[Spoilers] Shamy: Season 9

Recommended Posts

I'm not even sure that Amy doesn't understand the meaning behind Sheldon's behaviour. We have seen in the past how she reads him. I'm sure there are better examples but this one comes to mind: Everyone is sitting together watching TV, waiting for Penny's part in NCIS. Sheldon tells Amy that he feels uncomfortable watching episodeXX without having seen the antecedent episodes. Amy suggests he should just treat those as a prequel. She knows how his mind works.

I think Amy's mad because she has wanted to hear those things for years now and only get's them in snide remarks aimed at her heart, simply to manipulate her.

I don't think she did? Caffeine's post was pretty condescending and also out of nowhere. Currently absolutely no one on this thread has been acting melodramatically. In fact, some great discussion was going on and Caffeine's post sort of ruined that nice vibe with condescension. And she didn't even read the thread? It was uncalled for.

I is not the liking to fight.... She made mention of posters attacking other posters and the Marina went and attacked her. Peace out... Long live the Shamy Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Thanks Caffeine buzz... I needed that boost of positivity... Narina I think you missed her point there just a little but whatevs...Their engagement will be so epic that people will bow to it...minstrels will write songs about it. There once a couple named Shamy There ship was end gamey When they got engaged The whole damn world went crazy I am not a poet sorry. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Thanks :)   Trust me, its awesome, a little hard to watch obviously cause I don't like to see them suffer, but its leading to such goodness.

And yes Marina is missing my point entirely.  There is no condescending going on.  None.  I know the discussion has moved on to more positive things now that I've had a chance to read some of it.  But your reply to me is just proving my point.  Why do some of you have to be ugly about any little thing someone else says?  I'm not going to name names, but you all know very well who you are.  My post was to try and give hope since I have seen the two episodes and you immediately twist it into something ugly to serve what purpose exactly? Want to bitch about the episodes as you understand them for now?  Go ahead, not gonna stop you.  Want to be positive about what's ahead? Go ahead.

Just don't harsh on someone else's choice to enjoy the episodes.  We don't have to agree, ever and that's supposed to be the beauty of an open forum.

And peace out on my end too.  This is exactly the kind of BS I was talking about.

Alright I posted this in another thread but here goes here too cause I think it belongs in there too.  (and maybe in the Season 8 discussion thread but I'm just not ready to go in there yet).  I haven't read most of the thread (not ready too yet, it's just been too negative for me to read through it all but I hear and I hope its been getting better)

I'll be honest here.  I haven't been posting much on the boards or reading most of the threads since the premiere was taped and the reason for that is that this forum has suddenly turned into a really ugly place to be.

Members attacking members, members & non-members attacking cast and crew and all the negativity being spewed over something no one save for those of us who have seen episode 1 taped/played back and episode 2 taped.  I just really wish people would reserve their judgement on the material until they see it on the screen in the way the writers and actors intend for us to see it.  Things are being blown way out of proportion and I just can't be a part of it.

I will say this.  Regardless if you're a fan of the current story line or not, both episodes are good.  Some are funnier than others but they are both really good and they serve a very real purpose in telling the story they are trying to tell this season.  Its a good story arc and it has so much promise.  I just wish people could stop fixating on the one or two aspects they apparently hate based on spoilers and instead of reserving judgement until they see it as it plays out on screen.  Anyone who watches this show knows how much nuance there is in line delivery, facial expressions, body language etc.

Please stop driving yourselves crazy imagining all this doom and gloom cause I assure you, that's not what these episodes are delivering.

I haven't been much outside the Shamy thread, tbh, but where are the members attacking members or the members attacking Bill and co.? As far as I know most of the attacks to Bill came from non-members on Twitter. And I was under the impression discussion on here (again, at least in this thread) has been rather civilized. People might be unhappy with plots, but nobody has attacked other members? I find that the only people that have been talking down other members are the ones who keep telling people how to react and what to like and when it's acceptable to be annoyed with something. Nobody has been talking down members who are happy with the developments telling them they shouldn't be. I totally get it that it's tiresome to read rants and venting when you're enjoying something, but where are people meant to vent if not to other members? In the shower? At work? I don't think my boss would be pleased with me requesting meetings to tell him about how I wake up at 4am to check spoilers because I'm worried about what they're doing to Shamy!

