[Spoilers] Discussion Topic: Season 9

One of my great hopes for Season 9 is that Sheldon will pick Amy up in his arms and carry her somewhere (preferably the bedroom).  I'd hate to see all that effort that Jim has put into improving his upper body go to waste and, from my own personal observation while waiting in line for an autograph after AN ACT OF GOD, I can assure you, those biceps are bulging! Please, writers! Give Jim a chance to show off his muscles!  I mean, I don't think Leonard, Raj, or Howard will ever be able to lift their women. More likely, it would be the other way around.  What more super hero act is there than carrying a damsel in distress to safety? (or to coital bliss?).

I'm sorry--I LOVE Jim to death and I love the Shamy, but if Sheldon ever picked up Amy to carry her anywhere I think I would throw up.

Jim's biceps notwithstanding, Sheldon is not Jim and isn't supposed to have any real strength--same with the other guys.  They've always been portrayed as slightly wimpy indoorsy types, no matter what the actors are like in real life.

So, no, please, no carrying off of women.

Wow...it looks like a pretty crowded episode. I know that since it will begin just few hours after the finale one should expect that all the stories will get their follow up, but I was hoping more focus on few plots... I don't like very much episodes with more than 3 plots and as a Season Premiere I don't think they are really necessary.

 In your opinion how this fact (if ImdB is right) will effect Lenny supposed wedding? I think if so many stories are to be told, there will be no wedding for them in Vegas, unless all the gang go there with them. So, at least a wedding all by themselves could be ruled out, I guess...

I don't think the episode is going to be any more crowded and usual--and since the characters usually appear in groups to tell whatever stories are being told, I don't think the number of cast members really makes a difference.  They're not divvying up the dialoge with a calculater.

I think that the Lenny and Shamy stories will dominate in one way or another, but that the Rajily and Howardette stories will need to have their conclusions as well, since everyone was left pretty much in the middle of an issue regarding their relationships.

I don't think the gang will go to Vegas, especially since no one but Sheldon knows they're there.  And if they're going to have a "whole gang" wedding, which I assum they will be having, eventually, I don't think it will be this trip to Vegas.

I think they'll decide to postpone for various reasons--a cooling off from whatever anger or disappointment or whatever that Penny is feeling.  Maybe they'll decide to have their honeymoon first, to get back in the right groove, but then they'll go back to Pasadena, or maybe they'll decide they need to work through a few more things before they're really ready to pull the trigger--and then they'll eventually have a wedding involving the whole gang.

I think TPTB are going to want to involve everyone and might still not want to do it until the end of this season or toward the end of next season.  It depends on a lot of things, including how they hope to tell stories with Leonard and Sheldon no longer sharing the big apartment.

Are we in fan fiction? Sheldon could only lift her with a forklift. Coital bliss? Too much exchange of bodily fluids.

Yeah, I'm with Phanta on this one.   This wouldn't ring true for the character(s) at all and I really don't wanna see it from any of the guys unless it is in a humorous failed attempt.

I agree, it will be completely OOC, not only from a "phisical" point of view...I mean, Sheldon picking Amy up in his arm implies two persons which are perfectly confortable with what they're doing, and this is definetely not the case with Shamy. I think we are getting pretty close to coitus, Season 8 was maily about Shamy emotional intimacy, so (hopefully) Season 9 will be focusing also in phisical intimacy. But, whenever it happens, it will be as sweetly ackward as everything about them. Writers up to now were really good in giuding them in developing their realtionship remaining faithful to the characters and their feautures, so I can't imagine they fail just in describing that moment.

Yes it was about her dandruff...but it was also fairly early in their new relationship as boyfriend/girlfriend.   He was starting to develop stronger feelings for her.   But now I would hope that his fantasies are quite different and a bit more "normal"...but with his own unique twist.

S8 finalie just aired over here this week, I am caught up! haha. We well get s9 next April yes! Got to say saw the whole Leonard cheating going down very differently. Expected drama and angst. Penny seemed very understanding, I don't know maybe its a sign of how matured she is these days. I doubt they well get married in Vegas, it seems like a stall to me. I don't think Lenny need a big wedding at this point, their relationship is the highlight not a one off wedding. As for Shamy I have no idea where they are heading with them, to be honest I have lost the ability to give a damn haha sorry.

Haha maybe, but at least their is some kinda guarentee their, seeing they are engaged. With Shamy it is like 100 steps forwards, 1000 steps backwards. So I guess I was just confused at a break after 5 years. IS Sheldon really that clueless, or does he just choose to be.
