+1 with Chiany, and it's strange that Kripke and Leslie got invited when everybody knows Sheldon can't stand them. And what's the point of having Leslie here, just to say " Happy birthday Dumbass "? The writers could have thought of something more, having a guest we haven't seen for 5 seasons now and she only gets 2 lines?

And Beverly is invited, but not Mary...

But yeah, it sounds like a nice episode, where everybody says a super cute thing to Sheldon and we have a super guest. But to me, it sounds more like a filler episode while I expected a milestone episode.

Sounds like a Sheldon episode LOL. But yeah I guess a filler for a 200th. They made a big deal about it. And while it seems fun. Any other time I would welcome it. After the angst. In a milestone ep. I agree more was expected. Leslie should have been used better. But she has an interaction with Leonard I guess.

Sure, and that's cool.

But storywise (big picture), it adds nothing.

It is a sitcom.  The big picture is an illusion (essentially an accident) since almost all the creative effort is in all the individual little packages.

I am sorry but no Newlyweds in real life continue to live with a roommate or with one, The Guy best friend, etc,. They  wnat their own place and to live together alone not with a third wheel.

It about time Lenny moved into 4B and Sheldon was  told so start acting like a 35 year old  Man instead of a 11 Year old child and that Lenny caught umbilical cord.

We have not actually seen it yet but it does seem like a party for cast and crew rather than a big milestone episode.

The writers have a way of surprising us.

Well actually about 15 months after our wedding we had a friend move into an extra bedroom to help cut costs while he went back to school. He stayed with us two years. This logic does not work for Leonard and Penny because they are not getting any financial benefit.

I also knew a couple that stayed in the parents house while they saved for a down payment on their first house.

The surprise batman party for someone over 30 and who likes neither surprises or birthday celebrations was not well thought out by his friends. Yikes.

People before the taping: "I just want a fun group episode..."

*the TR indicates a cute group episode*

People: "Wtf?! No big movements plot wise?!"

But we didn't get that, scavenger hunt was a fun group episode. This apparently was a room full of people with a few lines each basically saying nice things to/about Sheldon. Hardly the same thing is it?

It wasn't a surprise though they talked to him about it :)

Eh, with this many guest stars it would have taken a miracle for it to a game changer plot-wise. This seems pleasant, basically unremarkable. Adam West will I am sure be a hoot.

there is one thing that fascinates me though: Leonard and Amy have some sort of argument over who knows Sheldon best in order to settle who gets to talk him out of the bathroom?

firstly: Writers, I love sweet sheldon/penny friendship moments as much as you do, but it feels like you could have done this more gracefully.

secondly: Leonard and Amy are having a pissing match over who knows Sheldon best/ whom Sheldon knows best? Er....

thirdly: Leonard is getting into said pissing match with Amy in order to get to be the one to help him out? Because....leonard is suddenly so eager for this privilege?

Leonard, are you....secretly in love with Sheldon? It would explain quite a bit. Not everything, but quite a bit. Your seeming reluctance to plan your wedding, your sabotaging of said wedding in order to hang with your buddy on your wedding night, your sex dreams about Sheldon, and now your dick measuring contest over who gets to deal with Sheldon's tantrums?

doooooooooooood.

(I am kidding, Lenny friends! I mean, I am a leetle concerned, but mostly i am kidding.)

Hey, nothing wrong with a bit of man-love. Should worry Penny maybe... if she notices.  They do have issues. Lol. But hey, doesn't everyone?

Hope it's funny. Galecki does frustrated desperation really well.

This show is bloody weird anyway lol. What character doesent have issues. Penny: im sick of the manchild! Omg YOUR so amazing Sheldon!! Leonard im moving out. 12 weeks later. Leslie: Nice one Dumbass. Sheldon such an ass. I.wanna go in the bathroom not fair! Penny goes in for the save for some reason. Sheldon still finds hugs irritating.

Weird? Penny was always thoughtful. "It's only logical."  :icon_biggrin:

A Shelnard twist, @wowbagger? Well, exactly 100 episodes earlier than the one we're discussing, in "The Recombination Hypothesis", the episode that played in Leonard's head, Sheldon spent the greatest majority making accidental dick jokes over Settlers of Catan. What would Leonard's mother say about that imaginary portrayal of his best friend? Maybe TBBT is going for the really slow build! Hints will be given mostly at numerical milestones...

Aaanyway, as a non-shipper, I do like the group episodes. I worry that some of the characters that I really like (Leslie, Kripke) might get lost in the shuffle, but I'll reserve judgement on that until after I've seen it!

(PS: I don't know what that quote box is doing there. I can't erase it and it followed me home, even though I didn't even feed or pet it or anything.)

I took a quick tour of the net and found a few things

1. almost everyone is disappointed in the 200th episode, I saw one positive comment

2. Many are upset Penny talked Sheldon out of the bathroom instead of Amy including "Penny needs to stay the hell away from Amy's man"

3. Bill Prady is being tweeted.... Again

Bev was glad she wasn't at her son's wedding? Can the woman just slip on one of her crappy books and break her neck? That would make me laugh.

I'm sorry, I just can't get excited about this episode. 200th or not, it's just another Sheldon episode and I have almost zero interest in watching it, no matter how sweet they all are to him.

Yay for everyone else being happy with it, though. If you're a Sheldon fan I'm sure you're gonna love this and you should.

Thanks to everyone for being so generous with all the info.
