Ship Zone [Spoilers] Shamy: Season 9

I'm extremely happy with the last episode, there will be no over analysis from me, I did enough of that with the ridiculous break up

Just to point out how well 9.11 has been received; apart the amazing ratings, I've checked the YT channels (ok...I watch the Shamy's scene on YT for the 1000th time...) and in the unofficial channel I watch it has 824.000 visualizations in 5 days!!! Just 1000 are mine, I swear!!! In the official TBBT channel it has 60.000 visualizations up to now...

Looking at those pictures... they look so young there... lol, not that they look old now, well technically they are older... They really have gone a long way. I live in a house with my parents who are Sheldon Purists and a brother who is such a die-hard Lenny that he basically hates all things Shamy. I flee to this thread to indulge in Shamy goodness and even though I get carries away sometimes, I do like it here. I think we should change the topic from the post-coital facial expressions to the future. What's next for them? Cos the way I see it, there will be new obstacles... nothing ever goes according to plan on a sitcom. I couldn't sleep last night and had this weird thought. I think it could be a great FF but I don't write those. Imagine Sheldon and Amy in 4A, she's reading and he's playing a video game (since he doesn't do that much anymore). She's done reading and asks what he's doing. Sheldon says she can play with him. So he hands her another controller (insert some joke here). Fast forward to when Lenny enters the apartment and Shamy are playing video games and when Penny asks what's up, Amy or Sheldon can say : "Just defending the human race against a zombie apocalypse, duh".... like that would be just... amazing cos then we'd see them having fun with each other instead of what ever it was that they usually did post break-up. Also, my dad is a mechanical engineer and my mother is an architect. Two professions far removed from one another, but they work together with contractors when building houses... what I'm trying to say is, if Shamy could, by some sort of miracle, work together to solve some equation that could be kind of groundbreaking. It's possible, Amy does know a lot about marine biology for a neuroscientist so maybe she recalls something about physics. They could discuss writing a paper over dinner... and the conversation could get really steamy (like back and forth scientific banter (almost like when Sheldon talked about the xbox and ps4 and she faked interest)) And Amy could say "You're whiteboard of mine" in a seductive way. So then after they figure out what to do, Sheldon can say "I can remember any other time I've felt so passionate with you", Amy will look sad, but then he'll say nonchalantly "oh right, except for... you know what", with a boyish grin.

Look, for me there will not be great obstacles, at most things played out just for laughs...I think Shamy will be in the background for some\many episodes, but will be shown happy in doing their classic, "normal" (for them) stuff, just in a more affectionate way, more hand-holding, more sweet and romantic things (like the asteroid, romantic but very Shamy), and at some point the writers will casually acknowledge, showing them at breakfast together for example, that sex is in their lives but has not changed them at all. I imagine that the ring will be mentioned (for fun) now and then, since Lenny for sure know about it and I've got the feeling that the gossip spread out among the gang (except Amy, of course)... Maybe they will show some sort of cold feet for Sheldon; in this period he has been through a lot of changes, so he likely needs some time to realize what's happening and how dealing with it. He hates changes, even if he was the one who actively searched for them. Then, at some point, when nobody expect it (so a "normal" episode, let's say, for me not the 200th or the season finale) he will pop up the question in the most surprising and weird and funny and Shamy way possible...I think the "ring" will be for fans what "coitus" has been before, but for a shorter period, of course, since the series is approaching to its end (I'm almost sure there will be a 11th season, but I think in that one they will want to explore what happens when everybody is settled\married, a sort of "Married" TBBT, JMO...) So, it will be our next expectation and the writers will play with it in the same way they played with "coitus"; the only difference is that it can be done for two and a half years as it was done for coitus, since they may not have two and a half years and since, plot-wise, Sheldon has already shown his intentions to propose twice, so it would be unbelievable a drastic change of mind; he can take some time, but I think that Season 9 will be the most amazing season ever for Shamy!

Good thoughts but I think I'll let the writers surprise us.  We had so many different ideas about what would happen with the breakup so I'm going to leave it up to the writers to do their thing,

Since Star Wars is a important and meaningful thing at their history as a couple right now, they could marry dressed as Darth Vader and a Stormtrooper. It doesn't make much sense from SW storyline point of view, but there's someone wearing black and someone wearing white...is that possible? lol

Not to drag back that discussion from earlier but whatever... I think when stuff like this gets cut it's really rather for the general audience's benefit or what TPTB think is necessary for the episode, instead of the characters not being ready. Like, the idea of Sheldon and Amy not being ready for a post-coitus cuddle sounds a bit silly given, well, literally everything else that happened that evening. I have an easier time buying that it might have been cut to have a better transition to the cinema scenes or to give the writers a bit of an easier way to do this somewhat ridiculous "Sheldon is still Sheldon" dance. But at no point would I think cuddling is somehow out of the question for those two looking at it from an in-universe perspective.

(...and since there probably won't ever be an explicit line in the show contradicting it I'll just pretend it still happened off screen anyway! HA!)

I was looking for Katy Perry's Birthday lyrics and I'm a little bit scared and amazed of how what she sings matches with the episode 11 storyline, except for the fact that in this case the boy gives the girl the gift.

Someone pointed out on Tumblr that the episode when they first meet is called "The Lunar Excitation" and the episode where the consummate their relationship is called "The Opening Night Excitation"........Excitation is in both titles.   I hadn't noticed that.

I'm happy for them too! This kinda of gives me hope to my own life lol. 
Since past thursday I cant unrelate Shamy to Star Wars and vice-versa. From many things that people say during sex, I think Amy asked him to use the force just like Yoda and Obi Wan Kenobi did.

What am I doing? I'm destroying a great movie relating its story to sex. Send help!

and just... ughhhhh... I love the hand holding so much!!! he just looks so complete and accomplished and he's holding her hand like "SHE'S MINE."

Did anyone  notice what Lenard and Sheldon  were trying to solve when Sheldon realizes "Darlin'" is about Amy? It is surface tension of domain walls.

While I have no idea what this is scientifically,  metaphorically it is about living arrangements and/or personal barriers or boundries. A person's domain is where he or she lives or feels most comfortable. Walls are self explanatory, as is tension. Right before Sheldon comes to his epiphany, he tells Lenard he knows something about the physics problem . . .  I wonder if this might be a hint as to a change in the characters' living arrangements or something else?

I was trying to figure out what on Earth would it be too. After a little research, I found out that this is related to magnetism and to the string theory (the one Sheldon jumped off a few seasons ago), both have something to do with the origins of the universe. From what I understood, in to string theory there are two parts in movement (the walls), and if they existed, the gravitational waves would be violently emitted if two such walls collided. From the magnetism perspective it's about attraction and a gradual reorientation of individual moments across a finite distance. 

From Wikipedia:

"Conversely, the exchange energy is reduced when the magnetic moments are aligned parallel to each other and thus makes the wall thicker, due to the repulsion between them (where anti-parallel alignment would bring them closer, working to reduce the wall thickness). In the end an equilibrium is reached between the two and the domain wall's width is set as such.

An ideal domain wall would be fully independent of position, but the structures are not ideal and so get stuck on inclusion sites within the medium, also known as crystallographic defects. Now, making the parallel to Shamy: if I understood it correctly, the "walls" would be Sheldon and Amy, and the violent emission of gravitational waves would be...their quirkiness? From the magnetism POV it can be the process of their date and the break up (gradual reorientation of both Sheldon's and Amy's life, individually). There were missing or foreign elements at them, but this transition was finite and in the end the magnets were ok in the end.