Bottom line is, anybody's guess is as good as anybody's else until this story is wrapped up. There is no guarantee it will be all doom and gloom but there's also no guarantee it will all be fine and dandy. People are just speculating and worried because they are invested in the relationship and these characters. It's what a discussion forum is about. Some are positive, some are feeling down and negative. That's all there is to it, really.

I think Amy might be a bit too drained and emotional right now to read between his lines. Yes, she reads him very well 90% of the time, but given the circumstances, I can cut her some slack. It's not like she's the best at reading behavior either, tbh. Yes, she's better than Sheldon, but we've seen her miss the point plenty in the past. The one that springs to mind is when she didn't get Lenny wanted to be left alone to have dinner in the S7 finale until she was told straight up to leave. So I can buy that right now she's so focused on the angry part of his jabs that she doesn't really listen to the words.

I don't think it was uncalled for.  To give you an example that literally happened today.  I explained about girls night, made a firm "it wasn't a big deal thing" and even explained what Amy's defending of Leonard was (her simply saying "I'm sure he feels horrible" and "people make mistakes") but some jumped off (not to crazy) saying "Amy defending Leonard, go defend a cheater".  I'm telling you (and whether you believe me or not) it was NOT a big scene, and with or without it makes no difference in any outcome UNLESS the writers bring up Bernadette knowing about Mandy before Penny found out.  That is all that scene is for.  So again, this is a community where everyone is entitled to different thoughts & ideas sometimes you feel almost scared to share something from a taping because you are literally held to one phrase you write and people make a bigger deal out of it.

This is not a stab at anyone or anything, just an example of what others might be feeling.

After the whole thing died I am more than willing to share information about the episode.  I understand the desire for additional info (hell, I crave it myself on Tuesday late evenings lol.  And this is why I'm happy to share).  Although getting PMs wanting additional info I'm not happy about as a spoiler person myself I would never do that.

The problem was no one was attacking anyone.   It has been really pleasant in here and I think it was strange for someone who says they haven't been reading in come in and tell us all to calm down when we are all,  you know, calm.

Hi Koops!

There have been posts made with attacks at other members, Which have been hidden by mods. I have had a few unpleasant things thrown at me as well. but thats not to be talked about.

Trust me. The issues that Buzz is talking about exist.

Your post came across a lot more aggressive than you may have intended. It's the internet and tone is hard to judge sometimes so it felt like you dropped a condescending rant into a friendly discussion. I know you mean well but your post came pretty much out of left field at that point. ;)

If that's the way it came across it definitely wasn't intended that way.  That was even why I had put the disclaimer at the top about not knowing it if was still relevant or not seeing as I hadn't had time to read the threads yet.  I can see from catching up that all is now well in here.  But the attack from Marina was still uncalled for and I'm standing my ground on that.  Sorry.  And Kazzie is right, we have been attacked, most of it has been hidden thankfully.  If you're not seeing it that's cause the mods are thankfully doing a wonderful job of keeping it off the threads.  I'm going to edit my post above with that in mind cause I don't want to contribute to this any further.  But the rest of my post is staying cause that's my view of the two episodes and its just a valid as anyone else's view.

Thank you Kerrycec03, the details you shared with us were really sweet, and made me feel better. I think it will be a relatively long journey, for both of them...Among the "Sheldon Lee Cooper antics" we will meet very soon drunken Sheldon, I guess, it's the only thing missing now. I hope that at some point they begin to tell Amy's side of the story too. She said that it is hard for her too, but all the anger she is feeling is hyding the suffering, so she can't right now understand if her decision was just the rush of a  moment (as we all wish) or it is something deeper.

As for the SF trip, even if this plot would be very sweet, I don't think it will be "something"; of course I was not at the taping and I can't say how the lines were delivered, but Sheldon says (as far as I understand) "we are going to have fun"...It means he is going\wants to go with them, so he booked  3 tickets...it can't be something he had preparred as an anniversary gift, IMO. The trip may look very "Shamy" just because  he planned it, so he chose to do what interested him. Hoping to be wrong here...

For the ring, I don't know what to think.  For sure, for the suspance it creates in the audience, it is really pure genius the writer who decided to show it in the finale and, when it will appear for its proper use, it will be magic...I just don't like the idea that some of the gang will know about it before Amy;I have the feeling his friends in this circumstance are not really on his side, he's alone in this journey, they don't understand his reasons, and maybe it is for the best, I feel him being alone with himself (and Amy alone with herself) is the key.

