I still cannot get over how much of a giant tree Dave really is.   Sheldon and Amy are like tiny bugs next to him. 

You know Sheldon and Amy totally heard what he has saying and chose to ignore him, otherwise Amy wouldn't have known to kick the door shut as he was walking out.   I enjoy the way Sheldon doesn't care that they are being watched or that he is being worshipped, that his total focus is on Amy.   I mean, Dave called him sir.

Amy must be intoxicated by his baby powder and being able to caress those back and shoulder muscles.   She is one lucky girl.   Goes all her life without a guy, and she lands Sheldon.   Wow just Wow!    Yeah, the guy is annoying, but he's definitely got enough charm to make up for it.

It seems Mayim and Jim are trying not to laugh into each other's mouths.   I'll take it that Amy is just extremely happy that Sheldon is kissing her the way he is.

If Jim did try to tongue her, I wonder what she had to say about it later.

After Sheldon decided not to attend Star Wars, And instead to spend the time with Amy. He showed no regret or any 'Sheldon like' behaviour about missing Star Wars. He was so focused on making his night with Amy perfect. He was happy, He is madly in love and he is well, ready to make love to her. It was an outstanding performance from both sides. Amy's reaction to finding out her birthday gift and her own preparation is hilarious, cute and down right Emmy nominating genius. And then we see her in a nervous but happy light. And trust me guys. Kunal's question to Mayim at Comic Con this past summer has been amped up to a whole new level. We're going to go from "Mayim, what's it like to kiss Jim Parsons on TBBT?" to "Mayim, what's like to neck with Jim Parsons for a good 5 minutes or so on national TV?"  LOL.  Oh these scenes are so going to come up in any interviews they do going forward and I can't wait for their responses.  Smart ass Jim and poor Mayim laughing while trying to rein him in.

It amazing what a difference a few years make. Instead of concentrating on work, I kept thinking about Shamy

The Flaming Spittoon Acquisition:

• Sheldon: Alright, that's enough about it. Sorry to interrupt. You two enjoy your date.

While Amy says nothing to stop him from leaving.

The Earworm Reverberation:

• Sheldon:  Well... I'll let you get back to your date.
• Amy: Get back here!

Such a different reaction from both of them.

Sheldon's "Well..." says it all. He doesn't want to really leave but it would be rude to interrupt. Amy's excited words and uses her quick ninja skills to grab her man and locks lips!

Another thing I noticed was that Sheldon was so much in the Amy Zone that he shook hands with Dave automatically. I don't think I've ever seen him do that.

His embrace with Amy seemed like a declaration that she belonged to him. I don't think that we could have slid a piece of paper between them during those kisses .  Dave's reaction makes me wonder how long they were kissing...

IF, we don't hear anything about a Season 11, I wouldn't be surprised if the whole cast makes a final appearance at Comic Con this coming summer.  Kind of a start of the "farewell tour" so to speak.  "How I Met Your Mother" did that very thing.

If Amy had slept with Dave, she would have been well in her right to do so.   As far as she was concerned, Sheldon didn't want her anymore.   I think Sheldon even respected that when he realized that he interrupted her date, and I think he would have politely exited the premises if Amy did not tell him it was okay and urge him to continue with what he was trying to say.   When Sheldon said, "If you want to be my girlfriend," he didn't assume that was what she wanted.   Perhaps he thought he really messed up by refusing her offer to get back together and that she had decided to move on after all.

If Sheldon had not shown up, I do see the potential for Amy to have ended up in the bedroom with Dave.   However, I would like to believe that Amy would have recognized that it didn't feel right and would have stopped it before it got too far.    I also believe Dave wouldn't have allowed it either.   He just seems like too nice of a guy to take advantage of a woman who is not sure what she wants.   Perhaps he assumed she had slept with Sheldon, and that would have made sleeping with her more appealing, as creepy as it sounds.   We don't even know if he knew she was a virgin, and if he did know, perhaps that in itself would have prohibited anything from happening.  

The fact is that we just don't know, but I think there was room there for Amy to go for it with Dave if Sheldon had not shown up when he did.    Amy has admitted that she acts silly sometimes.    She acts so mature like she knows what she is doing and has her mind made up around everyone else, but turns into a puddle of mud where Sheldon is concerned.   People do desperate things when they feel rejected, unloved, and unwanted.

What I'm a little bothered by is that she is not wearing tights on her date with Dave, but on the night she knows she is going to get intimate with Sheldon, she is.    Less barriers with Dave and more with Sheldon.    I'll just settle that she wasn't trying to be dressed up and be fancy for Dave, but she wanted to be so for Sheldon, even going through a horrendous waxing to be perfect for him.

I haven't posted in a very long time, but I just have to say WOW. I am truly amazed that the writers managed to pull this reconciliation off so gracefully, and so perfectly. It all fits and makes sense and it's just BEAUTIFUL. I cannot stop thinking about that whole final scene.

 

Also, would someone repost (or direct me to) the TR for 9.11? What happened to our TR thread?

