- Howardette were really cute. I loved the way she told him about the pregnancy and at the karaoke bar they were adorable. Nice that they have their time in the spotlight for a change.

- The vasectomy line was actually really funny. Sheldon's reaction to the baby was expected. Even after all this growing up and maturing, he's still Sheldon (yes, the show never fails to remind us about that) who doesn't cope well with change. And this change comes as a surprise for him and we also know how Sheldon feels about surprises in general. Of course his first thought was how that'll change the group dynamic. However later he seemed to be more okay with the thought. Okay sure he was drunk, but still. No freak outs, no bolting, no pointing out to Howardette how much of a bad idea having babies is in the first place or anything. I really liked Howard and his little moment there when he said how he'll be the best father he can be. That vasectomy line didn't erase all the baby talk we've heard from him this season. Sure I don't think he's ready to have kids just yet and I'm glad about that, one baby in the show will be enough for a while.

- Amy joining the girl talk was hilarious. The "Me me I'm a grown up and I've done it" line and then the high five with Penny was awesome, laughed so hard. They cut something here right? Too bad, I would've really wanted to see more Amy gushing over their sex life. Well I enjoyed all what we got here and Amy seemed satisfied so it's all good. 

- "He's so wasted" cracked me up so bad..

- Drunk Sheldon is always comedy gold. Is it just me or was he extra adorable tonight? When he was jamming while others were singing and that umbrella scene was just too cute. 

- I enjoyed the karaoke scenes. Penny and Amy's Baby was hilarious, especially Amy. And Sheldon raising his glass to her was cute.

Yeah not a lot of Shamy, but still a fun group episode focusing on Howardette. It's so great to see all of them in the same room just having fun. Even though we didn't get much Shamy, everything in this episode indicates that they are both happy and that equals happy bluebird. 

 

That's right! I forgot to mention in my post how much I enjoyed amused Amy at seeing Sheldon's drunk text--I think she enjoyed being able to point out to her girl friends that "her man" was drunk texting her and that she knew it based on his lack of proper punctuation lol...to me that little scene, and the grin on her face, spoke a lot about where they are at right now. I'm betting season 8 Amy would've frowned and looked confused as to what the heck Sheldon was doing. Maybe that's unfair of me to say, I dunno....

I enjoyed Amy letting loose on stage after starting off a little wooden. It's kinda like that FWF episode where she starts off a little stiff but soon after is totally in the zone! Such a fun scene if you're an Amy fan...shouldn't be surprising though, Amy clearly likes karaoke and you can see it the minute she walks in with Bernie and Penny. Not to mention her hilarious Neil Diamond duet with Howard a while back!

I like Howardette too, very cute and real. I wasn't sure how I was gonna take Howard's freak out session, but after seeing it I thought it was spot on for him. I remember all the doubts my wife and I had when we first learned about our first pregnancy, and I think his reaction was normal for a 20 minute show. Especially the part about his son, or worse yet daughter, inheriting his nose and looks! One of the many things I worried about was whether my kid would inherit any or all of my shortcomings. Totally relatable...

For me, the best part of the show (and looks like you might agree) is drunk Sheldon! Totally stole the show for me, despite the importance of the pregnancy arc being revealed. I will no doubt be watching this episode a few more times by the weekend lol. Loved it!

Anyone else excited after seeing the 200th promo after tonight's episode?? Loved Amy's "and maybe later I'll get to see your birthday suit"...also the horrified looks on Amy, Penny, and Leonard's faces when Sheldon leaps out from behind the sofa with "Surprise!!"

Hey everyone! Seems to be a slow morning here in the Shamy thread, eh? Anyway, a few impressions on the episode:

- I really liked it a lot to the surprise of no one. lol

- What keeps me from totally loving it is that they cut the two things that I wanted to see from the TR: Amy's dreamy face during girls talk and Sheldon signalling Amy to sit next to him in the bar. Oh well, that's the danger from being spoiled. I guess, if I didn't know about it I wouldn't have missed it.

- But more on the good stuff: I loved how Howardette centric it was as they really deserve to be the centre of attention here and the group was so wonderfully supportive!! <3 Seeing everybody having a great time was amazing and hilarious!

- Loved the girls night and seeing Amy having her spunk back. Can funny and happy Amy stay forever, pls? Her excitement about having done it now and knowing how it is when one thing leads to another was adorable. The PAmy high five! <3 Also loved her comment about how Sheldon is totally wasted because of the punctuation.

