OK, guys, I get it.  This will be my last post on the current subject.  I just want to clear up two things that are incorrect 

Nice try at moving the goalposts but here's what you said 2 days ago:

You mentioned NOTHING in that post above about wanting me to present evidence that it's wrong and presumptuous for him to think that the writing makes no sense.  You said "All I asked" implying nothing else. 

 

The post in question, was not addressed to you, it was addressed to another poster, in response to a specific question of that other poster. (and I noticed your word games, mentioning that one post that wasn't addressed to you and ignoring those that were addressed to you, nice cherry pick).     

Also,  there was this explaining the use of reductio ad absurdum and prior to that there was there was this, explaining how I was using an example.

So it was established that it was being used as an example.

 

The following, in various forms were both before and after the post you cite (I counted about 8 ), is what I specifically asked and they were directed specifically at you,  note the bold here :

That's the beauty of this, you have proven yourself wrong, by not showing vasu is wrong.   Simply saying it doesn't make sense to you, does not make it wrong for vasu to say it doesn't make sense to him.  Argument from incredulity isn't valid.  Now, if you can show vasu is absolutely wrong to say it doesn't make sense, without using hypotheticals or incredulity, you may have a point.

So, you did a nice job of digging out something that didn't apply to try to avoid acknowledging and answering the question I did ask.

So, now that those two things are corrected, I will bow to popular opinion (thanks guys and ladies) and I will not answer any further posts on this specific matter.

the thing is she doesn't care about Lenny. all she cares about is Sheldon. it's the only reason she watches the show. and in reality has anything REALLY BAD  happened to Sheldon? The fact is the show's ratings have been going down. the numbers back that up. IMO there is no refuting that. Is it a lack of ideas? I can't say for certainity it is but then again I can't say for certainity it is not.

not sure what your post has to do with what I posted. I have been posted positive things on the Lenny thread though I'm not sure if you have ever been on there. my reply to Carlos earlier suggested there was a problem with the writers. I also agreed with Carlos how phanta only says positive things about the writers. The Lenny shippers don't have a problem with me. I know  you do and probably some Shamy shippers do. As in regards to cherry picking you must agree with how wonderful the writers are because you didn't disagree with phanta. In regards to Lenny they weren't featured much in season 8. I'm not sure many would disagree with that. In regards to Leonard kissing Mandy on the boat not necessary IMO. In regards to Shamy they are funny together at times. i don't buy the scenario of them as a couple but that's just me.

One thing they could do is give Lenny a kick-ass reception after this thing with Mandy is resolved.  I would think it would be both great and funny if the gang got all seriously drunk and next morning Amy and Sheldon woke up in bed together (no sex yet, just cuddled together).  I also thing it would be fun if Howard, Raj, Bernadette and Emily woke up in a king size bed together (again no sex), that would be so hilariously awkward and Raj could keep bringing up that now he has slept with Bernadette and Penny.

That would be funny :) but can't see them throwing a party for Lenny. Heck they probably wouldn't mentioned the marriage again in S9 just like the engagement in S8. :) Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk

Chrismo, you are completely wrong about my opinion about phanta's predictions. I wrote that she had made some great points about possible ways the story could take place but I've never changed my opinion about the premiere itself. And I've still made my dislike of Leonard waiting for two years to tell Penny about the kiss and the way their wedding played out quite clear. 

And really, what was the last time you've posted anything positive about the show at all? It all comes down to "I hate show because I hate Sheldon and I am not Happy with the way Lenny has been written for a 1+ year but I continue watching the show for years and complain but only about Sheldon/Shamy".

especially no sex, the Shamy's don't want drunken sex and I agree.  Just picture Sheldon's face when he wakes up with it buried in Amy's hair, shock then acceptance, finally a small smile as he closes his eyes. Then pan to Amy's face which goes through the same expressions.  I think it would be a great way to end the breakup.  Then they could have sleep overs, holding off to bring in sex later.

