Awards shows in general mean nothing. It seems to me the People's Choice awards would mean more because it's what fans like. The emmy's, the Sag's, or the critics choice awards are based on what a few people think. as you mentioned Jeffrey tambor ( the guy in the cable company ad?) Winning all those awards that's yours and a small percentage of people's opinion. In regards to Mayim and Kaley I could make this assumption like you would for a sports athlete. You pay the best player the most money. Who's getting paid more on the show?

Look it is just my personal opinion, I am entitled to that. While Mayim is technically a better actor. Kaley's comedic timing is second to none.

You keep wittering on about "comic timing" and someone being a "technically" better actor than someone else, but it's all very vague and nondescript. Can you please define the terms you are using?

You are correct this is a comedy but the award is not 'funniest' actor/actress.

True, and I think we can see who's better by looking at some unfunny scenes as well as at funny ones. Consider the season 8 finale where Penny and Leonard are driving to Las Vegas to marry and Leonard chooses this moment to tell Penny about his shipboard snog. Penny's reaction is beautifully acted. It's clear that she's hurt and angry, but she doesn't lose control. She keeps it together and neither hides nor gives way to her feelings. To show feelings kept under control as powerfully as KC does is IMO very fine acting. Penny keeping her hurt under control is very sad precisely because she controls it. Personally I didn't want sad but evidently that's what the creators decided to give us and KC does a beautifully controlled job.

I contrast Amy must be much easier to act because she has no self-control (and therefore no dignity). Her reactions are uncontrolled and have no complexity so very crude acting will do. When Amy's unhappy her face assumes an expression of unmodulated misery or sullen anger - her range cof expressions is pretty coarse. In the season 7 finale she just lets go and starts hitting Leonard with a cushion. Surely not much acting ability is required to act a character who always goes to extremes?

I probably wouldn't have been quite as harsh on Mayim/Amy's acting abilities but I get your general point. Her expression in the car is not the first time people have seen that. A comparison might be DWTS this season when Bindi kept crying over her father's death. The first couple times it was touching but after that enough was enough. You also got consider some people who post on here though. One was impressed by how Amy was holding the steering wheel. Do they give out Emmys  for that?
