I do think most on here would like to see Leonard's father and Penny's siblings before Amy's father

Personally, the father I most want to see, is Howard's.

I think that would be a very interesting story to hear.

Actually it all started since somebody wanted to know some basic information about Amy's father, just if he is dead or alive.

Because, right now, he's Schrodinger's Pater.

With the writers pushing in their interviews the subject of possible family members to be introduced I'm pretty sure up to the end of the season we will see one\some of them. With just 6 episodes to be filmed left (and the next one seems to be science-related from the few information we have) I don't think there's room for meeting more than one person this season and I bet on Leonard's father, TBH. They spoke also about Penny interacting more with Beverly, so I don't rule a family reunion of some sort out  (with Berry as Beverly's date? The horror!) I think that it would be really interesting to meet Howard's father, but for me it makes more sense plot-wise to do so next season, maybe in a story-line closer to the birth of Howardette's child.

I do agree at the beginning many of the character story arcs for Penny did relate to Leonard. That changed when the appearance with Priya. There was season 4 and part of season 5 they weren't together. Not to mention all the guys Sheldon saw Penny with before season 3 , including Zack in season 4. Leonard had the Leslie hook up, Stephanie, Dr.Plimpton, Bernie's friend, and the old rich woman. Sheldon on the other hand had never ever been on a date ( or been with a woman) and the only person he has dated is Amy. So I think that's why people think Amy's sole person is for Sheldon.

i think this whole think started as tensor mentioned earlier is because of someone wanting to see Amy's father. I do think most on here would like to see Leonard's father and Penny's siblings before Amy's father because Leonard and Penny's have been on since the beginning.

i don't think Lenny fans IMO are disappointed in their ship but in the way TPTB are portraying them.

in regards to the two ships many on here think the show is nothing without Sheldon. If that was true then wouldn't Amy seem to be not needed?

Why is this even an argument? Of course the show would be nothing without him because....Sheldon.

Shamy is also the NUMBER ONE ship. Let's just get this straight right now.

I don't think the show would be the same without any of the current characters, Sheldon included. That doesn't make Amy "not needed". You are grasping at straws.

I personally think that your and vasu's demeaning of the Lenny couple is vomit inducing as are your opinions in that regard.

And So? Should I care? Still think the writers wrote a mess of a wedding for their first couple on the show. If I was a fan of the couple I would have been pissed. That wedding was BAD. Even Galecki thinks so.

Sheldon and Amy are very likely the ones who have a chance of a more traditional wedding...

Like in the Star Trek Tradition of including Klingon in the ceremony? Not very traditional in the sense of long standing tradition. Before the late 1960's there was no such thing as Klingon.

Probably...it would be nice to have the ceremony in Klingon :D For traditional I meant a ceremony with guests, and a reception.

Think I'd prefer Middle Earth Elvish but Sheldon likes Klingon.

In my own wedding we stuck with the vernacular (English - No Latin). Traditional does not mean the same thing to everyone.

Guys I understand that everyone has their preferences, of course. And I'd like to see more balance in the show as well between the characters but are you really surprised that the show focuses so much on Sheldon? Sheldon is the most popular character on the show, the medias wrote articles about him being the reason the show was so successful over the years. Jim Parsons won Emmy awards/ Golden globe etc for the show. And now with Bialik being nominated in recent years they're focusing on Shamy as well. It's all marketing. That's how tv producers think.

Well, when other characters are not given a chance to show off their talent, of course the media and viewers will think he is the best thing since sliced bread. I think Simon is more talented but what has he won. Jack shit. One character favoured in an ensemble show proves that the others will never win awards because tptb refuses to give others that chance.

Simon is talented as well. Him and Jim are my favorites from the show. In the first years Sheldon wasn't so predominant but the media and the industry still thought the same and started to recognize him. After that, the show started to focus more on him. Because of the attention that his portrayal of Sheldon received.

And hence why Simon has not won anything because the are bleeding the cow dry. Not everyone want to watch the Sheldon show. I for one don't and I'm sure there are millions out there who feel the same, just because they don't go on social media, the Internet or this forum to voice their opinions doesn't mean they don't exit. just because the media thinks he is talented doesn't mean we all have to bow to him. I'm sure if the media gave Simon the exposure Jim gets. He probably would have won loads of awards as well.

That's why imo the show quality had gone down hill this season and s8

I don't know why he hasn't won anything, sadly I'm not givin' the awards :D.  Probably because a lot of "experts" think his character became less interesting when Bernadette was introduced and she was introduced a long time ago. I'd like more balance too on the show but I was just pointing out how  showrunners think most of the times.

Chandler Bing on Friends was by far the most popular character on the show and they still never ever neglected the other characters. And that made the show as great as it was. And in that department TBBT could learn a thing or two from Bright, Kauffman and Crane. JMO.

We need to consider the show is in his 9th season. It's difficult to keep the quality high for a lot of years. That's why the first seasons are way better. For the same reasons maybe it would be better for the show to end next season and not at a potential 11th season.

I haven been watching a lot of friends it's on the comedy channel in the UK everyday. And yes, the show was very balanced and equal screen time for all. That's how an ensemble show should be written. It's a shame that tbbt is all about how much money they can make. I mean look how much adverts are on which a lot of people have complained about. They just don't seem to care what fans think or want.

True. But I have the impression that Big Bang is running out of ideas and they're trying to do what they can (maybe cheap moves) to keep the ratings high. So they're milking the cash cow because they don't have great ideas anymore.
