I agree. I swear, this is the only fandom I've ever encountered in which the show is devoting a whole episode to a well established couple in love deciding to have sex for the first time after years, with the episode in question going into extraordinary lengths (as compared to how these things often happen ugh) making sure that both characters are going in well prepared and really want this up to and including verbal consent(!) - and yet there are still people doubting that both partners equally want to do this, or worse, alleging that one pressured the other... somehow?! This is so bizarre to me.

Depends on what you mean by that. I'm not sure "sock puppets" is the word you were looking for, or maybe I'm just not sure how someone creating fake accounts is applicable in this situation - unless you're saying every person with that opinion is just a sock puppet of someone wanting to stir the pot for shit n giggles??

I'm not saying all of them no but it is horribly common in fandoms.

I was a mod for a forum for a while and caught one of the regular posters who I was actually friends with out doing it

Having just seen the clip on Conan, I think it's a panic attack or something similar. He says some nice things, sounds grateful and he's trying very hard to stay upright and sensible but suddenly realises he's too ill. His face has all the contortions of someone trying not to be sick with dizziness. It's the bathroom not his bedroom he runs to, and that's where one would go with that kind of symptom. It's overwhelming for him but at least he doesn't faint.

I think it's only just been shown on US TV. It's now up for download, late night Thursday 25th GMT. No Shamy talk, no character talk particularly.

I loved the episode!....but does anyone else feel like they have to address the elephant in the room with regards to Shamy coitus....other than small comments here and there that we speculate on, we need on screen confirmation of the continuation of their increased intimacy....don't get me wrong I love where the Shamy is at with all the small bits of fun and togetherness we've seen (no angst, thank god)......but I needs me some Shamy loving...kisses, hugs, more touching....anything!.....the writers are torturing me...lol

It felt to me as though Sheldon was slipping back into his pre-9.10 Amy-putting-down mode slightly. The 9.12 ness wasn't there. Perhaps their intimacy is no longer ongoing after all.

They have given us so much already, I kind of knew we would only get crumbs for awhile.  There were so really cute moments...her coaxing his birthday fears out of him, her fixing his tie, his so Sheldoney confusion over her "birthday suit" comment. He beams at her when she toasts him.  Her trying to convince Leonard that it was her that should care for him going forward, because of how far they've come.  She gets Steven Hawking to offer him birthday greetings.   

I found so much Shamy in this episode, it was subtle...but it was there in spades.

I don´t want crumbs .....I really want to know if they are doing again or not.. based on today episodes seems they are not.. But I liked - besides that we should see more hugs and not only Penny´s - I tought was fun, light episode and very crafted.. Really good.. Kripke and S.K was great,... Adam West too... fun car scenes with the boys...

I totally agree that there was Shamy in this episode, though subtle....lol....I am just being greedy,....I think back to when some small eye coitus was enough for me...hehehe.....and I do believe that the small crumbs we are getting are leading somewhere great!

I think that's the point...before the full on make-out in Amy's doorway and sex, we found tender Shamy moments that thrilled us.  Now they've spoiled us. They've pulled back and are basically asking are you a true Shamy? If you are, you will still see it.  It's still there, we're just not going to hit you over the head for awhile.  I don't mind.  Happy hunting Shamies.

She never wears pants...so that was a no-brainer.  Everyone sees her without pants.  

There were Shamy moments, but they were very overshadowed by the Sheldon/Penny interaction and hug.  So it left this Shamy fan feeling a bit unsettled, like it was missing a follow-on sweet Shamy moment after his hug with Penny.   I felt like Amy was taken for granted in a way and while he appreciated her toast, there wasn't really any true tenderness like I was hoping.   I would have loved to have seen her go up and give her a quick kiss or something.   So many better ways it could have been played that would have been far more satisfying to this Shamy fan.

But honestly, it wasn't the Shamy stuff that bothered me most about the episode.  What bothered me is the unbalance of use of characters and how it really felt like it wasn't a "SHOW" celebratory occasion, but instead as if they were toasting "Sheldon" only.   Kind of annoying to me that it was not treated as a full ensemble celebration.

Ok, I guess it was a good episode, but too focused at people supporting Sheldon and stuff. I barely laughed. And yes, those little Sheldon;Penny moments were cute at first, but then started to baffle me. So, in general, it was...eh, meh. Jay-Z can translate my feelings in a better way.


Btw, Amy's hair looks much better curly than straighten! Hair stylist, you nailed it!

This episode is definitely in my top 5 (so far) this season! Shamy moments were adorable, Shenny moments were incredibly sweet, and it was just overall such a light-hearted, drama-free episode  

And as far as speculation about Shamy sex, I think the fact that Amy said "maybe later I'll get to see your birthday suit" so casually indicates that they're coitusing pretty regularly  I feel like if it was only their second time she would have said something more formal than basically "I wanna see you naked later!" I think it would have been a more shy "maybe later we can celebrate your birthday the way we celebrated mine." Add that to Amy's "girl talk" from last episode and yeah...  

And it seems the writers don't like the couples being frequently casually affectionate so I don't see any harm there - just gotta imagine the off-screen shamy affection

I hate to disagree but Sheldon not understanding what "birthday suit" meant kind of suggests it's only been one time.

While I would believe either situation (once or multiple times), I don't think Sheldon Cooper, of all people, not understanding a saying suggests anything about their activities.  I do think the ease and comfort in which Amy suggested such a thing can suggest that it is not a taboo thing for them and that her getting to see him naked is a regular possibility these days.  But there have been a few things that can suggest they are doing it and at the same time not.  So really, no one knows.
