1. Really, then why bother watching when all the episodes are crap?  Also I remember you praising this year's valentines episode.

2.  That's nice, I disagree with your disagreement.

1- Because how are you going to say the episodes are great or crap if you don't watch them first? When Chiany said all episodes were crap he was speaking in retrospect.

2- And I disagree with you disagreeing with JE7's disagreement.

LOL Sheldon's line about Amy being "groped in public by another man" I just got this image in my head of Sheldon looking from the train with his patented "She is not for you!" face. Jelly Shelly is the best! :haha:

Also side note: some have complained that Amy can't do anything without Sheldon...well she got a massage knowing full well she was going to get hell about it. She didn't worry about Sheldon's approval. You go girl!

Although she allowed Sheldon to ride a kiddie train at the mall.  What's worse being groped in public by another man or a man riding around with little kids.

LOL. I will say I can see why Lenny and Howdette fans don't like him.

Ugh Raj (TM) was born of a grasshopper in Penny's living room (definetly not as cool as a radioactive spider bite) and has grown over the years to become what he is today. Peter Parker has not allways been Spiderman and Raj has not allways been a total douchebag

But most people have minimal interest in Raj's love life. This forum would be a lot different with no Shamy.

Yeah but Raj doesn't need a grasshopper to be a total douchebag.

Delsino helped us understand 9.23  The Line Substitution Solution (the penultimate) episode because they showed that at the taping tonight.

Production Journal associated with this episode summary.

First off, thank you very much to those who provide us spoilers!! really appreciate it!!... oh my god!! I don't know what to say.. thank god this season is over!!! 9x23: Really?? Sheldon paid stuart to go shopping with amy because is more important to go to cinema than being with his girlfriend?, it's ok that he wants to do the things he likes or hanging out with his friends!!, but why is so difficult to be honest with her and simply to say: "I don't want to go shopping with you!! is that hard??..I bet Amy would've understood that or at least deal with that!! why does he always (the writers) find a new way to humillate her? I'm ok with they doing separate things but this.. is insulting!!, what is the need to be cruel with her??!! Where is the jealousy man who wasn't capable to see Amy with some other guys?? Where is the man who didn't care to show up at amy's apartment during her date night to say her "I love you"?? Where is the man who said: "the thought of you sitting in a darkened theatre with a character like stuart is repellent" it's not that repellent when you need a favor, huh Shelly??

"the boys are in line and Stuart shows up and yells at Sheldon.  Sheldon is confused, he thought Stuart was okay with shopping with Amy.   Amy paid Stuart to "be her" and yell at Sheldon. Back at Penny's apartment, there is a knock, knock, knock at the door and it is Stuart holding flowers.   Stuart is now Sheldon and says "he's sorry."   Amy pays Bernadette to slam the door in Stuart's face".

I'm glad to read the response from Amy to the consoling prize sheldon offered her in form of an "apologize", too bad she forgot his insult as quickly as always, I'm tired to see all this cr*p towards amy, she deserves better than sheldon...and Beverly impressed with shamy relationship?? seriously? a couple of hours before she was questioning penny about her sex life with leonard right?? I'm wondering if she found out about Shamy sex life and their "once a year" agreement, I'm pretty sure she didn't because otherwise she would've changed her mind inmediately...

And for the 9x24: What a waste of time!! ... I honestly didn't expect something special but all the drama with lenny and shamy we got all the season to end up with a nonsense with the parents instead of trying to solve at least one little problem (put here the problem you want).. Hopefully this gets better when the episodes air but it's doubtful, very doubtful...

The dinner was not a welcome for the parents it was definitely for Penny and Leonard.

Howard was basing his paranoia off of movies he watched like ET and Jurrasic World. Bernie said you know they are not documentaries but Howard said that's all he knows. Raj starts laughing and Howard says do you think it's funny, raj replies no but Jurrassic World was so terrible it was funny.

