Hello all!

Long time lurker, first time poster.  Long live the Shamy!

I've recently gotten into reading fanfics, and I was hoping for some recommendations where Amy and especially Sheldon aren't OOC.  A lot of the lovey dove ones I've come across seem like any contemporary romance with the names changed---not very quirky or Sheldony IMHO.

I'd appreciate it.

Little late to the party but I would like to see in this season

*SIS - Sheldon iniciate sex and sleepover - in his unique and crazy way

*Back with Dr. Cooper and Dr. Fowler teasing + Cuddles and Vixen ( boy I miss that)

*Living arrangments ( imagine would be fun to watch 4 of them having breakfast in Pjs), Think 200th  epi will be the one about this, more foccus on Shelnard.

*travel weekend with all the gang together, maybe a holiday or something related to work ( perhaps they might have to share a room with couples..)

*Dinner group in 4A and ladies night in 4b

*Crazy games like counterfactuals and maybe something new that only Shamy would understand

 

Anyway I´m very happy with this Season so far.. Waiting more good stuff to come

Liking this Shamy Wishlist we got going on.....so to continue it in no particular order:

Sheldon and Amy dancing

More hippy dippy love declarations and so on

Some sort of couple's competition

Sheldon and Amy fighting to keep their hands off of each other and spectacularly failing in their own weirdly awkward way

Proposal...and or a geeky themed wedding/elopement........and as always...

all forms of physical contact, up to and definitely including intense and whimsically inventive coitus!

 

oh.....and I reallllllly want them to cuddle together in Sheldon's Spot, or have him give up his spot to her without even thinking twice about it!.......but then later give someone else holy hell when they attempt to sit there.

guys, i'm writing a fanfic about 9x10 & 9x11 (yes, Shamy took my fanfic writing virginity lol x D damn!) and i need help with the timeline... They got together on a Saturday, and SW is on Thursday, is it established that it's been 5 days between that, or maybe 12 days?

In the beginning of 9x11 Penny says she's happy they got back together, it doesn't make sense for her to say that if they've already been together for a week, right? so i'm assuming it's been 2 days... (just checking if i'm missing anything)

(Also, they got back together on Saturday, and '3 days till SW' means it's monday morning when Lenny and Sheldon are having breakfast, and since Penny says that, maybe it's the first time she's seen Sheldon since Saturday evening? which makes me think maybe shamy had a sleepover and then he's spent all Sunday with Amy? <3 I know i know, it is possible that it's just Lenny have spent Sunday elsewhere... but my head canon will be the first version )))

Also, does anybody know if Sheldon has some fixed rituals for saturday evening and any time on sunday? I know he watches Doctor Who on saturday mornings but that's about it...

It was not clear from what we saw on screen how much time passed between reconciliation and cold open of 9.11 but, as you said, it doesn't make sense for Penny saying what she said if a more than a week had already passed...So, in my head, Shamy  reconciliated on Saturday December 12th and the cold open of 9.11 took place on Monday December 14th.  Anyway, the three of them in that scene for me are eating lunch or more likely dinner (usually they work all day and boys eat at Calthec), not breakfast, since in their plates there's some pasta and a salad. Not sure if Sheldon had one or two sleepovers at Amy's over that week-end (again it was not clear from what we saw on screen) but I'm sure he spent with her as much time as he could and I also had the impression that meal was the first time the three of them were together after that Saturday. As for Sheldon's rituals, Saturday night at 8 pm is laundry night and he never missed it, so really he was out of his mind for Amy when he run to her place...

Shamy proposal.

Shamy going bed shopping together. 

Leonard, Howard and Raj trying to figure out how to get Amy’s harp up four flights of stairs with Sheldon supervising.

Amy is not going to elope, no way. The woman's Bridezilla. She was crackers enough when she was maid of honour and has had her wedding present  list with the cadaver lab since before Bernadette's wedding. She's even planned the date for her own as four years from then.

 However, I can imagine if Raj is  MC there might be a geeky theme if the two mothers will allow it.

She's changed since Bernadette's wedding though and I don't think she'll be as much of bridezilla as she would have been if they hadn't broken up for six months.  I think now she won't be as bothered about the little details.  But now that Sheldon is putting Amy first he may try to make it as perfect a day as possible for her, so he may turn into a groomzilla.

Oh yes ! Groomzilla would be funny, driving the others crazy.

So it was six months they were broken up. Thanks. I'd no idea it was such a long time. I was wondering how long it was but I assumed it was shorter. The breakup was shown on 21st September and the makeup was somewhere between Thanksgiving and Star Wars Day but what time of year the 21/9/15 episode was happening I couldn't tell. They were together when he bought the aquarium tickets : how far in advance are Thanksgiving tickets sold ?

