Episode 3.17 (March 8)

CBS has announced the details of episode 3.17, "The Precious Fragmentation", which will air March 8th.

"The Precious Fragmentation" - When the guys find a ring from "The Lord of the Rings" at a garage sale, it threatens to tear them apart, on THE BIG BANG THEORY, Monday, March 8 (9:31-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Awesome episode overall, you know! As always! But very awesome!

Also, I'm kinda sensing a break up soon. ''Going back to date dumb guys at the gym'', or something like that, she said at the end, you know? You think she means that?

I mean, I don't think they would ever end together forever (althought why not?), but at least I'm hoping for a nice and kind break up where they decite to still be the best of friends and they still hang out together althought it's always extremely awkward! That would be best for next season, right?

Yeah I second that. Penny's mostly ranting and raving and threatening to do things she won't do so she can let some steam off, just like we all do now and then.

Also, since nobody mentionned this, this is one of the rare episodes where there's only one story. Usually, you have what I call the classic sitcom recipee with 2 little stories taking place at the same time. This is a known trick to make the show more "complete", so that when you remember it, there seems to be some action.

Here, it's only one story and rather simple. Involving the gang to be together almost all trhu the episode.

As for the nerdiness of the episode, I wouldn't go as far as some did. LOTR *used to be* a nerdy thing... until Peter Jackson made it a multi-million blockbuster.

[ edit : By the way, Sheldon says "it's the language of Mordor written in elvish script". It is true that tengwar (the "language" the quote is written in) was created by an elf but it's an "elvish script" only because it's a script created by an elf so you shall not be confused by what sheldon says. In a few words, it's as if something was written in esperanto and someone said it's a polish script (for esperanto's been invented by a polish). ]

It's funny to see how, for instance, science nerds find this episode not nerdy at all.

Yeah, I guess you're right about Penny! It's just she seemed more ''upset'' about all his nerdiness than usual (like, for instance, when they arrive at the appartment with the box instead of food, or when he gives her ''her first jewelry'' , along with that ending, too!)

I really loved that episode!!! My favorite line (I'm paraphrasing) is when Sheldon said he should have absorbed his sister in the womb and now she'd be nothing but a mole with hair on it.

oh the first jewelry and it comes from a garage sale and she doesn't even get to keep it :D That was a really good line.

By the way, although this line made me crack up with its harshness : I have a twin sister whose assaults began in utero. If only I'd had the presence of mind to reabsorb her, then I'd have a mole with hair in it instead of a tedious yearly Christmas letter.

I don't understand how a double phD may think that with non identical /dizygotic twins (the case here since there's a girl and a boy) reabsorption could be possible (I think that what he means by reabsorbing her is the fact she would only have developped as a mole or an undistinguishable part of him). The writers have been offroading here.

It was great!!!! they even quoted the LOTR about the ring, I knew it they had to quote it, and the punch, it has been a long time since I crack a laugh, now I love penny even more than before, I even said "finally!" well I said: "por fin!" since I'm mexican but the translation is mostly the same lol :D

Also, I was saying to leonard to let go the ring in the hallway, "let it go, let it go" and when he did I was: "yeah!! that's the good choice" lol.

Still, I now saw a glimpse of the reason why penny and leonard would brakeup, I was thinking since the beginning of the season what reason could it be since penny likes leonard and him is not the cheating type, so, what reason could it be? but at the end I saw the possibility penny at some point will have enough, the glass of her tolerance might be filling and at one moment....but that's for future episodes to see.

Great episode, I really liked it but the punch was the best and also "that's my girl" jajajaja.

Hey you're right!. I almost forgot about how she punched Howard. He punches to Howard and Sheldon were pretty strong, with their faces swollen. That only leaves Leonard and Raj. It would be funny if the writers do make her punch every guy for the whole duration of the show.