- Drunk Sheldon though - Oh honey! LMAO I loved how he had a blast during the whole thing. He was so funny and sweet at the same time. Loved his pep talk to Howard, loved that he was still super smart, loved how he said he could beat up the bartender but won't because she's a good kid (LOL), and when he's talking to Amy like "Me doing karaoke? You bet I'm going up there!" ahahaha

- The PAmy duet! <3 And Sheldon toasting to Amy. omg lol

All in all, what a great group episode!!

I first quoted all of your posts, but my post ended up longer than life itself, so I'm just gonna leave these parts in.

Oh you pointed out such good parts! I absolutely agree, I enjoyed seeing Leonard being amused by Sheldon too. And old "smartass" Amy with her "maybe you should get a new doctor" line was awesome. 

About the first bolted part, good catch! I totally missed that. Now it made me curious as well..

The second bolted part, exactly what I was thinking while watching the episode! There's been a change after the reconciliation. Sure Amy still sometimes rolls her eyes to him, but overall I feel like we've gotten less of that frustrated, frowning Amy. Like I said in my earlier post, based on these last couple of episodes, they seem to be in a very good place. 

Yup, drunk Sheldon stole the show for me too. Jim really nailed those, but that's a given. It's funny how they manage to make every drunk Sheldon moment a bit different. In this episode he was such an adorable, happy drunk! All those smiles and grins.. I absolutely loved it when Sheldon asked if anyone would like to see him beat up the bartender and then going nah she's a good kid. Also the part you mentioned about him waving and saying "hey there" on his way to the "bathroom".

I re watched the episode and still laughed in all the same places. I also love drunk Sheldon, love the little Amy smiles and the innuendo that her and Sheldon have done it again since her birthday maybe it is just me thinking this). The episode is about Howard and Bernadette so I didn't expect very many shamy moments. I liked the bartender comment by Sheldon. I really do think they should have Leonard/Penny move out now that Shamy are back together. These are just my opinions.

Haha, yes, bartender thing was such a weirdly specific comment. Years ago he couldn't beat Penny in a wrestling match and even recently she was strong enough to take the keyboard away from him - but now he thinks he can overmatch the bartender girl. What basis of comparison does he have? An acknowledgement that he secretly works out a bit? A hint that he and Amy wrestle between the sheets and he can take her?? lol

Hello my lovely shamy shippers!

I liked the episode. It started really good: we had a cute Howardette moment at the beginning with Howard finding out about the baby while playing a scavenger hunt.

Then there was the scen which really cracked me. The boys were talking about the baby, while Sheldon mentions that a baby would ruin everything. Leonard mentions that they could have two babies in the group: the actual baby and Sheldon.

And then cames this little line which made me scream happily: "Would a baby shave every once a loving days?"

I´m not sure if I understood it correctly, but doesn´t that mean, that Sheldon shaves himself before he has sex with Amy?

I mean why would he call it loving days? He always called his nights with Amy date nights, didn´t he?

It might be just my dirty imagination that interpretes too much into his sentence, but I can´t get over this sentence. 

It would be so cute, if he considered his love play with Amy "making love". I always wanted him to say something like this, so I hope that that´s what he meant.

I´m disappointed thatt they cut out Amy´s dreamy face and that Sheldon patted on the seat next to his, but it´s okay, because we still have a funny episode, because we have a drunk Sheldon who went into the kitchen looking for the toilet.

I would have laughed so much, if he had come back and said, that they all have to taste the vegetable soup and had giggled.

It was fun to watch everyone singing. Leonard doing rap was funny and Howard singing at the end, was so heart-warming and cute!

But my favorite one was a released Amy going all into the song, dancing, pushing her breast forward, while she sings about break up and Sheldon points his glass towards her, like he´s saying: "Go ahead, I like it!"

Unfortunately I have to go, because I´m still ill, I just wanted to throw my two cents in, since I haven´t said anything last week.

One more thing about last weeks episode: I loved Valentino, I hope we get him to see again, after becoming a part of the Wolowitz family.

Frankly, I thought it was stupid.  11 days?  Really?  In previous episodes early on we see that after a couple of days without sleep he needs a shave.

Yeah, it's one of those things that I don't take seriously. Though I have no doubt somewhere down the line someone will take this as a hard fact which is ridiculous.

I sometimes hope that comments like that are just Sheldon having some sort of self-deprecating humour and he says the weirdest things just to see how people react. It would be hilarious if at some point after one of those line he just blurts out "You gullible people believe the darnest things!" or something indicating that he's just having a lark. But that is probably just wishful thinking.

I could never imagine Sheldon with a beard, because he´s the boyish type, so I was really surprised when he came back with this beard after his expedition to the North Pole.