First episode of this season was the next day after season 8 finale, so it was May.

They broke up in mid\late May and made up in early\mid December, so more than six months, actually. They had the big fight which determined their break up in the Season 8 finale, so in May. Then 9.1 started (11) hours after that night, and the first 3 episodes in Season 9 took place in a week or so, with no time jump whatsoever. Even the forth episode (The 2003 Approximation) hasn't a big time jump, since at some point Sheldon mention the 4th of July as an event yet to come. The writers started a slow time jump between the 9.5 and 9.8, or at least it is implied, since Amy had few dates with 3 different people during that period and Sheldon passed from being desperate to searching for a new girlfriend, so I imagine both of them needed time in this process. The big time jump  was officially acknowledged in 9.9, which is the Thanksgiving episode and then 9.10 and 9.11 took place in December. I don't think they were together when Sheldon bought the Aquarium tickets, maybe he bought 2 tickets because he needed somebody to drive him there and he imagined somebody would long for going with him to see if that was the year he finally touched a starfish...

I didn't realise how far BBT episodes took place at a real time of year apart from Christmas. So if an episode is shown in May, for example, the chances are the events are supposed to have taken place in May. The mention of 4th July didn't register with me. That means the Hofstadders have been married over six months, spending most of that time in Sheldon's flat. Amy has done nothing about moving herself in that time.  No wonder the Wolowitzes are fed up with Stuart. Thanks.

As much as I would like to see Sheldon share his spot with Amy, I just don't see it happening.  They have to keep Sheldon, "Sheldon".  However, I would like to see a group dinner where someone goes to sit next to Sheldon because they are used to Amy's abscence from the breakup and he screams that it's Amy's spot.  I'd find that just as sweet.

Yes, I think that, unless otherwise stated by some character in some lines, generally speaking it's safe to assume that the episodes happen in real time. Anyway, you know, up to now this has been a really unconventional season, with respect to the time jumps. Some other seasons ended with a cliffhanger (or kind of) and so the next one begun the day after or few days after the said cliffhanger, but it is the first time three episodes in a row took place in literally few days, and the writers wanted us to know it, since they underlined it in many lines...After 9.4 the time jumps became more vague, they were not very clear, it was subtle observing the plot that some time passed, for example Amy is not the kind of girl who usually goes out with 3 different persons in..let's say...3 days. It seemed also reasonable to assume that 9.7 and 9.8 were kind of close, since Amy was still hanging out with Dave,  but nothing was "officially" acknowledged. So, when the episode that aired around American Thanksgiving was actually a Thanksgiving episode, in this thread many persons begun really to worry...That meant that Shamy were apart for 6 months, it was kind of unexpected and it felt too "definitive", and that not even mentioning the plot of the episode...All's well that ends well!! Now I imagine they have time jumped in January with no Christmas or New Year Eve episodes (I really hope for a New Year episode next season!!) and they have caught up with our "real" time.

Hello, welcome, hope you enjoy your stay 

This is probably not the best place, ff threads might serve you better, anyway, understanding your struggle, lovey dovey isn't really my thing, so  OOC writing is not, here are some of mine favorites. 

Drama

Love Is In The Proof by Gorn on the sofa : Deals with unexpected pregnancy. Can get quite hard to read, heavy topic and well Sheldon is season six/seven Sheldon, quite challenging to deal with at times...anyway, it's great drama, well written and quite IC IMO. 

The Theory of Objectivity by Musickat18:  too older ff, topic is mainly break up, after which Shamy are forced to spend weeks together in Switzerland because of  Amy's injury. I think set after season 5, IC, well written, really enjoyable. 

The Family Reunion Probability Theorem by Misophonia: set in S6 I think, deals with Meemaw's death and Sheldon struggle with that, as much as with his relationship. Really heartbreaking at times, but the author has amazing skills and keeps Sheldon, Sheldon as possible I believe. Author "draw" interesting characterizations and side stories for Sheldon's family in the story as well.  

Romance

Treading Water, YlvaBorealis: I guess that's one of "most in character Sheldon" I could find. Set in S8 I think, Sheldon starts seeing psychologist to overcome his issues with intimacy. On this topic I would call it the best executed, and I wouldn't be afraid of opening any ff from this author, Shamy are always quirky, funny and charming here, as  on screen

Book Club series (both T and M rated) by April in Paris : series of one shots mapping Shamy journey by bi-monthly book club they started, while dealing with whatever life throws at them. Even while seeing Sheldon and Amy growing up, I find the way of doing so really unforced, and natural, keeping them both as IC as possible. Too it's an author I'm not afraid open any ff from. 

