Your audience in the US watching football on Sunday's is mostly male. I'm not sure a Shamy ad getting back together and having sex is necessarily going to get more guys to watch possibly less since they know what's going to happen. showing  Lenny in bed IMO would be more effective. just like a viagra ad would be more effective than a tampon ad.

So you're saying more men find Leonard sexually attractive, ok good to know!

i dont get why there is only one picture of it

Because CBS has not made the still photos from this episode available yet.  This is episode 11 and they probably won't release the photos until 10 airs (which airs this Thursday).   So photos will probably show up the latter half of this week for episode 11.

The trailer is up on the CBS website now though btw :)

Just mention the word Sex and you have the attention of every guy, so it could work.
But they could have teased a bit more I think to draw in even more ppl.

I actually think they lost viewers espicially since the last new episode was their highest rated. I get what your saying about sex but not in the context of that ad.

Actually, female viewership of the NFL has never been higher.  It's up about 40%.  I am a huge football fan, but I never watch the commercials.

According to SI it's about 33 percent which is a lot more women than even a few years ago. But it's still a 2 to 1 ratio.

Compared to Amy?  It's a coin flip.

Kind of hard to judge since neither this week's or next week's have aired yet.  Perhaps it would be wiser to comment on it AFTER they have aired and had a chance to have Live+7 numbers come in to compare.

Did they do one this year?

Not yet...They did one in December 2014 and they did one in 2013.

So they lost viewers ... but ... had the highest ratings?

I guess I am sort of guessing what's going to happen in the next two weeks. But the Shamy getting back together and having sex being leaked all over the Internet and on previews on TV to me ruins it for the non spoiler viewer. People on this thread and people who sought out the info will still watch but that's not the majority. That's why I think the ratings could be lower. Who knows.

My guess would be that the pros making the promos have a good idea of what works. What works for TBBT could be quite different than what works for other types of shows. I'd guess that for TBBT the appeal is not in the unrelieved event as much as how that heck is that going to unfold. This is good too if one wants the viewers to enjoy reruns. I really do enjoy reruns of TBBT.  I also enjoy having something fresh but that is mostly because you don't want to see the same thing too often.

The last episode had a 3.8 Live + SD rating.  There have been five other episodes this year that were higher.    It had 15.91 million viewers for Live + SD, with four episodes higher.    Overall, the show is down 15% from last year, which is just slightly more than the overall broadcast decline at 13%.

So you meant that you think they are going to lose viewers over the next few episodes?

Yes. Though I think the 17th will be higher than the 10th

I should leave the numbers to you. I'm not sure now what I was reading.

You could be right about that. I actually thought the ratings were better than they were. It could also be a sign of desperation. Although how it unfolds this Thursday doesn't seem that much of a mystery.

IMO the "Call me maybe" flashmob was better. Sure, this one is good too and gold just because Jim dancing is hilarious, but I don't like the song.

Haha I agree. Call me maybe one had multiple songs. But music wise honestly at this point I'm bored of uptown funk but I loved it when it first came out so I didn't mind. However the year call me maybe came out, it was so overexposed that it annoyed the shit out of me, kinda like taylor swift this year (imo. Not judging anybody's music taste). But yea like you said Jim dancing was hilarious and I also loved Johnny's entry with the cape, santa hat and 3d glasses (at least that's what it looked like). He jumped in out of nowhere giving the illusion of flying. But all in all bts stuff and glimpses of what happens at the tapings is appreciated by me.

in colonization application cbs promoted and released almost all the shamy cute scenes and it was one of the most watched of s8..

Makes sense to me.  If one sees some snippets they may wonder "what is this really about/mean." or "how's that going happen".
