Shamy break up getting dragged on even more.

Amy's mother turning out to be borderline abusive (really, did we need  a third horrible mother on the show?)
Amy getting locked in a closet again, which must have been traumatic for her while growing up, and that probably being played for laughs (similar to Leonard's story in "The Raiders Minimization", that I also disliked).
Penny probably getting drunk again (judging by her conversation with Amy's mother).
Leonard's bachelor party being diminished for the sake of a lazy comedy situations (wasn't a wedding bad enough)?
Four brilliant scientists having a subplot where they can't figure out how to change a car tyre.

I don't see anything wrong with it at all. It seems like a fun episode that would be liked by most viewers who tune in for laughs.

Thank you Trina for all the info! Glad you got a good episode.

It was a bit alarming at first, but once we got further detail, it became much more clear that this was actually a pretty interesting and entertaining episode.   I think the general viewer will enjoy it, and it is a nice deviation from the first two which were a bit more "heavy" in nature.

We're out. Very funny and light hearted episode.

-Episode is called the Bachelor Party Corrosion.

-Separate girls and guys plots.

-Girls at Penny's doing a mini bachelorette party. Amy makes penis shaped cookies (anatomically correct. She uses gummy worms as veins lol). They pierce Amy's ears, Penny tells her Dad she married Leonard, Amy tells her Mom she broke up with Sheldon.

-Guys kidnap Leonard and take him to Mexico for bachelor weekend. In some physicists van so that gets Sheldon somewhat on board. They get a flat and try to replace the tire. A hilarious lee-ver vs leh-var discussion ensues. They can't get one lug nut off. They try various scientific principles to get the one nut off and end up burning up the van.

They showed us the premiere episode so I didn't see episode 2. There was no added scene with Sheldon's Mom in there, so still not sure where they'll add that one. I'll be in chat in awhile to answer questions and I'll write up a summary. :-)

Shamy breakup will play out for a while, but it will play out. Why expect otherwise? I hope she had a book in the closet. Penny drinking; it is possible, we don't know, and she may have just been impetuous. Leonard is used to it, he never gets a party that's a success - that seems to be a rule - and if the wheel nuts had been tightened with an air wrench they probably needed a metre long extension on the tire lev-ah. :) Or a blow torch to expand the nut.

I totally get your annoyance. Frankly, I can agree with most points on this list. The only thing is that once Shamy's "break" wasn't dealt in the premiere, it was a given it would be dragged out until the next batch of sweeps episodes. They wouldn't use up the reconciliation in a random episode and November sweeps is the first realistic opportunity they will have to fix it. I think if it gets dragged on past November then I'm out as well. But so far this is all still on target to make *some* sense (although I do think it was unnecessary and a plot device and blah blah blah. I've ranted enough about it).

Not really, because she broke up with him by blowing up in his face because he was rude and wouldn't leave her alone. Then she went into the kitchen and was immediately conflicted about her decision. And in ep2, again, Sheldon's all up in her face, so, reasonably, she's pushing back. But making a rational decision in a cool moment about doing something as definite as changing her FB status or telling her mom to me indicates she's decided she made the right choice. What I love about all this is that Amy has literally not taken ONE decision when it comes to breaking up with Sheldon that wasn't pushed by others: she breaks up with him because he's stalking her, she changes her FB status because Bernadette calls her out on it (and she doesn't actually change it in the end), and it's Penny who tells her mother. This is all fine and dandy with me. Thumbs up!

My heart was plummeting when I read about Amy changing her FB status and telling her Mom, thinking she was accepting the break up.   Thank you point out the little detail that she is being pushed into these things rather than doing it on her own.   Maybe going through the realism of what a break up really means and not just "saying it" will get her to thinking this is not what she really wants.

I love the fact she got her ears pierced.   Maybe she will come out of her closet a little more, but I hope not so much that she loses Sheldon's attraction.  Then again, maybe it makes her more attractive and irresistible.   Remember, he doesn't like her wearing lip gloss because it makes her lips look too slippery.

The more I read about the last 3 episodes the more tired I feel. I feel like I've watched this before in some other comedy show and it's really boring having to witness this on TBBT as well. Unless they come up with some spectacular and unique way for this break up to end (or even to stay that way), I don't think I'm going to enjoy this ride so much.

It just makes sense to me that Amy would be conflicted. Sheldon had become really impossible even for Amy.

Impossible is a very very strong word here.   Frustrating is more appropriate.   Amy does understand Sheldon more than anyone.   As such, I think she is stronger when dealing with Sheldon than she gets credit for.   Sheldon has taken some liberties in his inappropriate comments toward her recently, and she has a right to be angry.  However, deep down inside, I think a small part of her admires his ingeniousness use of persuasion.   It is what makes him Sheldon and part of what she fell in love with.

ER... Penny telling Amy's mother that Shamy is broken up? Is it me or Penny is pushing for a permanent break up? It makes me really sad.

I can actually see Penny being the one to try to push Amy into dating someone else.    I believe that Penny is a Shamy shipper, but if Amy is not happy with Sheldon and has indeed broken up with him, then she thinks Amy should move on.   That is just Penny.   It is not the first time she has suggested this.