Comedy

The Parallel Universe Affirmation or The Girlfriend Trickery by QBMaja: Set in current season. Beginning is quite dramatic due to the topic but quickly switch to really funny piece IMO. Theme is essentially Sheldon, losing his memory of Amy. Many funny moments of two people, while one doesn't know the other at all, while the other know you all too well  

Six Sheldons by Hazerla7 : set in current season, it's essentially gathering of six versions of Sheldons, each one with slightly different background connected by one woman (who's that?)  IC status can be quite questionable at times due to the theme but writer's style kind of make it up to me with good laugh. 

The-Seventy-Three-or-From-Genius-to-Sex-Genius-A-Master-Class by BazingaPunk01 : Hilarious one shot off all the quirky, weird, whimsically inventive ways Sheldon and Amy got physical  

So this is just on a top of my head, I find those not too much OOC, captivatingly themed and written, and just enough sweet to not threat my glucose level  Too if you have some nice ff to recommend I'm all ears

Hey guys! Hope you had a nice Christmas  Sorry if I'm repeating some ideas of yours, but here's my Shamy wishlist for the rest of this season:

• More hugs and cuddling, please!! I might survive without some kissing and lovemaking ATM (we've had a lot in the last two episodes LOL), but I miss that totally Shamy-esque kind of sweetness.
• I'd love to see them live together in 4A with Lenny on their own (at last) in 4B, and the consequent comedy that situation would create. If the writers decide to let Sheldon live alone for some time, at least it'd be fun to see Sheldon and Amy try to adjust to the new dynamics of their relationship... A morning scene in the 4A kitchen wouldn't hurt
• Group episodes/dinners. The sooner the better. With Sheldon in his spot and Amy in hers - by his side, of course 
• I want Shamy to do something very quirky and/or science related together.

BTW, poor Mayim! Hope she's feeling better with her back. IDK if Amy's time away in 9x12 and 9x13 was somehow related to that, but... 

• It's about time for our cute little lump of wool to go back home, isn't it?

Hi guys! I've been visiting family during the holidays, but now I'm back! 

I might be a little late to the party and repeating the same ideas listed before, but here's my Shamy wishlist:

• Living arrangements. The writers really need to solve this imo. I love Shelnard, but it's time to move on. Lenny should live together alone and so should Shamy. 
• Casual hello/goodbye kiss in front of the gang. I actually want this more than coitus tbh! 
• Shamy having breakfast together. After sleepover, with coitus or not, them having breakfast in their jammies.
• Shamy doing some experiment they invented together. Like in herb garden. Just classic quirky Shamy.
• Engagement. I don't know how and when I'd want it to happen, but I'll leave that up to the writers. They blew me away with the coitus storyline so do your magic again with the engagement!

Other than Shamy related:

• Group dinner. That's long overdue already. Also a proper group episode would be great.
• Raj. what's up with him and Emily? They've been together for 2 years, just saying..
• Lenny. Give them something! Let them have their moment in the sun. 

Hope you all had a great Christmas. Let's hope that 2016 will be amazing for Shamy!

I think they were totally together when they bought the aquarium tickets. When he Skypes her before Thanksgiving he says " I'm calling because Thanksgiving is coming up and I wanted to offer you the aquarium tickets," holding them up.  She doesn't ask what they are, nor does he explain.  She already knows exactly what they are, ergo, they must have bought them together at least as long ago as May.

I agree with this list! Also "the Letter" by Shamour is really good, super hot, and pretty IC (as much as it can be while also being super hot). Happy reading!

I thought it was kind of an off-screen tradition for Sheldon on Thanksgiving, (i.e., something the writers invented to make their date believable on that occasion). He even said "maybe this is the year I finally touch a starfish", which makes me believe that it is customary for them\him to go to the aquarium...Do you need to buy Aquarium tickets for a thanksgiving buffet more than six months in advance?

So I was just watching Opening Night again.  I agree with the thought that intimacy was really his preferred birthday gift anyway, and he was really just going to the ladies for confirmation that that would be ok with Amy, and I noticed something else that fits with that idea.  He lays out the ideas, Penny breaks her glass (one of my favorite moments EVER), then after cleaning it up goes over the ideas again.  He asks them which they think she would prefer.  They never actually answer, they just ask him if he is actually ready to be physical with Amy.  Once he answers them "...it feels like now might be the right time," he just says "Then it is settled..."

He knew what he came in to figure out.
