That's why I love 'Platonic Permutation' so much - even if it hurts every time to watch the tag scene. It made the reconciliation so much better - not just her saying: 'Hey, I'm ready to be your girlfriend again, we can go back to where we were' - but both of them realising how much they mean to each other and both wanting to get the other one back. It was perfect and well-thought-out.

CuriousMeans Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 How often does Sheldon use double (triple, quadruple) negatives to accomplish something traditionally nice/against his ideas so that it doesn't seem like he's doing something nice? Watching his leaps of logic and Amy keeping up with them in conversations create most of my favorite non-romantic scenes. I haven't watched all of the episodes yet because of time constraints, but I'm curious if there's a thread on it from years past I haven't found yet? Or if it was in one of the older Shamy threads I missed?

How well they know each other. About spending time together, it reminds me : recently I watched again the episode about the parking spot. It is only a detail but I cought it only this time. Amy said she had a box with coins in her purse to bring to the bank, and in the same episode Sheldon said he had tried to go to the bank with the iron man helmet. I am not sure but maybe they planed to go to the bank together. And one other thing in this episode, Amy takes Sheldon's part (she agrees with his point of view) about the parking spot. I am not sure now if she would. I think, now, she would try to tell him "but you don't use it" :-/ I love how they are now, and that it is good that they grew up, but sometimes I want their complicity in their own weirds things comes back. I agree. I love when they are in sync, even if it makes no sense to anyone else. The dynamic of Amy being the constant teacher to improve Sheldon will get old very quickly, so I hope the writers use it very sparingly. I would also love to see Sheldon help Amy improve as well. That would make me so happy you have no idea! Earlier this season Amy defended him as being "brilliant and insightful" - I'd love to see that in an episode where she's dealing with some sort of problem and he ends up helping her in some way.

jenafan Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 One of my favorite lines Amy said to Penny and Bernadette was when she said if Sheldon proposed to me during sex, my ovaries would latch on to him and never let go. If Sheldon proposes to her during or after coitus, I will die.
Carm6773 Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 Little late to the favorite Shamy moment party, so most of my faves have already been taken. The past moment that I love that hasn't been mentioned is when Amy showed up at Sheldon's in the Catholic Schoolgirl outfit to "repent" for lying to him about being sick when she really just wanted to hang with Bernadette. Now that coitus has happened, I would LOVE to see a return of that outfit!

That's setting the bar at rock bottom, dude! lol No, I was rather thinking along the lines of Alien Parasite Hypothesis with him mapping out a problem on notepads and whiteboards. Or like in that episode where the guys went to that school (forgot the title) it was Sheldon who had the most straight forward ideas for their goal to get more girls into the sciences (talk to them while they're still young, and have them talk to actual female scientists. I know, gosh jolly, what a novel idea but seeing what the other guys had in store you earned yourself a cute me-wow sticker, Sheldon!). Can we, like, take these aspects and mix it up a little with a new plot of the week about Amy having to deal with some sort of wacky problem? Pretty please?? Also, related to the favourite Shamy moments theme: I always love it when Sheldon is hanging out at Amy's lab!

I remember ages back, koops and i were speculating whether and how we might meet more members of amy's family, and one possible notion was for amy's dad to come back on the scene and for amy to be carried away and be in thrall to him, for Sheldon to think he is bad news and to be proven right and somehow protect amy/ look out for her, and/or for Amy to face down the father in defence of Sheldon (mirroring Meemaw somewhat, except Sheldon really did face down a cherished nurturing figure). Just a thought of course. But in general I would love to see a return to the idea that both Amy and Sheldon are 'works in progress'.
Popular Post Maddie Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 I don't know if it's already been mentioned, but my favorite non-romantic episode is Alien Parasite. We get: 1. Amy and Sheldon having lunch together -- so cute 2. Putting their brains together to try to figure out Amy's condition -- I love it when they're geniuses together 3. "A cross we all must bear" -- the first confirmation that Sheldon is capable of arousal! 4. Sheldon rejecting the notion that Amy was turned on by Zach = Sheldon jealous -- the first confirmation that Sheldon has a crush on Amy! (You can argue it was shown he had a crush on her in Zazzy, but this is the first time it's pretty much explicitly stated) 5. Similarly, we get confirmation that Sheldon developed feelings for Amy before she developed feelings for him. This can be debated, I don't think we got a clear indication that she had feelings for him until Herb Garden and Agreement Dissection. Furthermore, at the end of Alien Parasite, she didn't feel anything when she grabbed Sheldon's hand. I love this. Sheldon might have taken a lot longer to come to terms with his feelings than did Amy, but he developed romantic feelings for her almost instantly. 5. Despite his jealousy, Sheldon trying to help Amy by tracking down Zach (it is kinda creepy, but the thought behind it is still sweet lol) 6. His live long and prosper sign to Zach after Amy walks away from him, like he's gloating that Amy chose him over Zach 7. Sheldon instinctively holding Amy's hand after she grabs his and not pulling away I just remember watching this episode live (I was 17 and a junior in high school! :O) and thinking how someday they would get together and kiss and eventually make love. I can't believe it's been 5 years. They've kissed, they've made out, they've made love. And pretty soon they're gonna get engaged. It's crazy! They were just babies back then!

Yes to all thats why its probably my favorite pre-official Shamy episode!! The hand holding when he gripes back at first on instinct spoke hugely of how their relationships would go. Instinct is he wants it, but rationally he pulls back. She tries first and is more open but when push comes to shove she backs a little. Ultimately they are now on such an even playing field but I also love the confirmation of his feelings when she suggests his jealousy. He gets mad cause its the truth. Now he didn't necessarily want her sexually so pawning her out to Zach was just for her to get rid of her desires and come back to him fully as his partner.
