That's bad...and really stupid, IMO. I mean, I get that some fans are upset and disappointed, I really do. But BP didn't write that episode (or any other one since at least a couple of seasons), so why complaining with him? That is just something that can possibly create problems to the fandom, I don't see any point in doing it...

2. That's riduclous. Ppl need to grow up. Shes been neighbors with the guy for nine years. While she's tolerated him.over the years. Vicariously through Leonard. THEY have become friends. And she's married to his roommate. Honestly.

I´m on this group... why penny ? Do not make any sence to me..... they could maybe put out all the 3 together... we keep asking for Lenny to rip off and move out but seems both are stuck with Sheldon.....becaseu they want it.... ( the suck writters of course)

I think would be fun that Sheldon is the one that ask them to move out... kkk would be twist way ... anyway we need this in this season.. they are dragging too much..

Cus Amy and Leonard were too busy fighting to go calm Sheldon down?

Cus to paraphrase Penny 'he's like her little brother' and she looks out for him? 

And then there is the fact that Penny is an adorable ball of fluff

Okay so I am the biggest Shenny hater out there... I don't even like their "cute". Friendship it grosses me out /pisses me off. 

Yet... I was cool with this part because of what it means in my head. Leonard and Amy are fighting over who knows/loves him more. Penny is like "okay ya'll we are'nt getting into this at his b-day party." Penny is the only one with out a bone in the fight her mission is not this prove "Sheldon loves me more ,Haha I know him best". It is a pure retrieval mission.

to me this points at the conversation of Leonard letting Sheldon go is coming. Yes Leonard used to be the only one who cared for him/understood him. Now Amy is back and her connection to Sheldon is more intimate and deeper than ever before. so perhaps he can let the woman who has seen him pantsless be there for him.

I´m okay with their friendship.. but wish writters could use more options... love Sheldon/Raj interaction for example...

But seems a fun episode and this is all it´s matters

I think you may be analyzing this a little too deeply. Sorry this episode was just pure fluff and in itself adds nothing to the existing storyline. Lenny will be eventually be in 4b but it has nothing to do with this episode.

I have to admit when I first read that it was Penny to the rescue, I was like really, again? But now after reading this post it seems to make more sense. Leonard and Amy were fighting and Penny said "I got this."

As far as who sees who pantless, we know they both have  but Amy has seen more(at least I hope) than Leonard. (okay dirty thoughts go away) So that should have been her argument. Okay never mind....I forgot about the North Pole.

All in all this sounds like a good episode but I have to admit I was expecting something a bit more. I am not sure what but more.

If you remember, back in the Earworm ep Sheldon called Leonard his best friend and Penny his friend...They're unlikely friends...So it's nice to see how far they' ve come...

When I started watching the show, I really liked their friendship...Then I got on the Internet, found all the batshit crazy and now unfortunately I have to remind myself not to be influenced by shipper goggles, and I say this as a shipper...

In addition, it fits with the reason Sheldon doesn't like birthdays.  Leonard and Amy can empathize with Sheldon's sad story of rejection by his cooler sister, but only Penny, his ersatz sister, can give him closure.  So it works for me.

It sounds like a strong episode.  Glad to have Leslie Winkle back.  I like how much Barry we're getting this season.  

That being said, I think the 200th episode revolving around only one character is a little jarring.  And I say this as someone who likes the Sheldon character.  At least episode 100 revolved around two of the main characters.

I think the main reason Penny went in to retrieve Sheldon (lol because he's "their dog") was because the big point tptb were trying to make about Sheldon hating birthdays was because he was always let down by his sister, and now he has Penny as his surrogate sister to make up for the past hurt/trauma Missy caused. It's pushing another "look how the group is bringing Sheldon out of his childhood" moment. That's what I think the writers were going for anyway!

yep, same here! until I started following TBBT discussions online it never occurred to me that Sheldon and Penny could be someone's OTP! Same with Sherlolly and Johnlock (which I find to be exactly like Shelnard) on Sherlock -- I'm not seeing what these non-canon shippers are wanting to see! lol

I think you got the part with Penny being a better 'SISTER' for Sheldon exactly right.  I also think the argument between Leonard and Amy represents the gradual passing of the responsibility for Sheldon from Leonard to Amy.  She now knows as much about Sheldon as Leonard does, and is basically taking over. 

The expisode was however a disappointment to me, episode 100 represented a major turning point in the show while episode 200 came off as a mediocre season 9 episode.  There has been talk of lazy writing this season, so the writers producing a mediocre episode and sprinkling guest stars in it to make it special does support the people who claim the writing has gotten lazy IMHO.
