Ha, I thought I've read about the car-accident before. The News-article was from 08/14/15. Tensor said this on 08/12/15. Either someone is a psychic or this rumor originated from this Forum...

As I said, Shamy gal mentioned something traumatic, like a car accident, so the writer in me just went with it. I'm just wondering if someone was googling and came upon that and thought it was somehow from an official site( that happens, even though we do specify that we are unofficial.

I said that it may take something traumatic like an accident to see what they could be losing.  It also makes a point of saying that it would bring the other characters to the fore, which it would do if any two of the main couples are stuck in hospital for a period of time.

I think I've read this fanfic too, Kit. Sheldon gets all fluffy after the accident, I think the writers can do better than that and even so make us happy.

Since its the women who are mad I would probably go with writing that the guys were the ones getting hurt, but there are a lot of ways to go with it.

Yeah, you just constructed increasingly complex scenarios trying to show he was drunk, when Leonard never said that.  Why do that unless you didn't accept his word the he said as only seasick?

He brought up alcohol being involved, and if the tr is to be trusted, he used the words he was drunk directly to reaffirm that. I also never said I didn't accept his word that he was seasick.

Also he never said he was ONLY seasick and nothing else.

Oh, I see, now you trust the TR, but then you have to have it be trusted here.  But I understand, you're questioning of the TR matched the fact that what Michy said, didn't fit with your scenario of the time

Well, there was a report that Chuck Lorre said it was Barrington, but I can't find anything that confirms that.  Penny was addressed as Mrs Hofstadter, but I doubt she's actually gotten her name changed at this point.

Not very.  That report cites a source (Master Hearld in OMAN no less), that cites The Inquisitr (which is nothing more than a rag paper), cites another source (MoviePlot, which gets 90% or more of it's content from fans)  as claiming Chuck Lorre confirmed Barrington in an interview.  However, there is not trace of that supposed interview anywhere.  Throughout those reports, they also say that Penny may be related to one of the other characters, and that her biological father will show up (so what happened with Wyatt?).  IOW, not very believable.

Carlos, I replied to one of your posts, but you ignored my response. If you want to find a comedy that has way more drama then TBBT it is Mom. There are episodes of Mom that are so depressing you wonder how the characters continue to go on. It's a brilliant show, but at times it's very dark. 

I didn't answer to you because I haven't seen Mom so I can't say. In my original post I believe I said that I didn't remember a sitcom with as much drama as TBBT meaning sitcoms that had come before it. You might be totally right, but I think Mom is pretty new. At any rate what I was trying to say with my original comment that I didn't believe I've seen a sitcom with so much drama was pointing at the fact that so much drama is interfering with my enjoyment of the show and of course undermining how funny it is, thus failing (as a comedy). It is my personal belief that in order for there to be comedy there has to be conflict, but not necessarily drama. I welcome a little bit of it, but not what to me is way too much,

Finally Rudy, didn't mean to make you feel as if I was ignoring your answer, just that as I mentioned I haven't seen Mom.

I don't see tbbt having more drama than other sitcoms if you exclude Nickelodeon.

There has been a huge amount of drama in MOM considering how short it has been on.  I don't even think you could call it a typical sitcom, and even compare it to TBBT.
