I'm glad I am not the only one that read this report that way....the birthday sex was planned by Sheldon(and to some extent Amy) to the point he was going to wine and dine her beforehand. My head canon says they had the heat of the moment sex when she got back from the conference, that would be heat of the moment type of sex.

Yup, I also just read that in the TR and thought "unplanned and spontaneous"? That certainly doesn't describe their first time... they must have done it again!!

Then I realized I was grinning like an idiot and people on my train were staring LOL

The bed is wide enough for cuddly spooning... which wouldn't be a bad thing either. :icon_wink:

It's wide enough for both of them without even spooning, but it's clearly not long enough for Sheldon.  His normal sleeping position is flat on his back as well, so how he can sleep with his feet hanging of the end of it is beyond me.

In bed Shamy (on Amy's birthday), is the best Shamy for me. :cool:

Or, maybe they'll move Amy's water bed (and Amy herself) into Sheldon's bedroom.

It didn't look like a water bed, but it did look long enough for our boy.  Probably would be easier just to move Amy's bed (whatever it is) into his bedroom as he'll be used to it now.

The second scene is at 4A. Leonard, Sheldon and Raj are about to play games. Leonard says he hears about some guys in Raj’s apartment recently discovered a planet. Sheldon asks how come Raj didn’t discover that. Raj answers he could’ve except he was busy making holiday jams for everybody.

This actually is a true story. Two astronomers at Calthec, Brown e Batygin,  have published very recently (a couple of weeks ago) a paper about the fact that very likely there is another planet at the bottom of the solar system (they called it Planet Nine) based on the study of gravitational fields of other planets. They have not found it "physically" because if it exists for real is very very far from us (but it is big 10 times our planet)  and even the most powerful telescope may fail in finding it. I'm impressed the writers decided to put this fact in their script, very cool!!!

Yep.  Saw a video on this about a week ago.

Really?

When did she get rid of it?

TBH, in all the times we've seen it, it never once looked, or reacted, like a water bed.

When she sat on it when Sheldon was being Doctor Who it was solid, it is solid in Opening Night when they are both in it. Can't think of another time we've seen it?

Yeah might have been a throw away joke, or she burst it at some point lol!

Sometimes a throwaway joke is just a throwaway joke. I know one of your favourite past-times is digging out old dialogue bits and treat them as facts, but sometimes you just gotta let go of some ideas when everything else in the show points to a different direction.

This is my least faverouite part of this show! :(

I'm thinking that she did have it but at some point Sheldon told her (off-screen of course) that he didn't like it and she got rid of it.

There was Decoupling Fluctuation, where Penny rings Amy, in the middle of the night, to shout at her, for telling Sheldon, that she's thinking of breaking up with Leonard.

Amy's water bed is certainly an elusive thing.

In The Decoupling Fluctuation (6.02), the bed is clearly a non-water bed.

In The Spoiler Alert Segmentation (6.15), Amy announces she's "gonna go see if Leonard’s room is big enough for my water bed".

In The Skywalker Incursion (8.19), when Sheldon bursts into her apartment, dressed as the 4th Doctor, Amy is sitting on, what is clearly a non-water bed.

In The Opening Night Excitation (9.11), Amy's bed is, again, clearly not a water bed.

Maybe Amy shed a lot of tears because of Sheldon in her bed? So she called it “my water bed“.

It could be "my water bed"simply means the water bed she wishes to buy someday.  She's always wanted a waterbed, it doesn't fit/isn't allowed at her current place, now she's hoping to get one.  Problem solved.

Wouldn't that be "gonna go see if Leonard’s room is big enough for a water bed"?

I wouldn't ask you, if you fancy a spin in "my Ferrari", if I meant the Ferrari I wish/hope to buy, someday.

She could have just got one at that time, emptied it when she thought she was going to move in and then couldn't be bothered to put it back together or fill it or whatever when she realised Sheldon didn't want her to move in.

Could be, but if she's looking forward to having one and she's expressed that offscreen "my waterbed" works too.  In general, I try to be generous with the writers.  If I can concoct a plausible explanation, I call it a day.

