I also hope that the people who appear passionate about this show are as passionate about their own lives and what happens in their world.  Remember, it is just a TV show.  In ten years from now, it will not be on and there will be another TV show that will make people just as passionate, negative, positive and TBBT will just be a fleeting memory (or still in syndication).

I think it'll still be in syndication in the same way Friends and Seinfeld are.

And I think that the fact that people are angry shows that they still care a lot for the show, no matter what they say. After all, if you really didn't give a shit you wouldnt feel such strong emotions over these new spoilers :icon_wink:

its a two way street maybe if Sheldon treated his friends better the past decade. Now in his time of need, he would get more sympathy and support. Its not all about Sheldon, when.has he actually cared about his friends issues? So why should they? I seem to remember. Leonard: I did a bad thing, i feel really guilty Sheldon: Does it involve me? Leonard: No Sheldon: Then suffer in silence. Lol i mean thats always been his predisposition. Hes basically the charlie harper of big bang. Maybe if he put the time and effort to.appreciate those around him, like he was susposed to after Proton. He wouldent be searching for any kind of sympathetic ear. Just my opinion.

Few people actually change without backsliding and on going effort. It takes motivation. A desire to patch things up may well be the motivation that Sheldon needs.

Which means I may have a whole new group of people to ignore!  LOL!

it's the same thing as sport. People follow teams and join clubs. Here there are no membership fees and you don't have to worry about getting wet when you barrack for your team. And there is sledging too. hehe.

I agree with you there.  If they didn't care, they wouldn't feel such strong emotions but I also feel things have to be put into perspective.   I'd love to know what show in ten years will make some people so apoplectic that they will threaten to not watch it, argue with everyone on some forum about it etc.  I love the Big Bang Theory but I don't really want to spend my time arguing with people over its merits etc.  If it's good, it's good, if it's not, it's not.  It's like my golf game.  Sometimes I play well and sometimes I don't.  There's always the next game.

But every sitcom I have ever watched has gone through this--sometimes they get better, sometimes they don't.  There's always something else to watch.

Friends  ended and the world diddnt end. When this show ends, the world wont too. End of day, one day somebody well be looking back at you, its a generational thing. Although tbbt seems to be the last of its kinda, multi camera sitcom.wise. With network tv in.decline, streaming etc. Tbbt maybe the last of its kind, this huge anyway. I disagree tho considering its syndication and popularlity, just like Friends, Seinfeld, Taahm etc. Well be playing reruns ten years from now. I mean no one expected Friends too, almost twenty years on s2 was airing hrre this week.

Agreed. Every show have episodes that are going to disappoint some fans and have storylines that are gonna anger viewers. If you can't take it anymore you can just quit watching. Easy peasy. Of course, some people (like the folks on this forum) are going to have a lot of difficulty in letting go of a show that's given them many enjoyable years so they keep watching in the hopes that things will get better in time. And maybe that will happen with Big Bang Theory. I mean they've only shot one episode of the new season!

Anyway, I am one of those people who will keep watching this new season with the hope that the issues between the two main couples will get resolved in an effective manner without taking too many episodes so that the show can get back to being its typically simple and lighthearted self.

Oscillation Meaning:

: the act of regularly moving from one position to another and back to the original position

: a frequent change from one state, position, or amount to another

: the act of changing from one belief, feeling, etc., to an opposite one

in physics, it's motion like the pendulum of a clock, tick, tick, tock

the thing is though on the shipping threads only supportive, and thus positive IMO, comments can be said. There really can't be any negativity. Thus only anything negative (incorrect as it may be) comments are put onto this thread.

I thought one could only not speak against the ships. I would have thought displeasure with the writing of the ship is a frequent topic.

well i meant that last moment they went in opposite directions. So technically seperated.

Their marital status isn't "separated".  They're only separated in the temporary sense that they're not physically in the same room.

BUUUUUT they're married. Yes, yes, he was at his apartment, she at hers, I understand your point. But according to the storyline they're still together, which makes me think that this is about Shamy (Tara's name at the script cover reinforces my belief, but what do I know?).

I usually dont pay much attention as to which writers write which episodes but is Tara associated with Shamy stories?

When I first got into a Facebook group of the show, people said me this. It might mean nothing, but I recommend that someone more experience answer this. Maybe they lied to me, lol.

well it applies to other phenomena besides motion in physics just like not all clocks are mechanical.

For example oscillating electromagnetic fields result in radio waves.

I think it's just a coincidence but who knows. The writers have said that they write as a group but it could be that some writers show more attention to certain aspects of the show. For instance I know from Comic-Con panels that Steve Holland is a huge Star Wars nerd so maybe he's the one who puts in Star Wars jokes.
