Yes...I would almost rather sit a week in the writers room/rehearsals than through the taping in many respects. Just watching the BTS process would be fascinating. Actually the writers room is sort of a hodgepodge of mess. Bill Prady has posted pictures on Twitter in the past. But they do have two very large dry erase boards tacked to the walls where they try to map things out. I'm with Star, I'd love to spend some time there. From Bill's Twitter account, April 22, 2015. Our amazing writers.

3ku11
A: Penny makes Jokes with Leonard, because she knows he still loves her. It's okay to poke fun at someone you love, because you know they don't mean it B: It's a comedy This is the episode I have been waiting for since 1x01. Leonard and Penny going to a Therapist to discuss not only their relationship issues with each other, and the fact Leonard cheating was swept under the rug. But even Penny's relationship with her father, he refers to her as his lil "Slugger". Leonard's relationship with his Mother. I have not been this intrigued for an episode in ages. They both addressed it, what happened, happened. Penny reacted strongly to it, MORE BECAUSE of her ultimate fear of Leonard potentially leaving her for someone smarter. In other words her worries are about whether she is good enough even in the future, something she faced with previous relationships, AND her father. But a talk with the girls (that even with other options that were available to Leonard, he still chose HER), and realizing Leonard's ultimate fear is more or less the same; I think helped put her mind at ease on the whole subject. Heck even Penny admitted to Leonard that maybe she was overreacting the first time they talk in 9x02.

She cares VERY much what Leonard thinks of her, which is why she's quicker to be defensive when she thinks Leonard might think less of her. Exactly. Leonard and Penny feel they don't deserve each other. That's what their conversation at the end of 9x02 was about. Of course they're gonna be more sensitive to everything the other says and get more emotional than they would with anyone else.

That is exactly what makes Sheldon and Penny typical brother and sister relationship. Always scrapping, but she has an affection towards Sheldon. But because of this, she does not give a damn what Sheldon thinks of her. Same with Sheldon he only cares what Amy thinks. Hence why he disses her all the time lol. Penny from day one has always worried what Leonard thinks of her. Since Season 2 when she worried she was not smart enough for Leonard.
LindsayKC
When reading the TR one of the most interesting things that stood out to me was Sheldon indicating that he has synesthesia. I'm having a bit of fun wondering about how such sense would play into his work, given that a lot of his working hours are spent staring at numbers. I have a slight case of synesthesia myself, but it doesn't manifest through any of the traditional five senses. With mine the numbers 1-10 all have distinct genders and personalities and it plays a role with how I do math in my head. It's kind of hard for me to add, subtract, multiply, and divide without picturing a quick scene of the different personalities interacting. It's pretty easy for me to imagine him using such a thing to his advantage given the way he described his synesthesia. It'd be like having a permanent cheat sheet of certain numbers relationships to each other. 'Oh, these two numbers are the same color, let me figure out why. They're both prime, that's why, now I know a prime number as soon as I see it.'
Chrismo
Everyone on this thread has their bias and "generally" like one couple more than another. But to suggest an episode is going to be boring based on a taping report that doesn't feature their "couple" is just acting like a little baby. What makes it even more childish is their "couple" has had a continuous storyline this entire season.