Ok, so happy right now! Karaoke has always been on my wish list for a group episode...and here we go, thanks writers!!! As for Shamy, I'm very pleased about how everything is turning out; just a quick summary of the last episodes for everybody here: they are in a very good place, for Sheldon the break up was necessary and made they stronger than ever, he is affectionate, never thought about him as a man (albeit drunk) which could insist that his girlfriend sits just near near him or that could appreciate her (terrible, it seems) singing, Amy is happy with him, she appreciates that he defended her with his grandmother (that meant a lot for her), she likes having fun with him doing FwF, and she's all giggling just thinking about the two of them together. Is that enough for all of us? For me it is...I also think, like April, that the writers are subtly suggesting now they had coitus more than once (since 9.11 was everything but "The heat of the moment" or "One thing lead to another" - kind of stuff) but, regardless of how often it happens, it's clear that Amy is very happy about it and she has no doubts Sheldon desires her,  that's more than enough for me on this subject.

And, just some thought about the 200th episode...We had the first full group episode today, but no dinner in 4A; will the 200th be charm for that? I really really hope so. And...they haven't shown us the new Howardette's living room. It was the first thing they decided to renovate, so it should have been ready by now; is it 200th episode-material, too?

Mine too! We've had Howard/Amy, Sheldon/James Earl Jones, and now the group yay! Perfection!

I can't believe I'm diving into the waterbed convo, but there are also different types of waterbeds. My mother used to have one. There's the kind that's like a big bag of water and then there's the kind that's more like a reg mattress with a layer of water on top. The second kind appears more solid. So...could be that it has been a wb the whole time.

now toodle-oo! I'm off to daydream about flirty, drunk Sheldon and giddy, well-loved Amy!

I'm also so happy for our girl Amy!!  I mean, even Penny includes her saying "we've all been there" establishing that Amy is now "a woman" and can share, comment & fully understand all these sex convos.  And she is so happy to be part of this "sisterhood" in a way.  So any doubts she once had about her relationship being a "joke" because it wasn't physical are gone.

And the more I think about it, yea, her bday gift wasn't built on heat of the moment desire like she "understood" from Bernadette so in my fangirl heart that episode happened post-conference.  I mean he skyped in his bed...he was longing for her too.  That was clear.

And I'm sorry...the wink & cheers while she was singing...adorable!  And I'm sure our boy was experiencing pretty hot feelings for her at that moment too (liquid courage of course).

Also....the convo with Howard about them not growing up with dads...yet Howard will be a good father.  Its his own fears being pawned onto Howard.  On suface yea babies are smelly/take funtime away/loud/etc but deep down he does want that and wants it with Amy.  He wants to be a father and the amount of baby comments from him mouth this season alone...very intriguing....

Remember that insult by Bernadette, about Sheldon's work being theoretical, just like Amy and Sheldon's sex life?

She certainly won't be able to use that insult again. :icon_biggrin:

SAME! :D

I mean, pretty much all of us have been wanting a girls night like this since we knew about 9x11 with Amy finally being able to chime in! And I love to hear that Amy is all giddy and excited and dreamy about her sex life with Sheldon since they could have gone down a terrible other road. Not to mention the implication that they did it again at some point - just this time with unplanned sudden desire. (I'll also happily accept the "So glad you're back. Bedroom. Now!" headcanon. lol)

I can't wait to see her drifting into the ~the zone~ for a moment fondly remembering whatever passionate lovemaking she and Sheldon engaged in while a smirk is forming on her face - I need that as a reaction gif! LOL

I also loved that Sheldon was apparently the one to invite the girls over and he's happy to see her and wants her close by. I want to see the look on his face when he's signalling her to sit on the chair next to him which I imagine right now as an adorable/hilarious/sweet/happy and very drunk come-hither look. (for lack of a better description)

Yep. It's like the sexual Sheldon thing all over again. First innuendos were falling out of his mouth at every turn and we saw how that turned out. Now it's similar with baby talk. Not that I think Amy will get pregnant any time soon. But I wouldn't be surprised if at some point his plans for the future with Amy will get more concrete and decidedly include starting a family.

~~~
As an aside: YAY my 1000th post! lol most of those were made in this thread...
