there will be at least 1 or 2 seasons left.

I'm a bit confused, because I've heard it several times now that Sheldon's comment should be just a joke. I know he always takes things very literally, and he said he couldn't wait for her next birthday to do it again if I remember correctly. That means for me that he literally can't wait, so he'd want to repeat it much earlier. So for me it was clear that this would become a regular occurence, although they might probably only mention it as those off-screen moments or when Leonard needs to borrow Sheldon's noise-cancelling headphones or when Amy takes yoga lessons with Penny to improve that opening angle of her hips...

yes, I pointed out that there are 37 episodes left. If they continue to season 11, it would be nice, depending on what stories are left to tell.

... I guess we'll find out by this summer.

If it's any consolation, Jim Parson feels the same way.   He's thinking S11 and got a little irritated on his interview with Dan Patrick for implying he would ever leave the show.

Like you, I hope it continues.   I can't imagine a life right now without more Shamy and Lenny to look forward to.

I don't even want to think about the show ending.. Luckily they have contracts trough next season, but I have a feeling as well that they might go up till 11 seasons. Jim said recently that he has a hunch about 11th season and when has our Captain been wrong. Of course you never know about tv.

Oh I hope so much the show goes to 11 seasons! Jim seems to be a prophet in a way and is usually right when it comes to Shamy. You can tell he cares so deeply about the relationship (Mayim does too, she just sees things a different way). And that's why Shamy has so much depth and chemistry. We have two outstanding actors on our hands, but I think, like Mayim said about herself, they both have very emotional reactions to what happens themselves, so it's easier for them to get the emotions for Sheldon and Amy across. I'm sure the reason the love-making scenes are so beautifully done is because 1) the writers put so much thought and care into writing it, 2) because Mayim and Jim are just simply incredible actors, and 3) Mayim and Jim have undoubtedly been waiting for this moment and it probably means as much to them as it does Sheldon and Amy.

I went off on a little tangent lol. But yes, I hope the show goes to 11 seasons. Shamy still have so much left to do.

I agree.  Sheldon said he enjoyed it more than he thought he would.  At first I also thought it was a joke and that Sheldon meant that they would wait until her next birthday.   Amy agreed that was fine.   There is no way at all that now she has him completely she is going to wait that long to have him again, especially since it seems Sheldon took her on a pleasant journey of a lifetime.    Her agreement indicated that she understood that he literally cannot wait until her next birthday.   The fact that they held hands and cuddled afterward shows just how comfortable Sheldon was with it all.

I still can't get passed the description of the way Amy looked afterward.   When Sheldon does something, boy does he do it right, and he must have put a heck of a lot of pent of years of feeling into it.   So Hot!!!

Now that Shamy are past the will they won't they have coitus issue, I certainly hope that the writers won't have Amy pining for it from Sheldon now that she knows what they can accomplish in bed together.   I want their sex to bonding and something they look forward together, not an area of contention where Amy has to beg.   They've already been there and done that just trying to get to the initial coitus.  

I want to see them working through other issues like navigating daily life together and decisions as a couple.   I want to see comedy brought on by the fact that Shamy are now intimate.   We don't necessarily need to see them in bed to enjoy it.   It can be brought up in conversation.   What will be their cues?  Will the tables be turned where Lenny are taunted occasionally by Shamy?

I hope they don't let this issue die, but it doesn't have to be the focus of the show either.

I thought that he just has well defined trapezius muscles, you can see them when he is front facing but they are more accentuated on the left when he turns like that.

Jim was so cute in that interview. Clearly, he doesn't want the show to end either. Dan kept jokingly getting under his skin, "After two years, Jim Parsons walks away from the Big Bang Theory...."

This is exactly what I'm hoping for. I don't want it to become Shamy's sex show, but I don't want them to ignore the subject completely. I also think there's so much possible comedy about this new development of their relationship. I'm actually intrigued to see which way the writers will write Sheldon from now on. Will sex still be insignificant to him or will he learn that he indeed has urges? How will they fit this new-found intimacy in their relationship, will they try to schedule the act? As do you, I also hope that they don't make Amy beg for it.. I want to see balanced, equal relationship between them, but of course with a Shamy twist.