Marina's comment may have been biting (but I believe correct), but other than that, no one has come close to being ugly to anyone here.  Just because people may see things differently than you doesn't mean that they are being ugly or are trying to twist into something ugly.  I have seen one of the episodes, yet I don't completely agree with some of the views from others who were at that taping and that's not me being ugly.  Also, just because you feel a certain way about an episode doesn't mean that other will feel the same way, even after they watch it.  I didn't see the issue with Intimacy reading the taping report nor after I watched it.  Some people never changed their minds about.  I don't feel offended by that and I don't feel like they were being ugly because they hated that episode so much.  There is more than one view point to be had.  Maybe people shouldn't take it so personally when people disagree with what they see an episode, especially when the issues that people have with the episodes are directed towards the show and not to the posters that saw the taping.  It's not your burden to bare.  We can discuss our differing view points and say our peace, but other than that, accept that people may not see things the way you do and it has nothing to do with you or me and everything to do with the show itself.

Ok, that was my post. But you're not responsible for how I react to spoilers. If I want to flip out of joy or anger, that is my choice, it's nothing to do with you personally because you don't write the episodes. Nobody that goes to tapings is responsible for what ends up in the episodes and if people are angry at the content, they're angry at the content, not at the member. If they personally attack the members, then they're just idiots. You're not the writers. As they say, don't shoot the messenger. I have a broader issue with how this episode has swept Leonard's cheating under the carpet like it's something we should feel sorry for him about, and every tidbit I hear that confirms how they want me to emphatize with a cheater annoys me.

But, just as you might feel scared about posting spoilers because you don't know how people would react and that puts you off, you can then understand how posts like "This place has become ugly because there's so much negativity" can be unfair to people who are just upset and want to vent. Nobody here is a troll who hates Shamy and is bashing the couple. If there's negativity it's out of worry because we all love this pairing. Some are optimists, some are pessimists, some are neutral. It's the way things are. Frankly, right now, in my state of mind, I don't find posts telling me I'm a Negative Nancy very helpful at all. If you (general you) want to make me feel better about things, give me your opinions about the episode and what other interpretations there might be. But pointing out that my emotional state is wrong is not helpful at all. If anything, it just brings up unpleasant confrontations.

Sorry to hear that Kazzie, I didn't know. That's stupid, to be honest. It's not your fault what ends up in the episode and, again, it's not your job to be responsible for other people's reactions or emotions.

yea, that's an odd spoiler.  Unless its a secret scene and video call situation because Laurie is tied up on Broadway right now.  Hmmm so Santa Molaro might have been right after all if its a secret scene.  I saw what they showed and def didn't see Laurie lol

I think one of the issues here is that it IS difficult to judge tone from something typed online, and I think we'd all benefit from trying to remember that when we type.

I agree with this.  But it goes bother ways.  As posters reading the taping reports we have to keep in mind that things might seem a little different when we watch it.  As people who report from the tapings we have to keep in that there is only so much one can correctly convey in what we type and have to understand that people may not get it until they see it and let people react as they will.  Telling people, "well I was there so..." is a bit condescending.  While discussing what I saw at the premier taping with a few they had certain reactions that I didn't have at the taping.  I tried to explain more, sometimes that worked to convey what I saw, sometimes it didn't.  I can't fault others for that and I can't take personal offense to that.

Yeah who care what I posted a while ago, moving on.  I'm wracking my brain on where they're inserting that scene in the premiere about Sheldon's mother and the ring.  Holy crappola, I take it all back, freak away!!!

I'm replaying the whole thing in my head trying to figure out where it would have made sense.  That might explain why Sheldon is not as angry and immediately chasing her in episode 2.  That scene could be incredibly important.

My mind is going a mile a minute.  Sorry for anyone I inadvertently offended, group hug all and speculate on.  This is incredibly exciting!!!

Maybe she wasn't available yet and they did the scene after the taping of 9.2...Should be the tag, some of you told that there was no scene called "tag" at the taping of 9.1, am I wrong? At least we will know when he got it and, more important, where it is right now!

agreed...Not sure where it would fit in.....obviously its a Skype call/phone situation and its from EW which is a legit site....And seeing Penny father in the 3rd episode would make sense.  Maybe Sheldon did tell his Mom... and we find out more about the ring...hmmmm....

I'm stunned by this latest spoiler...but very intrigued!!