I just think it could be a way to get back together without some overly dramatic talk between them, because I don't think Sheldon is at the point where he would  be able to talk deeply with Amy about all that has happened, I think a simple action like waking up together and them both happy about it would be enough.  This would allow them to also have no sex sleep overs where she actually sleeps with him.  Also, if you had Leonard and Penny, spending some nights over in Leonard's old room, so Sheldon is not lonely, you now have the situation where some mornings there would be four of them there, that could be funny.  It would also allow Amy to gradually move in, as she stays more and Lenny stays less.  Also it opens up new areas of comedy, the four of them crowded together, Penny making the apartment messy and Sheldon having to learn to live with girls unmentionables showing up all the time.

I have over 2800+ posts on this forum. I have at times hated Sheldon. I'm sure I'm not the only one. If you choose to "cherry pick" some of my posts go ahead. Lenny IMO hasn't been written well in the last 1+ year.  Many would agree with me.

I don't know how small the minority really is. Between using the ignore feature on some posters and skimming the less frequent negative posters one can bypass a lot of the negativity. Historically some go ape crazy after a taping report that puts their ship in a bad light. Most often much of the negativity evaporates after a episode airs because perceptions change once people see the actually episode. It May not be the case this time. It might take a few episodes.

That ignore feature is wonderful!  I have used it already and makes this forum much more pleasant.  I haven't been on here very long but the negativity on this forum astounds me.  If you don't like what is happening, don't read spoilers or don't bother watching the show.  Perhaps that is where the problem lies -- spoilers.

the thing is though on the shipping threads only supportive, and thus positive IMO, comments can be said. There really can't be any negativity. Thus only anything negative (incorrect as it may be) comments are put onto this thread.

TBBT is the show that keeps on giving. And that's fine. Any attention means their strategy is working. TPTB want us to watch. Not sure if they need us to love them every single day. As long as they get the eyeballs each week.  At the moment it's sort of set at "the beatings will continue until morale improves". Still, I'm intrigued as to how they plan to patch this. And I hope it's brilliantly executed. What are the odds. If not, well ... maybe it'll be funny. :)

I think, instead, that the post you quoted has some good points about friendship. Of course, if you don't care for Sheldon's character, you don't care for those points, and that's nothing wrong with it, but for some other people, like me, the kind of loneliness he is experiencing is sad to watch. Sheldon is the most annoying character ever created in a TV show, nobody denies it;  nevertheless his friendship with the guys lasts from more than ten years, Leonard is his best friend and the feeling is mutual (Leonard more than ones said that Sheldon is his best friends), so the situation at Howard's home was at least strange. He acted very badly at the wedding, but none of it would have happened if those "close" friends had not decided to not invite him. 

Moreover, even if he was in distress himself, he went to Penny to console her, said that he was sorry and that he understood her side, but found no much sympathy on her part. I'm not saying that all the guys and Penny should take Sheldon's side if they don't feel it (actually I think he was wrong, and yet IC, throughout all the episode, so I'm not taking his side too) but that all his friends that know him for more than ten years don't understand that this situation can make him go nuts and underestimate to this point his pain is very sad. I'll wait know what happens in the second episode, but what happened in the first one for me wasn't the behavior you should expect from close friends...

its a two way street maybe if Sheldon treated his friends better the past decade. Now in his time of need, he would get more sympathy and support. Its not all about Sheldon, when.has he actually cared about his friends issues? So why should they? I seem to remember. Leonard: I did a bad thing, i feel really guilty Sheldon: Does it involve me? Leonard: No Sheldon: Then suffer in silence. Lol i mean thats always been his predisposition. Hes basically the charlie harper of big bang. Maybe if he put the time and effort to.appreciate those around him, like he was susposed to after Proton. He wouldent be searching for any kind of sympathetic ear. Just my opinion.

Yes I agree with you that spoilers are a big source of the negativity here. They only convey a portion of what an episode is like, which often turns out better or simply different than expected. Maybe it would be better had spoilers not existed...

I also hope that the people who appear passionate about this show are as passionate about their own lives and what happens in their world.  Remember, it is just a TV show.  In ten years from now, it will not be on and there will be another TV show that will make people just as passionate, negative, positive and TBBT will just be a fleeting memory (or still in syndication), whichever comes first :).  

Which means I may have a whole new group of people to ignore!  LOL!
