I don't understand how people can think Leonard was admiring Raj's situation?  I got the impression he was amazed, because he did make a remark about it being Raj this was happening too.  I think you are trying to lump this into his "Player" remark from a previous episode, which he said in front of Penny, and even she didn't see it as Leonard being envious of Raj because it wasn't, it was a male complement to another guy.  Leonard has never been envious of any of they guys since he and Penny got back together.

What's the consensus view on here? Let's say we have two scenarios:

Sheldon be mature and decide it's time Lenny moved out not only for the good of their marriage but also an opportunity to live alone for a while or maybe ask Amy to move in.

Lenny just say to Sheldon we have had enough, we are going you will just have to deal with it.

Whatever the plot permutations or how the specific dialogue plays out I am always going to pick the former if these are the two options.

I just don't see any drama and conflict if they just moved out. Well, yeah, Sheldon would whine about it, so I suppose we can't have an upset Sheldon and have Lenny happy now can we?

Why can't they all just be happy? Lenny happy, Sheldon happy, maybe even Amy happy.

I agree.  I don't think the drama stems from living arrangements.  Its deeper than that I predict.

Ideally, I would like Sheldon to suggest to Lenny that it is time for them to start their life together separately from him and move into their own place.   He can explain that he needs more privacy now that he and Amy have grown in their relationship and want more time together and that it would be best for them as well.   But I doubt the writers would ever go there.  They love having Sheldon love attention and take it from whoever he can get it from.

It has lasted too long for my liking already.

I guess there is always different ways of looking at things. To me it is about respecting another as a person rather than as an object or plaything. What happened to Raj's empathy for others? He is an empathetic as house guest but a self centered ass as a boyfriend. I don't buy it. Multiple personality disorder?

Raj has always been that guy though. He can be a deep thinker and a romantic (overly so) and there are episodes when he gives pretty solid advice and is that guy that can be counted on to bring sensibility and compassion to a debate or argument...he is also the guy who had a threesome with Howard, made a move on Penny, daydreamed about his bf's wife and wrote poetry about her "playing his clarinet", etc etc...when it comes to women and relationships, he's as lost as they come.

Lets not forget he was the guy for several years that couldn't utter a word to women. Yeah, there are some issues going on there lol.

For me at first the storyline had a bit of amusement but it died down pretty quickly when he went on his bragging tour.

I don't want the Raj character to end up alone, just find one woman for him to be with. Raj is always at his best when he's trying to be supportive to one of the members of the group but is borderline over the top, or when he displays some of his hilarious metrosexuality moments like we saw recently with the giant bear episode.

I think the prospect of Raj settling down with one woman and her having to deal with some of his quirks and metrosexual behavior could be hilarious. And I wouldn't pick Emily or Claire as the woman for him to settle down with, neither are clearly the 'one' with the way he has been behaving.

But that's just my opinion.

I would have loved to see something develop between Raj and that vet that helped Cinammon on the VDay episode, she was cute and funny.

I rather liked the episode where Leonard and Sheldon went shopping with the ladies, and when they were waiting for them in the dressing room lounge Leonard and Sheldon get into an argument about things. Leonard points out to Sheldon that HE is the one responsible for preventing him from living with his own wife, and Sheldon had a moment of clarity and acknowledges his difficult personality and thanks Leonard for "putting up" with him. They both end up in tears (loved Amy's reaction when she returns to see it, "Are you kidding, you know he's still a flight risk!"....

Anyway, I would like Sheldon to somehow have that moment of clarity again and, for the sake of his friendships with both Penny and Leonard, he encourages them to move out and be happy. Whether Amy replaces them or he tries going solo, I really don't care (as long as if he chooses solo we don't get a hurt and disappointed Amy out of it)...

The great thing from a production standpoint about Raj dating two girls is look how much money they saved just this episode. One of the main plots of it was Raj and the two girlfriends and they didn't have to pay a cent to either actress because they weren't even in the background of any scene. :)

I'm ok with the off screen "dating" as long as the plot line ends with Emily and Claire kicking is back ON SCREEN!!!

LOL. Better the producers would take the saved expenses for a longer time frame to resolve the episode conflicts in a meaningful way. :shy:

It's funny how some people still hope for any changes in the living arrangements. We're basically at the same stage as two years ago and there has been no significant change at all. I'm usually not that critical, but I think they didn't handle the living situation very well. To me it feels like they don't really know what to do, so the whole thing has been all over the place throughout season seven, eight and nine. They have been jerking us around the entire time. I've been getting my hopes up with countless episodes where they addressed the issue, but nothing important ever came out of it. They just keep finding excuses to delay it even further. I think I'll just accept that it's not gonna happen until the series finale. And then we can all go: "Aww, look how much Sheldon has changed. Praise him". :icon_rolleyes:

I don't think I'll really give a damn when Leonard and Penny finally leave the nutbag alone at 4A. It's been way too long.

I guess you’re right, but it is rumored…well, we all waiting for a new season to arrived! :blind:

Well, Sheldon hasn't shown any progress since they've decided to live together in 9.04, I have no reason to assume he's gonna make progress in the season nine finale. And with all the parents around, it doesn't seem like a plausible storyline in the first place. I doubt the parents would get involved in the whole thing. I'm not even sure how that could work out...

Something is always big for the season final.  Changing living arrangements will not work without a restraining order.  My guess is that Leonard's father will push Leonard into action about moving out.   Last scene Leonard leaving.  Next season Penny would broker a new  friendship agreement with privacy and insult boundaries along with communal meals.

Penny will be the key to the outcome.

It all depends on how TPTB structures the way ahead for the story to continue.

While I agree that Sheldon hasn't made progress I think having the parents there make it more plausible. Someone is going question why a married couple has to live with Sheldon.

Do you think Leonard's father knows anything about the whole thing or cares enough to "push" Leonard into moving out? I don't know, seems rather unlikely. We don't know much about him anyway. Has he seen Leonard at all in the last few years?

To my thinking admiring, amazed and envious are quite close to each other. They are all a long way from disgusted.

Good point. Maybe this will get them thinking.

I could see Leonard's father saying "so you're married to Penny.  Penny has an apartment.  You both live with Sheldon in his apartment.  Why don't you move son?"
