You really think a couple's insecurity goes away JUST BECAUSE they've been together for a long time? :icon_rolleyes:  I've had my parents fight countless times during my childhood, some of it was due to one insecurity or another.  Still having insecurities after knowing each other for a long time is HIGHLY believable, ask any marriage counselor.

Yes...

I don't know your parents...so don't care....

aww poor sheldon (but yay he deserves it, lol) I agree, i think the tickets mean that's where he was going to ask her... or something related to that.

and if i have to be 100% honest -even with myself- i'd like to watch the scene just because of my platonic crush on Jim LOL

Also, talking about Leonard and this dream he has... poor thing Leonard! he pretty much resembles the Leonard in s2 (i think it was) that was going out with Penny for the first time, so nervous and insecure... what happened to s7 Leonard? he seemed so much grounded back then... maybe i'm wrong, but that's how i see it from what i'm reading...

Aaaand, last but not least, and this is my being selfish, i hope the writers don't neglect Sheldon's career crisis and resolve that too. mixing a little between the relationships the comedy and the science. don't think i'm asking too much lol

Yes...

Then I think you have a shallow grasp on what potential problems can surface/resurface in long term couple's relationships, and what they do or don't keep bottled up inside themselves and why they might do it.

[...]

Sad to say no she wasn't too happy.  And just got more mad as the episode went on.  But do you blame her.  He was "sweetly" annoying the hell out of her.

I want to punch him but also can't help and find this adorable. lol

Thanks for the details!

honestly a little bit, but not much.  She was getting pestered and just got more angry and more angry.  When he came by the door and didn't do his triple knock she questioned it and he said something like "you don't get to enjoy my cute idiosyncrasies".  She asked what was in the box, he explained its social convention to do this, she wants to just take it and shut the door, he asks her to look through it.  She pulls out the scarf, and for the only soft moment on Amy's side she says "my scarf" he says from when they went ice skating together, then she firms up and goes back to more coldness saying "when you stayed on the sides telling me about hypothermia", and he sweetly says "we made a great team".  Then she pulls out the bra, looks like "really", and he goes into this cheesy lie like he is getting around and Amy says its Pennys, to which he says "you don't get to know whos breasts I'm rolling around like pizza dough".  She takes the box, and slams the door, to which he triple knocks with the Amy, Amy, Amy softly on the side table in the hall.

Thank you :)

Oh boy , I really hope we get to see a change soon and a nod in the direction of missing each other and missing each other for who they love !.

Surely they need to turn it round soon ........ She says hopefully !!

It's really easy to say stuff with social media that you would never say to some one face to face.

I hope so! I think that the writers want to show us this possible new side of Sheldon... what I just don't understand is why they decided to do this kind of thing now and not when Shamy were not so "real" as a couple... season 8 has been a dream and now the situasition seems to regress... I'm positive but I'm also afraid...

I don't know.  Maybe this was a Swan Song to the Shenny shippers.    If you ask me, at the risk of angering Shamy fans, the way this was done was brilliance on the writers' part.

With Sheldon being officially single now and Leonard having cheated on Penny and in the doghouse, but yet already married, perhaps this was the best time to throw in the shock-value via a fictional dream setting that neither damages or adds to the the reality that is Lenny or Shamy.

I am kind of conflicted on how I feel about this.   One part of me believes this is a betrayal of Shamy and is disappointed, but having read that Jim is kissing Penny as himself and not as Sheldon, I am kind of interested in how this plays out on screen.

Given that Leonard has described Sheldon kissing Amy as nothing to write home about, obviously his subconscious based the dream images off of imagination, leaving out the essence of Sheldon.    In other words, it is Sheldon's body that he sees in the dream, but it is not really Sheldon doing the kissing.     Thinking about it in this way makes the pill easier for me to swallow.

I also agree that this is foreshadowing of things to come....

Interesting how in earlier seasons, we saw Amy saying being all enamored with Sheldon while Sheldon didn't really express it much, and now it's almost like a reverse of that.

I don't understand what is meant by the portion made bold.  How can Jim feel that he is kissing Penny?  That would be troubling as he (Jim) is in a relationship.  In this scene the feelings of Jim or Sheldon or Kaley or Penny, or Johnny for that matter, should not come into play at all.  This is Leonard's dream/nightmare.  The only feelings about the kiss that matter (be it a passionate embrace, a peck on the cheek---whatever) are Leonard's.  One additional thing it is not, is a betrayal of Shamy.  It really has nothing to do with Sheldon or Amy.  Perhaps Shamy fans have a downtrodden feeling in that a similar passionate kiss has not been seen for their favorites, but a betrayal?  (and not to foist my opinion on anyone---just another p.o.v. and my lack of understanding this train of thought.)

He is kissing Penny by "acting" in character as himself in the dream, rather than as Sheldon.  I didn't mean real life.

It is because it is Leonard's dream that what appears to be "Sheldon" is not really Sheldon, which explains why the kiss is OOC.

Still don't understand.  He is not "acting" in the dream.  Leonard is having a dream about his wife kissing his roommate.  Sheldon kissing Penny.  There is no Jim.  There is no Kaley.  It is Leonard's imagination.....No bearing on Sheldon's relationship with Amy....

Bill has reassured us we can share Spoilers, Script covers, Episodes titles, etc,.post whatever you want online — rumors, taping reports, spoilers, opinion, rants, raves, etc.

Just don’t tweet complaints about things that haven’t aired to him. The way things read online on a blog is very different.

Sorry to go on and on, but in that kiss, there is also no Sheldon and no Penny.  This is all inside Leonard's head and imagination and dream/nightmare life.  We have to wait to see the episode, but this is more a plot device for Leonard to put to rest both his insecurities about "deserving" Penny and maybe as a springboard to speak to Mandy.....

Oh I can't help but to feel sad for Sheldon. I think he genuinely doesn't get it.

I used that expression too, maybe I misspelled,  you are right, by assigning the kiss to Jim himself. What I really meant by  was that, as far as we were told, that kiss was so OOC for Sheldon (due to the "hotness" of it, not to the fact that Sheldon was kissing Penny) that it looked like that JP was acting another character, not Sheldon.

I am referring to the acting to create the dream sequence, not actual acting in the dream on screen.    From the bits and pieces provided by those who attended the Taping, they say that Jim was not acting as Sheldon for the kiss.   He remained himself, perhaps as I already mentioned, so that even though it is Sheldon we see on screen, Leonard is seeing him kiss Penny as he or another man would, not as Sheldon would.

As for the bearing on Shamy, you are correct that there is none.

JP was acting the part of Leonard's "dream" of Sheldon kissing a "dream" of his wife, Penny.  So, in that I will concede that JP was acting a "different" Sheldon.

I think we are on the same page now.   Sorry for the confusion.
