Luckily both friendships are nowhere near romantic and they've never been.

Well they have tried to have some things appear more than they are with Sheldon and Penny (such as that dream of Leonard's where Penny and Sheldon kissed (ugh)) and that to me was totally unnecessary.   There was no reason to go there in some of those scenarios.   It isn't realistic that every person you become close to in your life you are suddenly going to make out with and hop in bed with.   So why do we want fantasies about that when the show clearly has tried to make Sheldon and Penny sibling-friends and love each other as such and nothing more...so why show romantic scenes with them period?   Same with Leonard...no need to even go there.   Just show friendships there...let those that they are in a romance with and relationship that is meant to be romantic be that...let them show respect and love for their significant others, while still adding some comedic situational stuff to keep it funny.   No need to break boundaries.

Well said. Still, I can't help but having fun with the mental image of Sheldon, getting on his knees to kiss Bernie...or would she bring a stool?   

Jokes aside, it's true one "sibling" kiss was enough to scare the hell out of me so I think I'm good like it is.

Because the show is written for the masses, not the 1% who dissect every aspect of the characters lives....you know people like us.

The masses are invested in these characters on a weekly basis, escapism into TBBT world...they don't watch they way we do.....IMHO.

6th anniversary of their first meeting but also the 1st anniversary of the split-up on their fifth. I've been wondering how they would mark it.

Now it all makes sense. Of course some insignificant anniversary fot the Shamy would obviously be more important than any occasion for the rest.

Well like ATOB rightly said, a lot of sheldon plots end up being disguised as potential lenny centric. I wouldn't be suprise if the restaurant was booked for Shamy and Leonard bedroom set is Amy checking it out. While lenny are probably fighting over who's parent side to pick and once again penny doesn't support her husband. Maybe the bedroom set is Leonard growing a pair having had enough of penny atitude and packs Penny's stuff and kicks her out. 😊 happy ending for Shamy. Cliffhanger for lenny. 😲

and frankly, to some of us it was funny! and after all it still IS a comedy...Leonard being startled out of that nightmare with the WTF?! look was hilarious. and in the end, it was not reality just a dream sequence and the status quo is preserved imo...my wife is an unspoiled non-shipper and she howled at that scene

Yeah so is my oldest and when I told her about the kiss, she looked horrified and on the verge of crying.  Once I told her about Leonard waking up suddenly and it dawned on her that it was just a nightmare Leonard had, she rolled on the floor laughing uncontrollably.  

The scene itself didn't bother me and in fact, the only thing I cover my eyes on when watching it (or rather when my kids torcher me with) is when Kaley straightens her leg completely to where it looks like it's trying to bend backwards at the knee.  It sends shivers of pain down my bad knee  and I sit there with my eyes covered yelling at them to hit play (because they've paused it at that point her knees bend backwards) and "let me know when they start kissing" (so I can uncover my eyes).  

They think it's hilarious....

She does it in Shiny Trinket at the jewelry store and in a few other episodes too.  I HATE it when she does that.

Since the writers have no balls to do the correct thing for Lenny as in letting them as a married couple live by themselves --- I can see Lenny living in 4A all the way up to the last episode of TBBT.

Totally agree with all. You know if we were given some kind of hint why penny is always mad at Leonard then that would make sense but nothing. I thought s8 was bad for lenny, but s9 wow. Tptb sure don't care for lenny. Even if we get a great lenny final redo and all, I think the damage has already been done and it wouldn't be too long for tptb revert to angst lenny in S10. Sadly you are right I see the same, lenny will never move out well not for the foreseen future. It will kill the show as Sheldon is not funny unless he is being mean to leonard or someone and he can't be funny living in 4a by himself.

I admit that during the kiss I was like "eeewww" and laughed more because it was weird than funny, but when they cut to Leonard jolting awake I howled, his reaction was what made that scene for me.

I have agree, his cluelessness doesn't make sense anymore, his cruelty and selfishness isn't funny and his acting like a baby has gotten so old, I find him less and less funny each episode.  Like the last episode, Amy was much more interesting and funny in it, I think the other characters are now carrying the Sheldon character and that is why the writers have centered them around Sheldon now.

I started saying this four or five years ago and loads of the original fans left because they turned Sheldon into a freakshow. Yet whenever we said anything here we were shouted down. Now he's is completely gone. He isn’t funny anymore because they took away his dignity away and infantised him. For some reason the writers think this is hilarious and more people than ever are watching him act like a twit every week. I miss the oddball genus that I feel in love with. He was so amazing in the first few seasons, so smart, so alpha, so hot.

What would you do if you had to deal with that looney and his RA, then your wife doesn't even support you, even after all those years of her questioning why he submits to the looney's RA, run around the apartment screaming, get into a huge fight with your wife, maybe run to 4B, no wait Penny did that.

Sheldon stands his ground, as he has done from day one....but he is he the big demanding baby...nope..he is not.  He is basically the same person Leonard met years ago, Sheldon has barely changed....Leonard has...and that is Leonard's problem...not Sheldon's.  He needs to deal with it and not pout on a couch like a baby.

Not really possible. I would never have made it past the first two barriers. If someone tells me I can only use the toilet on a schedule I'd be out. I'm not putting up with a crazy dictator if I have any choice.
