I don't know if it is a picture from rehearsals of this week episode...but the set seems to be a laboratory, so it fits with the other clues we have up to now. Is there 4A apartment in background?

But a supporting role serves a purpose no? She has had storylines away from Sheldon. But no one on the show has an individual storyline that doesn't involve another character. 

Where does this put Bernadette now she is pregnant? 

I think that while Bernadette is also a supporting character she has been given more "independent" story lines, meaning that are mainly about her. In Amy's case (much to my dismay) TPTB don't seem to treat her like a real character which is , IMO a big mistake because when used correctly, Mayim can definitely be comedy gold. The biggest proof of this is the way we saw her character portrayed during the Shamy split. I was hoping week after week to see a little bit of Amy's point of view, but no, we saw nothing. IMO that is bad story telling, but what do I know?

I guess Amy kind of knows how lenny feel now

The writers said they had no plans for Sheldon getting a gf. And diddnt plan on Mayim staying long. So im just saying Shamy wasent premeditated. And imo any other actress or character be no difference. Ppl are just appealed by Sheldon in a relationship no matter who it was gonna be. But that's just me.

There are at least two interviews by JP (one with Craig Ferguson and one at Comic Cons) back to Season 2 in which he stated that at some point he was sure a gf would have arrived. Also Bernadette at the beginning was going to stay just few episodes, then TPTB saw that audience loved her and the cast got along well. It's natural to add new characters this way. Maybe Shamy was not premeditated, but what can be in a Sit-Com? If people hated Mayim (or any other character, on that matter) the character would have been cancelled...

I disagree.

Martha was a potential gf for Sheldon, but I don't think it would've worked out half as well, as it did with Amy as his gf.

Sheldon and Amy just work so well together.

yes sometimes Jim seems to know before the writers :D he was talking about the arrival of a girlfriend back then when the writers actually had no plans about it. Same thing about Sheldon and sex.

I've noticed (at least from what I remember) that everytime they ask Parsons something about his character in the future, it always turns out that he was right. I remember this happened with the ring, sex and the girlfriend question that mirs1said above. Also, I think I remember him describing what S would be like in a relationship or he was describing the potential girlfriend and he was exactly right. So, either he's very intuitive or they tell him things in advance. :D I think it's a bit of both.

As for Amy, I think the fact that they had her come into a season finale makes it clear that they came up with the idea who knows when but wanted to see people's reactions first. Yes, to a certain point people were intrigued because of the Sheldon element, but if it had been only that, they would have pulled the plug on that one a long time ago, because intrigue can only take you so far. All the ingredients have to combine well together. For me, Sheldon and Amy have the best chemistry on the show and ultimately that's what makes this work.

TPTB also said they were never going to introduce babies into the show, and Molaro literally came up with it the day before the table read of that episode! Canon basically comes out of nowhere with these people  These writers are fickle and sneaky and basically we should just never take anything they say about future plots too seriously! I 99% expect a Lenny renewing of vows or a belated reception/honeymoon -- I just can't trust that they wouldn't give them more despite how much they protest

It keeps everyone guessing and everything unpredictable. Even the people "in the know" have no clue what will happen more than a few episodes down the line.

After all the hinting they did about babies I don't believe the "I decided on the day" crap Molaro said in this interviews at all!

In a recent interview Kunal said that he and Emily were gonna try and make it work too, this was before the 200th taping (ring a bell with anyone?) so how did he know what was gonna happen there? 

They constantly say they know nothing but I think they know at least a few weeks ahead at least!

this is something I keep reminding myself when I get my hopes up.... same goes for what they say in interviews!

I so agree with this EvB, but I think they know even further ahead than that.  There is no way you are going to drop as huge an event as characters becoming parents as an after thought......I think that Lorre, Prady and Molaro even know how the show is going to end and ALL the steps on the way.  Anything else they say is just BS....(my opinion only!!!).
