It looks like they are all laughing at the end of the table reading...hopefully the episode is funny!

Hopefully that means it doesn't end with a downer like last year. lol

I don't think there will be more drama about Lenny in the season finale. I mean the writers already screwed up their wedding once in last season, they're gonna do it again? No way. And I doubt Shamy will be engaged 'cause clearly the show will be renewed for more seasons. The writers only have so many cards in their hands, they're gonna take things as slow as possible. Plus Sheldon and Amy are not the type of people who just decide to get married just because other people are married.

My take is the finale will be a sweet get together with just a little twist in the middle maybe created by Leonard's parents or Raj and his girlfriends but in the end everything is fine, like Howardette's wedding or Sheldon's birthday party.

The only thing that bothers me is 13 episodes after The Opening Night Excitation, the writers still aren't going to deal with Shamy's sex life. After this summer, it'll be really close to Amy's next birthday and I can't believe they think it's perfectly fine to actually let sex be a birthday gift and to make jokes about Amy's desire in almost every episode but not do anything about it. Unbelievable.

It looks like Christine is sitting next to Melissa.

I don't know why, but that smirk gave me the impression he is the one who has the last line of the season...

This is a great shot.  I can see our favorite 7 and who looks to be Christine B next to Melissa.  From the angle provided, I don't see Judd H.....Great to see them all laughing!  Wonder what is in store for Episode 9.24???

No, it finished up in February.   I don't think we can see everyone at the table and then there are others sitting next to the table we can't see....so Judd and Laurie may be sitting out of frame of the camera.  I expect next Monday is going to be a very heavy press day on set.

I wonder if they did any FYC photos yet for Emmy's.   Those have to be submitted soon.   Curious if they did any photoshoots we don't know about.  They often take photos now, near the finale for August/September release for the upcoming season (Season 10)....so curious if any photos have been done for that as well.

Well, unless tptb are going to surpass us with some other guest-star, maybe it has something to do with the actor playing Penny's father being busy elsewhere and with he fact that the show  usually introduces  family members for the main cast one by one...so given that they have decided to introduce Leonard's father this time, they could have decided to "save" Penny's mother for next season. I think there will be a sort of explanation for their absence during the episode....In general, having a wedding with a lot of people and all parents there is a big effort for a show, especially a sit-com like TBBT; for Howardette's wedding, Bernie's mother was there off-screen, for example.

true... we'll find out soon enough

I agree. Where are her parents? Mary is also suppose to be on the finale. While it was very nice we found out about this wedding redo there seems to be a lot more questions than answers. Was Bernadette and/or Amy an influence in the decision? Why did Stuart have  to stand in line for Sheldon? Why was Beverly there to begin with? Did Leonard know she was coming?

exactly, they are really leaving us guessing this year...

I know you are probably not going to like this but I think the tag scene may be Sheldon proposing. I'm sure that's being talked about on the other thread. It somewhat makes sense since like Howdette their relationship is based on help from others. My hope though that it wouldn't kill the Lenny redo buzz.

At first, I was also thinking and even hoping for a proposal this season BUT... then at work today, I started thinking that it would be too cliche. Howard and Bernadette got engaged at the end of season 4(e.20) &  Leonard and Penny at the end of season 7(e.23) and we all know that Raj isn't getting married on the show any time soon. I don't know if that's something the writers are intending to do for a third time ( even though third time's a charm, right?)

Perhaps Amy's birthday which coincided with the Force Awakens release last year (Dec 18).

The release of Rouge One this year will be Dec. 14 which could put Sheldon in a good mood just before Amy's birthday.

I'd not know her birthdate but for the fact these release dates are all over the web. (keep it real)

The answer is yes, there is such a thing. Lots of couples have two wedding ceremonies for all sorts of reasons.

In the UK Prince Charles, for instance, had two and they were on the same day. Every Asian couple I know has had two some weeks or months apart.

...ok. Now, what I can't see is how a redo helps this couple in this context. What  cultural merit are they purchasing?  It might be for some kind of parental pandering, but do they deserve that? Personally, I can't see it as other than a grasping at straws, from a story sense.  Ratings grab maybe? "Hey, let's throw in a wedding, again, because we stuffed the last one".

