How is first hand experience any less determining that corroborating sources? I would think that actually experiencing something is the best source of knowledge.

Multiple sources are more credible than one person claiming something on this forum. That's all I have to say about that.

I disagree. First hand experience trumps everything else, IMO.

Of course it is because you refuse to be wrong. If you saw something happen right in front of you that showed you were mistaken about something you would simply ignore it and say it never happened so your delusion of infallibility could continue. Honestly it is kinda sad to watch

How far out of the ordinary can an election campaign get before there are comments even in a sitcom? I guess it is safer to ignore but it is hard to imagine people not talking some politics with friends.

edit

There has got to be some pun about the elephant in the room.

If you can prove me wrong, prove me wrong. Otherwise you have one poster's word against multiple sources claiming otherwise, and a different poster on this forum who worked as a cop, hence also having a real life experience, and also claims otherwise. Why would tonstar's claim hold more merit?

What you have is a bunch of posters saying what it must be like while one poster went through it, actually experienced it, several times by his own admission. So... wanted to be proved wrong? There. Done.

Again, by that logic, another poster, who has also had a personal experience in that area, disagreed with tonstar. Do you just ignore that or have some reason to give more merit to tonstar?

On reflection, where does "hijacking a plane flown out of recently volatile part of the world in order to throw a 4 page love letter to your decades-lost love onto the tarmac of a forgotten corner of a Cypriot airfield" falls between the boundaries of 'the most romantic thing ever' and 'creepy as fuck.

If the annulment hadn't gone through, Lenny wouldn't have been able to marry since Penny would have still been in a married status and bigamy is illegal.

They don't do a background check before issuing a marriage license they take your word that your single when you apply

In 9x09 Leonard said his birthday is on May 8...

I just got done rewatching the episode, he didn't say the birthday was on the 8th.  All that they sufficiently confirmed was that the birthday was in May.

Though come to think of it, Lenny did have something else happen in May.  (May 2nd I believe)  That joke could be read as Penny mixing up his birth date with their wedding date.

Regarding the Penny/Zack thing. I don't know the situation in the US. But is the responsible authority not issuing at least a confirmation of the annulment? In this case one for Penny and Zack. Something for your records.

Over here you get a piece of paper for literally anything, especially from authorities.

That's true here to but since when have TPTB let reality interfere with what they want to do

You're right.  They could have never got a license. Thanks. See logic beats emotion every time. Guess I just think the worst, given how TPTB like to screw with Lenny.

Yes they could they don't run any kind of background/records check before issuing a marriage license, bigamy happens everyday and if what you say were true it never could happen at all

Ok, I guess I don't know the law very well. Made sense that they would do background checks, since it's a legal document. I admit I really don't know. I am just disgusted with the present state of the show, like you.

So in addition to being bitchy and mean, Penny holds a grudge? Greeaat. Especially in that episode Penny's response to Leonard's manipulation (baited and eager for sex, he's pantless, only to have his love turn the computer so Leonard is now facing his mother and while being psychologically dissected) was thermonuclear as well as being thoroughly humiliating and totally emasculating. After that, I'm surprised his dick still works. Yeah. I can really see why she wants to 'call him out' on his comments.

Okay, what would your response to being played/tricked/manipulated/conned (pick your favourite verb) into having sex with someone be? Tinkling laughter? An "oh you!" And only finding out you've been played/tricked/manipulated/conned because the person playing/tricking/manipulating/conning you bragged about it to his friend, who told his wife, who was rightfully disgusted and who told you in order that you should no longer be played/tricked/manipulated/conned into having sex with this person.

I think he got off lightly.  If it was me being played/tricked/manipulated/conned then, trust me, that fella's dick would defo not be working for a while!

Incidentally, what do you think of these cases where girls have dressed as boys to trick other girls (who are not gay/bi) into having sex with them?

Personally I think it's not okay to trick someone into having sex with you. How 'bout you?

TBH, I find it beyond belief.

How can you honestly not tell the difference, between a real life penis, and a silicone one huh.gif

Depends how experienced you are I suppose.....dunno really. Sadly, it speaks to me of the female passivity that is endemic in a generation raised with easily accessible porn, where sex is often depicted as something that is done 'to' women rather than done "with". Feel very sad for generation Y in general.