That part I found a bit out of character and confusing as well.   Penny has always been a huge Shamy-shipper.  So why she insisted Amy tell her mother (who she is NOT close to and she knew her mother was not exactly "nice" at times) and when Amy hemmed and hawed...she took the phone and did it...I just don't understand Penny's rationale for that.

From what I have read, it is my understanding that Penny made Amy tell her mother, because Amy made Penny tell her Dad about the wedding or something.   Also, maybe Penny is pushing Amy to stop sitting on her laurels about the break up and get on with it.

Agreed. The whole thing is just so tiring and out of character, and, the worst of all, unfunny. I though that the writers have moved on from that off again/on again crap since season five or that they will at least manage to keep everything in character and write some humor into it.

I agree.  It seems to me that Amy and Penny are both acting very much IC, and I think Penny's pushing could become a key to Shamy reconciliation because she is forcing Amy to have to come to terms with her decision.   Seeing her reluctance to do all this is a big revealer of where she is at with all this.     She doesn't really want it.    I think we might see Amy beginning to back track.   Let's hope.

Sheldon is going to have a hemorrhage when he sees Amy's FB status.   I am sure Amy does not want to hurt him in this way, and this will hurt for sure.

We didn't see or hear Amy's Mom. But we do learn more about their relationship through the girl's conversations.

Unfortunately no shot of the cookies, but the whole scene was too funny. They were Jewish & gentile cookies because Amy had extra dough lol.

Trina.   That you so much for sharing the information.   You made my morning!   Sounds like a very fun episode and a legitimate reason for no Shamy interaction with the boys/girls doing their own thing.   Glad to see Penny is soooo happy to be married to Leonard.

I'm also hoping that Penny's pushing could help Shamy reconcile. I have always believed her to be the biggest Shamy shipper on the show and it saddens me to see her not encourage Amy to get back with Sheldon. I am however holding out on the hope that Penny knows what she's doing and will be the happiest person on the show when she sees Shamy together again.

If I'm understanding the info we got, I don't think Amy went thru with changing her FB status.  But for those that went to the taping, correct me if I'm wrong.

For all those people who are dissatisfied with the way season nine premiere will turn out, and there are many, my advice is: either don't watch it, or TiVo it and watch it later, not on the day it premieres. Maybe that will knock some sense into the writers.

I agree don't watch it but I don't think it will knock sense into the writers. They have a story they want to tell and they will tell it. They are signed for two years. I for one have to see things play out on tv before I judge. I have to say I agree with Bill Prady on this one. What you read is not always what you see on TV. But this is my opinion and I respect everyone on here that won't watch because you don't like what you have read. This new episode sounds light hearted after two very drama filled episodes and I remember last week people asking if this was a comedy. I can totally see the guys not knowing how to,change a tire on a car. Should they probably but who would have taught them? It's not something that everyone knows how to do. I will watch and if it is silly or ridiculous so be it. I will still watch because I trust the writers. They can't have a great episode every week. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Penny is not going to encourage Amy to get back with Sheldon if she doesn't think Amy is getting what she needs out of the relationship   If Shamy can work it out, Penny will be cheering on the sidelines, but in the meantime she is going to encourage Amy to take advantage of her current status.

We all know that sex is very important to Penny.   In her mind, there is something wrong with a relationship where sex is not present.  She has Sheldon convinced he lost Amy because he hasn't put out.     She is pushing Amy into a direction of opportunity here.    I don't think she means any harm by it, she is just trying to guide Amy on what she thinks is wrong with their relationship and pushing her toward a resolution based on her conclusions.

This is JMO, and I concede that I could be extremely far-fetched in my thinking here.

I can foresee some possible tension between Sheldon and Penny over all of this and Leonard being caught in the middle.

i agree it's sad and she has been a hige Shamy shipper, but Penny has also pushed Amy a lot when it comes to Sheldon. In Flaming Spitoon Penny was the one who said "you don't have a boyfriend, you have a Sheldon" and pushed her to date Stuart. Then in The Weekend Vortex she's the one who pushed Amy to stand up for herself to Sheldon and make a scene. I don't it surprising in the least that she pushed Amy to move on and tell her mom.

Does it sadden me? Yes. Do I like it? No. But do I think Penny's out of character? No.

agree 100%.  When I read the info I immediately thought of Flaming Spittoon.  In Penny's world, there are ways to make a man jealous.  And based off Weekend Vortex & Flaming Spittoon she was right.  It did get Sheldon to wake up and see the light.

Side note.  We are members of a fandom and by no way the general public viewers.  So those who say "don't watch, show the writers that the fans are unhappy"...are sadly not going to matter.  BBT will still get huge numbers, is still a crowd favorite, is heading into Nov against less competition than previously.  The show will be fine.  Every year, every TR, every spoiler people say "not watching anymore, boycotting, etc".  Wish we had more of a voice, but honestly general public aren't going to be so "outraged" by the last few episodes to stop watching.  JMO