Raj later looks up the department that sent the email which was the Dept of Acquisitions and said they probably just want to give you money and then Howard thinks maybe it's another country pretending to be the USA

Very good! When they were walking up the stairs Alfred asked Leonard he is happy he found someone so nice and loving and then stopped and said "how did you do that"

When Penny saw Alfred she ran over and gave a hug and said it was nice to see him again

Thanks for the clarifications, I like Leonard's dad, I'm looking forward to the episode to meet him! Where I live, it's kind of customary a day or two before a wedding to have a very small party or dinner for those guests who have travelled for attending the ceremony. I was referring to something like that when I said "welcome" dinner; those parties are still centered around the bride and groom, with toasts for them and everything...What was your impression (and of course of the others who attended the taping...)? Do you think it's possible there's a "secret scene" with the ceremony?

Well here in the U.S. it's customary to have a "rehearsal dinner" after having a dry run of the wedding ceremony at the church a day before the actual ceremony. Whether or not a "do over" has one is something I have no idea about...but a dinner to welcome friends and family who travelled some distance to get there would be nice nonetheless.

Two episodes and the guest stars and their roles might have become more narratively interesting than the main cast combined. I'm glad there's no drama between the couples left as a cliffhanger to debate all summer, at least.

I really enjoyed the first half of this season, although I was aware that there were issues with Lenny and Raj/Emily that were being more or less ignored. The second half of the season has turned into a rather meaningless mess - they introduced Bernie's pregnancy and Raj's love triangle, but I'm not all that interested in the former and downright loathe the latter. Ugh!Raj (TM) is now an official thing.

My concern is that there's a lot implied by the passing of time in which things don't happen, just because the show ignores it. Amy and Sheldon's dynamic has not budged much despite everything they went through, which is a disappointment. Wil's blasé attitude towards Star Wars, meant to mirror Sheldon's blasé attitude to sex, compared to The boys/Amy's intensely rapturous reaction seems to mean what it seemed to mean at the time - nothing about sex or romance has changed for Sheldon. He has no more interest than he ever did, and that's that.

There's something "off" about Leonard and Penny's marriage. Their communication is terrible and I don't see them showing any impetus to build a future; they're fine coasting and make no important decisions together, much less discuss them, which they really haven't since their engagement.

And in general there's a lot of contradictions, inconsistencies, and incoherence as far as plot and characterization. In small doses, individual scenes are funny. The actors are still great, and doing their best. But the material is very stale, and I have no idea where the story is going, if it's going anywhere. Disappointing ending to a season that started with a lot of material to mine - which still has material from past seasons to mine, if the writers want to get around to doing more than scratching the surface, but I get the sense they are far too lazy and overpaid at this point for that.

No idea if I'll tune in for season 10.

I have to agree with a lot of this. I'll probably tune in for Season 10 and I know the age-old question is "then why are you still watching?", but I think for me the show hasn't slid into the "oh god, no" territory, but rather the "meh" one. I mean, it's rarely longer than 18 minutes these days, which as far as time commitment goes means I can watch it in its entirety while folding my laundry, and as Lionne pointed out, the actors are talented and the individual jokes are often still good. However, whatever it had to make it special beyond that also got lost for me by the end of this season because of the lacking continuity and characterisation.

Most of the characters just seem so aimless and ill-defined now. I've been told once that when you write, you should keep your characters short-term (example: I don't want Sheldon to ruin my breakfast with a theoretical nut conflict discussion) and long-term goals (example: I want to marry Penny) in mind. Obviously a 20 minute comedy isn't necessarily plot-driven, but I think that would kind of help here to refocus these characters. What's anyone's goal anymore? What are they working towards? Lenny finally have their endgame and the dreaded Shamy coitus has taken place, but now the writers seem to be treading water in their relationships. There's the science plot, which I like a lot, but can hardly be called anyone's focus as it just pops up here and there when needed. It wasn't like that back in the day. Penny wanted to be an actress, Leonard wanted Penny, Sheldon wanted to crack the secrets of the universe, Howard wanted to get laid, Raj wanted to have a normal relationship with women, Amy wanted to actively explore a part of human nature (interpersonal relationships) she hadn't had a chance to before... that's not Destroy the One Ring level of character motivations, but for a comedy, they were perfectly fine.

