Gosh! on tumbler there is alot of hate for this episode by Shamy fans, I mean it's no where near my favorite but is it really worth all this hate? I've found a few good things to focus, but as I've stated I think fans are more upset than Amy

Assumed as much since its relatively quiet over here and tumblr tends to be that way.

Your more upset than Amy gets a big LOL.

Two more thoughts...

Wonder if Sheldon massaged Amy after he saw the guy at the mall do it. Stake his claim! And also they are so confident neither have amy doubts using Stuart as their paid pawn. Thats awesome. And Amy did stick up for herself via Stuart calling him I sensitive so seriously doormat Amy is long gone to me.

Wasn't my favourite episode but I'm not worried about them - If I'm honest I think the writers are stalling a bit till they get a confirmed yes or no to season 11. So wanted a couple of light hearted eps to finish, leaving them to go at a suitable pace come season 10.

This episode was funny in places, I loved that Beverly had empathy for Amy and was a Shamy shipper herself !!

Sheldon apology defiantly showed his growth , I loved it, it was rushed for comedy , but Amy's "fine" showed it wasn't a big deal now she'd shown him, in a way he'd understand, that he'd made a mistake and been selfish and he took it, understood she was right and fixed it .

Yes it was shoved in our face a bit that Shamy still have little work to do  with the "Babe " thing etc but all relationships take work :) and part of Shamy is there quirks and moans and gripes , so all's fine IMO.

BUT - really early in season 10 I think it would be fab to get some kisses and cuteness - we deserve it !

I just got around to watching last night's episode and I'll weigh in. I liked the episode. Stewart was great! I don't think that Howard's intention was to have Sheldon send Stewart shopping with Amy, it was to pay someone to stand in line for him. It's unfair to say that Howard is to blame for their tiff, Sheldon just took it the wrong way. The growth of Shamy was extremely evident in this episode, although the apology was rushed. I know it was sincere for him but the speed at which he did it was made it appear insincere. I like Amy standing up for herself and giving it right back to Sheldon. He had come a short way in a long time which is alright but it seems like it should move a little faster now, after 9x11. Overall great episode for the growth of Shamy and a decent episode for the show.

There is undoubtedly growth, just maybe not as much growth as some of us thought or had hoped. Like I said earlier Season 10 should be huge.

I actually thought maybe it would have been better if Amy had taken Sheldon to one side and said to him that she forgave him but if he wanted to not go shopping with her today then he should have communicated so instead of hiring Stuart. I mean it looked like Sheldon had to some degree learnt his lesson but it would have been more powerful if they actually discussed that the communication between them could have been better in this instance. It's basically what Amy said anyway when she was talking to Beverly but Sheldon obviously didn't hear that.

But that is just looking at it from a couple's perspective and not the show itself perspective. There would have been less comedy from the writers perspective if Sheldon wasn't rushing to get back.

I've also re-watched it and Amy said  "we have got back into that bad habit of not communicating properly". So she includes herself in that as well which is correct as she used Stuart as well.

I agree that Amy should have taken sheldon aside, in the hall and talked to him about sending Stewart.

I also agree that the comedy in them being in the hall having a heartfelt talk wouldn't be good for ratings of the casual viewer but it would have been nice but I get it.

Amy including herself about the lack of communication was a big step and admitting that they both have that problem but it kind of defeats the purpose of her statement by acknowledging her forgiveness and not communicating it to Sheldon.

I'll put this out there but maybe the writers didn't want to have back-to-back episodes where they wanted to do something differently and they communicated it so. In the previous episode Amy wanted to do something, Sheldon didn't and they actually talked it through. However this episode they wanted to do different things but this time didn't talk it through.

Maybe the writers are in a subtle way with these two episodes trying to highlight that communication between couples isn't always perfect.

I can dig that statement that the writers didn't want to put it in back to back episodes.

Which couple is perfect? On tv or in real life, none are. Communication can be a big problem in relationships but it seems like that they're slowly moving away from the way they were in S8. At times though, Sheldon seems to understand but not 100%, like when he said, when you never apologize and finally do, it puts them on their heels. That is true but that statement he made at the theater seems to take the steam out of his apology. To me it made it less sincere.

I saw that as another throw-away line, I took the apology to heart because Amy did,

may not make sense to us but it does to Shamy.

I get that. I know it was sincere but the way it was portrayed, to me at least, seemed less sincere by what he said when he went back to the line.

That's the way they are. They get each other so nobody should care. Lol.

just saw the episode... here are my 2 cents:

Amy called Sheldon 'babe'.... now I'm thinking in what context exactly... hmmmmmm.....

Sheldon gave Amy a 3 minute massage???? when??? where????

I hate that all these little things are happening off screen. Yeah, I know... cool my jets, we got coitus BUT seriously!

I understand why Amy started venting in front of Beverly. She is probably the only other one who understands what makes Sheldon tick.

I am glad that their little spat was settled and like others have said, I would rather have had them  go out in the hall alone for this bit and then seen a quick peck on the cheek from Sheldon as he left again. Oh well. I guess the writers thought this was better.

Are we there yet???????????????????????????????? Is it season 10 taping day yet???? :girlglasses:

I agree with you Kelli about the stuff happening off screen but at least we heard about it. Lol. So now we know that there is more physical contact between them. :) I wouldn't mind knowing if she kept her cardigan on though. ;)

Ok I am going to say that I loved this episode. The Shamy stuff didn't bother me in the least and this is the reason why:

1. It did sound to me as if Amy was making Sheldon shop with her. Do we not remember Space Probe? Both guys hated it.

2. Howard was the one to suggest he hire someone to do his errands.(okay maybe he meant in the line but to Sheldon that wasn't  the errand)

3. While his apology was rushed because of the Uber driver, he knew he couldn't blow off her feelings. He meant the apology even if he didn't sound sincere. I absolutely think the line at the theater was a throw away.

4. Most important is Amy accepted it. She knows it's a long road with Sheldon and she has now accepted that and even been validated for doing it. That to me is what matters. She knew he meant the apology so she accepted it.

i do understand some people not liking this episode because they don't want to see it go back to the old way. But if you remember Vacation.....he was going reluctantly and would never have apologized if Amy and Penny hadn't called him out on his behavior.

this time I saw Amy not take his crap and throw it right back in his face. If Sheldon had told Amy in the first place he didn't want to go shopping then the whole thing could have been avoided.

i think Shamy is in a good place and we will see great things in season 10.

Yeah I think Amy's reaction to the apology was telling, there was no anger or anything just 'fine'. I think she would have talked to him outside in the hall if she was really mad and wanted to give him a real telling off. And the more I think about it the theater line was just a throw away, I mean it would pretty much go against everything that the writers have told us about Sheldon in terms of knowing when he has screwed up.

And we did it without going "bat crap crazy"

Also in regards to the message:

what some fans think: "He only gave her three minutes and used a timer, what happened to their intimacy?!"

What I hear: "He knew if he didn't have the timer it would have gone longer and led to other things...
