I'm from Buenos Aires, Argentina

Conversation I had with someone when I was living in Chicago:

Person: You have an accent like you're from Texas.

Me: Well, no, I'm from Argentina

Person: Where is that?

Me: In South America

Person: Well, sweetie, Texas in the south of America

Me:....

Person: So, you're from Texas then

Me:....

Me:... Yes.

(I really didn't want to make the person feel like an idiot)

:icon_lol:

People can never locate where my english accent is from. Most of the times I was asked if I was Canadian. Weird thing, I cannot distinguish Canadian from American accent.. unless it is from South Carolina, or Texas, etc.

My looks don't help either. I have German, French, Lebanese, Native American, Italian and Spanish blood. I'm a hard one to label,

I am from Argentina too, from Buenos Aires to be exact, but have been living in the US for a long time.

Surrey BC Canada.

I'm rather surprised the pole shows more from Europe than the US. Does that reflect the actual proportions or are forum members in the US less inclined to respond?

After about ten years in Berlin I’m living in a small town near Frankfurt/Main quite in the middle of Germany.

I have never stopped in Frankfurt, but I have passed through on vacation and on business trip several times.

Nor me, but I have stayed in Berlin.

It's an amazing City.

Haven't been there either, just passed outside of Berlin on the autobahn.