It just seems to me that we accidentally shipwrecked against the Hollywood Romance Iceberg, which decrees that when you're paired up and (somewhat) sexually active, you have reached your zenith in life and your story is basically over - but with that kind of ad money, they're not gonna cancel the show, so the story can't be over, so we trudge on without compass and map.

^^^Interesting Gatsbian allusion there A.D.A. You would think we would be Nick Carraway, but it's the opposite, we are Jay Gatsby in our quest of Daisy/TBBT. When it seems it is finally in our grasp, it slips away like so much sand. "So we beat on, boats against the current, borne ceaselessly into the past", of the earlier days of The BigBang Theory. (Sorry, but it's early here. Your 'we trudge on without compass and map' got me going....)

Yeah but Raj doesn't need a grasshopper to be a total douchebag.

I would have some interest if he found 'the one' and the writers used Raj's quirks and endearing qualities in that relationship.

The Sheldon and Bernie scenes look interesting, probably at first Sheldon just talking about Sheldon's interests but from the TR it sounds like at the end of the night she had a good time. Interaction between characters that rarely interact I always find interesting in a particular episode.

Personally, I'd rather see Sheldon and Amy work things out that way, and Sheldon apologizing in the first place (even through Stuart, that Amy had used prior to confront Sheldon in the first place), rather than having another conflict over something trivial going around for dozen episodes (a la break up), or having either of them hold a grudge, even if it were a mere implication.

Yes, Sheldon makes mistakes, but so does Amy, and it's not like she shouldn't work on her attitude towards Sheldon too ("You don't know what I put up with", "No one else would ever put up with him"-can you imagine the fans' reaction if Sheldon were to say something like that to Amy, or Penny to Leonard or the other way around, for example)? Not to mention, Amy did break up with Sheldon for six months, dated three other men... but got back together with him, so Sheldon's behavior may not be as outrageous to her, as some of us (fans) see it. She could have pushed for a better apology this time, she is a grown woman and she already broke up with Sheldon for six months, but she didn't. That wasn't Sheldon's fault. And yes, Sheldon is also a grown-up who should have known some things better, but the same, regarding some aspects, can also be said about Amy, Leonard, Penny, Howard, Bernadette, Ugh-Raj...

Amy may deserve "better Sheldon", but not someone "better than Sheldon" (I know, that doesn't make much sense...) Besides, their relationship has never been a traditional or "romance by the book/numbers" type either, and definitely not relationship designed to eventually progress into one. No relationship will ever be perfect, but I don't see a point in watching (and shipping) a couple on the basis of possibility that they will become what we want them to become, or simply more "traditional", only because it is theoretically possible (though I don't think that must be the way you watch it, I'm referring to posts of similar attitude that can be found on the Internet).

Personally I think 9x23 is a callback to 9x13 in the sense that Amy is still teaching him empathy. Rather than simply go there to read him the riot act, Amy gave him a taste of his own medicine to help him realize "hey, this is what it felt when you did it to me" and then didn't accept Sheldon's "apology" with using Stuart.

This also reminds me of 5x23, Amy knows exactly which buttons to push (which is what I love about her character)

Sure it was an immature thing Sheldon did, but he came to terms that he had done wrong, apologized, and promised not to do it again. Sheldon realized he was at fault.

Their relationship has grown so well that Beverly commented on it. I look forward to this episode.

1. He took down his never trust Steve molaro signature THE SECOND shamy reconciled.  Obviously he couldn't be that unhappy with those episodes, if they managed to get him to do that.

2. I still disagree, also I remember a post from The Bachelor Party Corrosion where you said "I really liked it".

A question for those that went to the taping, what was the relationship like between Leonard and his dad? Frosty? Good? Something in between?

We didn't know much at all just that he was away a lot when Leonard was growing up prior to this episode.

it was good. penny likes him a lot.

far better than with bev.

but leonard stop it.