OMFG!!!  Do you guys SERIOUSLY not know who the fuck Amy Farrah Fowler is??!!  She's NOT Penny (no offense but here me out).  Or even more accurate, Leonard.

I can see Penny, hell even Bernie, sleep with someone on a rebound.  But Amy?  The big talker?  The one who's all bark and no bite?  I highly doubt Dave would've gotten past 2nd base, if that.  She's inexperienced.  And as nervous and shaky as she is with SHELDON, someone she's known for over 5 years, do you really think she'd actually sleep with Dave that night?  Someone she's only known for less than 6 months?  

Granted, she's "ahead" of Sheldon in regards to social stuff but not by much.  And she also doesn't like being touched.  Like I said after the TR, she pulled away with that first kiss and even after seeing it, it was still a first reaction which is telling.  Sure she said she was being silly and went in for the kiss.  But sex is a hell of a lot more serious than kissing.  And I honestly believe Amy wouldn't have let it go that far.  A girl like Amy isn't the type to just sleep with anyone.  If she was, she wouldn't still be a virgin.

It's over. Some people were mean to the writers at twitter after the first episodes, who wasn't very pleasant to watch, and maybe that's why it doesn't exist anymore.

Yeah, a small part of me was wondering if the opening scene with his urge to urinate in the middle of the night was actually in reference to another urge he was fighting.   However, sometimes a cake really is just a cake.

Anyway, I would like to know what happened as well.    I may be in the minority, but I don't think Sheldon spent the night.    I also don't think they have shared a bed to sleep, as indicated by the nervousness of Amy getting in the bed with Sheldon in the next episode.   From the TR, she asks if she should get in the bed with him, as if it's never happened before, even platonically.

If he did spend the night, I think he slept on the couch, but again, I don't think he did.    I think they kissed, cuddled, talked, drank tea, and then reluctantly parted ways for the evening, perhaps lingering at the door a bit saying their goodbyes before Sheldon left.   Because they were broken up, I don't think he had anything in her apartment with the intention of being prepared to spend the night, and that would have factored in.    He loves Amy, but he's still Sheldon.

Now, I wondered the same thing about him showing up next week in a suit and with flowers.    Where did he stash the stuff to spend the night with her?  Perhaps he did an Amy and hid it in her apartment without her knowing about it.

I agree...I can see it if she were experienced already...but she herself has been a bit "scared" about the actual act of love-making/having sex, so yeah, I really can't see her going there.  I even think, even though she leaned in for the kiss after feeling silly and not sure what she was waiting for, she didn't look happy about it, but more tentative and unsure.  She still seemed a bit "grossed out" about the prospect of just kissing him that I can't see her going any further than a kiss.

Agreed.  Amy was so nervous going in even for that kiss, forcing herself to let something happen that I don't think she would have done more than some kissing.  Certainly more than we would have wanted to occur, but I honestly think the second his hand strayed into second base territory or his lips ended up anywhere other than her mouth I think she would have jumped back with a "Ok, I think that's enough for now!"  Thank god we don't actually have to find out, though!

Sometimes, I just feel so wrong on here just for expressing an opinion because of the reaction I get.  I become tempted to leave the forum.  

Even though I wasn't quoted, I do believe this is in reference to my reply and agreement with 2L344.

I meant no insult to Amy at all, no was I implying that she was cheapening herself or being slutty if she had even considered sleeping with Dave.   However, she is over (30) years old, and she keeps saying she wants experience.     If she thought it was over with Sheldon, then I can see how she could possibly consider other options.

I'd like to remind everyone that no one thought Leonard would ever cheat on Penny by kissing another woman, but it happened.    Some of us never thought Amy would ever break up with Sheldon, would date, or kiss another guy.  It happened.

No one is saying Amy would have definitely slept with Dave.   All I said was that it was a possibility if Sheldon had not shown up when he did.  

Her conversation with Bernie seemed to indicate that Amy was thinking about it, enough for Bernie to remind her that she may want to reconsider who she wants her first time to be with.

once again we agree! look, we're all happy about the Shamy ending (thank goodness!) and its just an interesting "what if?" topic for me since i really like the Amy character and im curious what might have happened. to me, when Amy considers what Bernie says about "intimate" and says maybe thats what she needs, she says it in a tone of defiance in my opinion. 

she started the break up, it went its course, and when she tried to undo it she was "shot down"...yeah, and in a big way too. we never saw a scene later where she checks in with sheldon or the others to see if there is any hope in continuing to pursue a reconciliation. she gets ip the courage to call dave back up on her own...

anyway, to ME, her tone coupled with her hurt feelings and need to move on (since what else can she do?) has her on the potential path of a quick run at Dave. maybe Amy felt that a patient 5 years with Sheldon got her nowhere, maybe a different tactic with dave would prove more productive and a change in outcomes down the road...i dunno...

to say she was NEVER going to have sex with dave that night before the date was interrupted is kinda wishful thinking. the signs were there....
