Dannii Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 I heard back from Steve, I didn't see a ticket for the second name materialize but apparently they have received one - so both are good. Which means. I have generated a guaranteed ticket each try. Back to legend- status :D :D :D

happykitty Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 (edited) Are Audiences Unlimited getting rid of Standby tickets? I noticed they did not release any for 10/6 and they also updated their rules.Or....they might just be releasing them on a different day now. New rules say:STANDBY TICKETS: Sometime (possibly on a random day) after the allotment of priority admission tickets has been distributed for each show date, we will then post and release a limited number of STANDBY tickets for the same show date. Standby ticket holders will be issued line numbers at check in and admitted accordingly on a first-come, first-served, basis as space allows once the production company’s guests and priority ticket holders (who checked in on time) are admitted. Pages will have a name list at check in of all priority and standby ticket holders. Although we are usually able to admit at least 40 guests with standby tickets, the number of available seats varies and we may not know until approximately 30 minutes prior to show time how many may be open. Admission is not guaranteed. Edited September 9, 2015 by happykitty

I will see what happens on the next ticket day but this is interesting. I am also stunned they are putting a number out there like 30. That seems risky Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

IllinoisBBTfan Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 Hi everyone,I am a new member, but I've been actively following this forum for the past two years.Last week, I tried to snag tickets for the Sept. 29 taping. I was especially hopeful since it was my wedding anniversary and I wanted to surprise my husband, a fellow BBT fan. I got one guaranteed ticket and one standby ticket. Luckily, I contacted TV Tickets to request to be bumped . Steve from TV Tickets responded with the below message: "We reserve a very limited number of priority tickets to assist with situations such as this where there may be one person in the party with a 'standby' ticket. Meg has been transfered to the priority ticket/check in list and may check in with photo ID by 5pm. A revised, printed ticket is not required. Tickets are NOT TRANSFERABLE."Do you think I'm good to go now? I'm a little nervous because my ticket still says "STANDBY". We live in Illinois, and I'd hate to fly to LA to learn I couldn't get in! Thanks in advance! Meg

They're very used to that. As long as your name is on their list, and you have the ID to prove who you are, that's all you need. Tomasina Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 I really, really want to go to the 200th episode, but I will probably at least be going to the first taping in November. And since I shed Shamy fairy dust the way Amy sheds dandruff, we may see them getting back together then. Ask anyone. My shamy taping record is pristine. ReneeS Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Hi!This week I was able to go to the taping with my parents and my sister thanks to a couple of awesome people on this forum!!! We got great seats on the aisle in the center in front of Sheldon's apartments. I had no idea that they tape each scene twice, which was really cool. I have a question for you experts. For 3 the scenes they filmed a third time, but changed one of the lines. I'm curious if that was something already planned or if they thought the original one was a flop so they came up with something new. They only filmed the the one with the new line once. In all three cases to me the second line seem much funnier. I'm curious, which will air.
vonmar Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 (edited) They almost always tape a scene at least twice to make sure they have all the best shots they need when they go to editing. The also re-write on the spot, this can be because they (director, producers, writers) didn't like the way it sounded or because they didn't get the audience reaction they were expecting (not enough laughs, not enough emotion, a sense of unease - maybe something an actor did came across as too harsh, etc). They choose the scene that will air in editing which is done later, so there is no way of knowing what they will choose.Glad you got to have the experience! I'm curious, which will air.Glad you had a good time with your family! As von said, they like to tape scenes a few times just to make sure they have all the camera angles they need to edit the scenes together. Sometimes they need to move the cameras around and into the shot to get the right angles, so they have to do it more than once.As for rewriting jokes and which one gets to air, it will typically be whatever the last one they filmed was, only because there was probably a reason they re-wrote it and so they will typically prefer their last take. However, sometimes they can rewrite a joke or dialogue, film it, and then realize they preferred it the first way. However, my experience has typically been that the final take they did is the one they go with. The director and writers will give notes to the script supervisor as to which take they preferred as it's happening, and then those notes will go to the editors when they're making the final cut for the episode, so they know what the director and writers preferred at the time of filming. Tripper Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 This is very off-topic but it's something that I remember about sitcom writers reworking lines on the spot. There was a behind-the-scenes documentary on Friends which covered episode 601, "The One After Vegas", where Ross & Rachel had just got married while drunk in Vegas. On the documentary, they showed Rachel say a line like "Ross, will you stop calling this a marriage." It didn't really get a laugh. So the writers huddled around and threw out suggestions. One of the writers gave the line they'd finally use, which I think ended up being the funniest line in the episode. "Ross, this is not a marriage. This is the world's worst hangover!" I just googled that line and it seems a review for the episode at the time mentioned that as the best line. It's really impressive how writers manage to think up better lines on the spot as the taping is happening.