I'd allow that it could be entertainly fraught. What if Penny says "Sheldon" for instance. Oh how we'd all laugh.

I'll just wait to be amazed, but I can't see that it's for them.

:)

It's not necessarily cultural.  We (the hubs & I) had a very, very good friend elope to Mexico with only immediate family present.  A few months later, they threw a massive picnic and renewed their vows in front of 200 guests.

Well it's always nice to party. And that would have been lovely. But here, I think, it's a re-write because they need content. Because of thin premise...

If they dump Sheldon after and live like a couple then I'd be fine. Heheh.

...besides a redo would be a good time to introduce Penny's mother as someone pointed out. Leonard has not been shown talking to his dad even on a phone. Penny's Dad showed he actually cared about her. Beverly has shown little interest in Leonard and Penny.

True. Not particularly cultural at all. If you have a small, quiet wedding abroad, say, and then all the old ladies at church refuse to let you get away with it when you come home, another wedding is essential. LOL

This sort of second wedding is  officially known in the Church of England  as a 'blessing' but apart from the fact that the bride and groom might enter the church together and go up the aisle side by side, you can't see the difference.

For Lenny and any other couple whose family and friends want to hear their vows and have a party, a second wedding is nice to do and makes other people feel part of it  and send presents. My friends' granddaughter and her husband sent out invitations saying, ' N an M invite you to celebrate X months of their legal happiness at ........ on .......... ' and everybody who'd been disappointed at missing the couple's Lenny-type marriage ceremony felt better about it. That is the benefit some people get out of it. It can soothe a lot of genuinely hurt feelings

If Lenny find out that nobody they loved heard their actual marriage ceremony ( unless they'd notified others than our gang ) they might want to do it again and have a party with a make-your-own sundae machine. After all, even the post facto stag weekend and hen night weren't exactly huge fun occasions. Wedding presents are important for getting a couple started, even if they've got a lot of their own things. It'd be fun to hire a room, have a reception and perhaps play a recording of the Vegas wedding if they don't feel like dressing up  and saying everything all over again. Or if they went on the roof and turned getting married by their pals under the Google satellite into a tradition for members of the gang and then had the reception up there, everybody could feel involved.

Squee! Squee! Maybe a Lenny nuptials re-do! A re-do of that horrible, piece of shit wedding they gave us! Squee! At the moment**, I am giddy and absolutely thrilled!

** but I'm just waiting for the loud swooshing sound that will come just as the next shoe is dropped.

The only thing I hope is that when the other shoe drops it doesn't fall on me or it might kill me (lol).

It would be good to see a renewal of vows between Leonard and Penny as I wasn't a fan of their vegas wedding. There was too much tension going on in the background with the Shamy split and some tension between Leonard and Penny about the Mandy Chow kiss. Plus it will be good for all the gang to hopefully be there and celebrate the wedding together this time.

Hopefully Leonard finally gets the approval and love of his parents. It sounds like his mother is the one pushing for a re-do wedding, and maybe his father finally realizes he should have been there more for his son.

If they want to add drama to the affair I hope it's for Raj, like other posters have said maybe both Emily and Claire turn up, they get to know each other and then both dump him in front of everyone. Raj then decides to fly back to India to lick his wounds, hopefully coming back next season showing a bit more humility and maturity.

I mostly agree with your post. What I would like would be to see a sublime Lenny wedding re-do, with Leonard and Penny at their loveliest best. I want it to be as emotional as Penny's first  "I love you" and for everything to be perfect. However since I know TPTB will not be able to help themselves they can throw in one of their cheap jokes at the end, but it'd be nice if for once Lenny had a perfect moment, the kind a lot of us have been hoping to see, at least once.

Well, thought out. I hope the writers are as intuitive.

I hope SRAM would be one of the show's writers. Most often than not I like his proposed ideas for future plots more than what ends up happening.

There was something similar posted at the end of last season and the last words on the script weren't even the ones said when aired

I'm hoping for shamy cuteness in the final for once :)

I agree with all your post except the "Shamy cuteness for once". What do you mean? There's been plenty of Shamy cuteness this season. I'd hope for some Lenny cuteness, or at least lack of snark between them (Leonard and Penny).
