One thing I hope they explain is how Leonard, who up until the last episode was always 100% devoted to Penny, who saw her as perfect and The One, etc., allowed himself under any circumstances to hook up with another woman. She's the only woman he ever loved, Leonard generally acts with a great deal of integrity, his loyalty thus far has been unblemished- how would he ever kiss another person? So bizarre how they bring this back two years later, with a new character no less.

What about in Good Guy Fluctuation?  He was dating Priya (long distance, at this point), and even went so far as to tell Penny that he and Priya were in love and that he thought they might get married some day, at the VERY SAME TIME that he was asking Penny if it would be okay for him to sleep with that Alice girl from the comic book store.

I think he's always been loyal to Penny in a long-term way, but that hasn't kept him from sleeping with all kinds of women while they were apart, even going to far as to contemplate moving to India to be with Priya.

I'm not saying that he was thinking of having an affair with the Boat Girl, but that being drunk and kind of full of self-confidence in that moment led him to let his guard down with that girl.  And he didn't "hook up" with this girl.  It was a drunken kiss.  I picture it being almost like a New Year's Eve kiss, where people are all excited and a bit drunk and you find yourself pulled into an unexpected kiss--and then he stopped it.  He didn't go on some kind of mission to kiss this girl, as far as we know, going by his description.  It doesn't seem to have been premeditated, as his attempt with Alice so obviously was.

Even then, he was saying he was not that kind of guy, and yet he went to her place with the intention of sleeping with her.  His conscious stopped him from going for the sex, but he clearly wanted to stay there and keep kissing her.

I don't think it was the same situation on the ship, but I do think that a slip-up like that is not entirely unprecedented for him.

Is there no longer voting options for what we thought of the episode?

Sorry, I completely forgot to add that on the night. Now you mention it, it actually isn't as easy to add a poll to the episode threads under the new system. I had to create a new thread and merge it back into this one. Anyway, the poll is up now. :)

I had one more laugh during the episode... Penny saying leonard was the love of her life and her best friend..... seriously...... she hardly tells him anything......

of course her bored and completely uninterested looks, behavaior and comments made it look otherwise..

and ofcourse there was the comment about how poor leonard is in the sack..... its like the writers cannot stop emphasizing it.....lol

Totally agree with you about the wedding with Penny's commitment issues the only way for them to get married was to go ahead and do it. This way Leonard did not have deal with his dysfunctional family who would ruin the moment for them and they did not have deal with Sheldon who was upset over Amy breaking up with him. The two people who should be there were I just wish they would have dealt with the kissing issue before the cermony

and we did not have to see them exchanging rings and say I do too.....lol

I'm not sure why anyone would watch a show to continually ridicule certain characters. I have been critical of characters on the show but not every one of my posts.

Maybe that's not the reason to watch the show, but a result of the quality of said show...

I still wish they (Lenny) get a better wedding than that. After 8 seasons.... srsly??? I still find their moments cute, heheee~

I think it would be cute if their friends decide to throw them a sort of a do-over, just to smooth things over.  I know they're doing the girl/boy separate bachelor party thing in an upcoming episode, but it would be great if they finally decided to do like they did with the prom episode and have them all get dressed up and have a party or a reception or something.

Even so, I still enjoyed their wedding and it seemed very "them" to me.  I watched the episode again last night and I still really enjoyed it all.

If I remember well, in one of his recent interview, somebody asked Molaro about a more "formal" wedding, and he said they were happy with the one they had and there's "no immediate plan" for a new one...

I rewatched the episode last night and specifically paid attention to Penny's facial expressions.

I don't know how you read faces, but to me, she did not look at all bored at any point.  She looked delighted, moved, and touched, both while she was listening to Leonard's vows and while she was reciting her own.

Before the ceremony, when they were waiting their turn, I don't think she looked bored there, either.

Yeah but was that before or after all the negative fan reviews on Facebook and Twitter?  I can see them changing their minds and doing an episode like that to kinda "make-up" for it since a lot of fans didn't seem to like it and felt cheated out of it.

Maybe you are right...I read some comments on FB, most of them were really bad!

I don't know how u read faces but for me it was clear from the first viewing itself that penny looked bored uninterested , with forced smiles and looked like she didn't want to be there at all

I don't know that they're inclined to react to fan rantings, unless it's to underscore the no-shenny stance. :icon_razz:

I think you're the only one I've seen with that interpretation.  To me she looks perfectly happy.

Were you expecting her to swoon or jump up and down like a giddy schoolgirl?  Most women don't act like that on their wedding day.

I agree with you vasu.   Right at the opening scene, I got the impression that Penny was all nonchalant about the whole thing.    She really didn't care about the package that Leonard asked her to help him pick.

She told Amy that what they were doing was nothing special, although I do believe she said that for Amy's benefit.

I think perhaps she was still thinking about Leonard's revelation, and unfortunately it was not the happiest day of her life.

Nonetheless, their wedding was beautiful.   I loved Leonard making his own vows and Penny making him cry with the borrow from Toy Story.

Her mood seemed to pick up during and after the wedding until Leonard killed it in the bed.   Talk about Sheldon saying the inappropriate thing at the wrong time, I think in this area, Leonard has his buddy beat.

I think she looked a little worried and pensive at the beginning, when she still had a lot on her mind, and while they were waiting for their turn.  She was still thinking about the conversation in the car and perhaps a little worried if they were doing the right thing in being so impulsive.

I do think the "nothing special" line was to placate Amy about missing the wedding--they weren't doing anything elaborate that Amy would miss out on, like getting to be a bridesmaid--but that didn't mean that she wasn't interested and even delighted in what was happening.

and even at the end of the wedding we see her jumping up and down screaming "WE DID IT" at the camera.

most of the time those comments from Facebook users are really bad anyways.

Thank you!

I think that FB fans (and IG and Twitter) are often of that type who get more joy out of hating everything than out of actually watching the show.  These are often the sort who gripe about Penny's hair every week, thinking that they're somehow going to force Kaley to grow her hair long again because "THE FANS DEMAND IT!!!!"

Social media makes people think they have the write to gripe in public and they think they have all this power.
