Yeah looking through windows and prostitutes wasn't really my cup of tea and the ending felt like it was trying too hard but I guess it paid Jim's bills lol! Yeah but I guess it was the spirit of the movie :D along with snorting cocaine all the time. No I just checked, it was produced by Di Caprio. Jim also said he'd like to play a bad guy again even if he did it in the past, in a play (I don't know which play). Personally I'd really like to see him play an evil character! 10 minutes ago, 3ku11 said: Wolf of wall street? . Oh.finnalyI LeoI won the Oscar! Jims a good actor clearly. What's eating Gilbert Grape should have got him ALL of the awards! Amazing. The other nominations? not so much. Jim as a bad guy would be good, I'd like to see Kaley play someone super intelligent, Johnny play a really strong guy, Mayim playing someone thick ... roles really different from what they've done on TBBT I've never seen Kaley in anything else, I love her but not enough to sit through a movie with both Josh Gad and Kevin Heart in it! The only things I've seen Johnny in are Roseanne (David was pretty much Leonard junior) and 'In Time', which he didn't have that big of a role in (and it was a pretty crappy movie) so something different and larger roles for both of them would be great to see, they both have new projects coming up that I'll try and see if they are released here. Looking forward to the Bronze movie with Melissa and Simon's new movie with Meryl Streep to see them in different roles Apart from the Trolls movie I'm not sure if Kunal has anything coming up? I hope so cus he didn't work much before TBBT and it would be a shame if he got typecast as the douche bag from that sitcom

They are my favorites, with Jim. Totally agree about Gilbert Grape. But his role in The departed was so underrated as well. I never saw the American version of the Departed but if it's anywhere near as good as the original then I'm sure that is correct

She still can be the next Aniston, or much, much better than that. Kaley'll do great. Next Aniston hell. Kaley Cuco has more talent in her eyelashes than Aniston has in her whole face. I think she should be making films like Goldie Hawn did at her sortt of age. Watch "There's a Girl in my Soup" - don't you see Penny? Judith Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 58 minutes ago, JE7 said: TV shows are written to entertain the masses and turn a profit so yes the show has mainstreamed the charectors and dialog if you feel the need to lament this basic truth then feel free as you have an excellent way with words but hold on to the eulogy because the show is far from dead and is in fact quite healthy by the criteria it is judged by ratings and revenue, the casuals In their millions continue to tune in every week and that IS the bottom line Analyzing the writers mental issues may be fun but did you ever consider that they simply write what sells? That is after all their job and judging TBBT as a TV sitcom they are doing it quite successfully I assume the last paragraph is for me. Yes, their first priority is to write what sells, but that doesn't negate what I wrote. We live in a patriarchal society where preconceived notions about women run rampant (from what personalities we are supposed to have to how we are supposed to interact with others to everything under the sun), and these preconceived notions permeate every aspect of our lives. Even TV. Also, TPTB aren't just money-making machines out to make a quick buck. They are people who have been born in the same patriarchal society most of us have and have been influenced (and benefitted in the case of men) by it. Which means that it's natural to carry this in their writing. This goes up to a certain point for the female writers, too. Even though we are the victims of sexism (by extention, men are too, just a liiittle bit but most don't realize it) it's hard to live in a society that is so overwhemingly against you, so you learn to cope and sometimes unfortunately you get sucked in by the brainwashing, because you're only human. Also, one more thing: saying that it's just the writers' way of trying to sell when these are vrery real issues that you can find everywhere on TV (treatment of everything women-related) is just careless dismissal. hokie3457 Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 From the website of The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism and an article by Aaron M. White, Ph.D. "Alcohol primarily interferes with the ability to form new long–term memories, leaving intact previously established long–term memories and the ability to keep new information active in memory for brief periods. As the amount of alcohol consumed increases, so does the magnitude of the memory impairments. Large amounts of alcohol, particularly if consumed rapidly, can produce partial (i.e., fragmentary) or complete (i.e., en bloc) blackouts, which are periods of memory loss for events that transpired while a person was drinking. Blackouts are much more common among social drinkers—including college drinkers—than was previously assumed, and have been found to encompass events ranging from conversations to intercourse.