Just watched last night's episode... I liked it but not a fave (I enjoyed last week's more). However, it was great to see all the gang back together and Raj seems to be doing fine after his breakup! I wish there was a little more Shamy: not in terms of plot but just in terms of some casual touching etc... But I guess there's still time this season to really show development in their 'post-coitus' relationship! ;-)

I thought it was a pretty decent episode. I liked the shamy parts and I was also a little disappointed at the cut scenes but over all I liked it. My favorite line of the night was from Raj, "...even drunk Sheldon is smarter than all of us." Lol.

1. I loved the episode! It had everything I could ever want in an episode. Drunk Sheldon, Amy talking about sex, Pamy karoke! Since I am not an elegant essayist I will bullet point my thoughts.
2. Things like Pamy karoke show me how ridiculous worrying about Shenny is. Hug in next episode be damed! These two are best friends and nothing like that would come between them.
3. A few people were dissapointed with the amount of Shamy in the episode. I myself thought it was the perfect level. They are shown to be happy, talking about sex. Sheldon invites her to karoke. I am happy just to have them together like no big deal. I don't need him to kiss her when he sees her. Or anything like that because then it would not feel like Shamy. I am sure they have their private moments and they hinted at it which is enough for me. 
4. Sheldons vascetomy line. was so funny. Last year it would have been "good thing I don't have coitus, or see this is why I don't have coitus." The writers could have had him say "good thing I only had coitus the one time." No he wants to go out and get snipped because he ain't going to stop having sex.
5. I love that Amy knows him enough to know he is drunk by his punctuation.
6. speaking of which why was he partaking? Last time he drank was when he was worried about Amy dating Kripke. He did not drink on valentines day. Maybe someone was a little worried about unplanned pregancy? Maybe something hit close to home?
7. the "not only smarter, but stronger" line was a hoo... Moment line for me. Sheldon finally has a testosterone level. Between this and him erasing that board last week, he is fueling my thirstysomething fire.
8. loved that they marked him up to look like Harry Potter... Why did'nt he go home with Amy? Because it wss funnier to show him marked up like the boy who lived.

Just watched the episode again; I watched it this morning for the first time and I wasn't very impressed by it, but this second time it sounded really better, maybe 6:30 a.m. is not the right time to watch an episode of a show in a foreign language without subtitles, LOL! Anyway, now I can share your enthusiasm on the subject, it was a funny episode! Everybody was having fun, and it was a lovely group episode, finally, with all of them together. It is the first time this season, isn't it? And the next episode will be kind of a group episode, too, so lucky. I'm still looking forward a "normal" group dinner in 4A, but, you know, Season 9 is still young...A little disappointed for the parts that didn't make the final cut (I kind of expected that, though, I don't know why but I felt it...) but all things considered they did not add so much to the episode itself. And, my guess is that TPTB will play with the audience a little bit about the "once a year" thing, it's a way to keep us on our toes. When they give us a "definitive" answer to that question, then the suspense will go away, no expectations at all. This way we are wondering what's going on there and this keeps attention to Shamy, even now that the ship has sailed, so to speak.  So, I'm half expecting discordant clues for the rest of the season. Yeah, I also think they're mercilessly teasing the audience with the "When will they/did they do it again??" Part of me wants to strangle them like OMG JUST GET IT OVER WITH!!!, while the other part is eating up all the little clues and loves to play the guessing game.

Yep. ;-)

But in the Star Wars episode they made all these references to Shamy with the guys in the cinema, e.g. with Raj not being able to walk afterwards, and Leonard said they're going back the next day to watch it again, so there you have it;-)

So could we start a poll? How often do you think they did it? Only once with lots of foreplay or did Amy already put his love for repetition to good use that night? I'm still believing they did it again in the morning, and then when Amy finally came back from that conference so that he could prove to her that he was quite healthy again (and of course with some spanking for Amy having lied to him again), and now in ep. 200 Amy will elaborate in great detail the meaning of birthday suit to him:-) Did I miss anything else? But perhaps that's just wishful thinking...

I think right now considering everything the writers have given us so far, both interpretations are possible. There have been hints that could indicate that it's more than once, but it's not spelled out to the audience, so I guess we can't completely rule out the other option either. They could continue teasing us with this and just at some point it's revealed that they're doing it on regular basis like they did with the kissing or we'll have some sort of storyline for their second time.  So right now I keep on believing they're doing it off screen/have done it more than once until I'm proved wrong

Still wish they hadn't used Sheldon as a prop for Lenny's conversation so we could imagine he went home with Amy instead.
