When I said Betty White I didn't mean her in particular(hence Betty White type)  but people were expecting a sweet old short  plump lady to be playing Sheldon Grandma.

I see. I thought you were referring to what comes out of her mouth.

Meemaw came across alot more empathetic in the episode than the TR seemed to imply. AND Meemaw was at least willing to hear Amy out. I liked that we got some background on how Constance's husband (much like Sheldon) was far from a walk in the park.

Love Howardette's new kitchen, I'm impressed Bernadette was able to get Howard to budge on THAT MUCH remodeling.  Also love how Howardette playfully tease Raj about his relationship with Emily.

Not sure about that one. Why let Amy know about the ring? Think it's better when it's a surprise. Not sure how I feel about Meemaw. Although I can understand her sticking up for Sheldon, she has to have a clue of how difficult he can be. She was awful harsh with Amy. Don't like the Raj storyline. Why another girl, after they seemed to tone down Emily this season? Just starting to like Emily. Lenny was cute, in the background, but at least arm in arm. Also wish Sheldon would say something nice about Leonard for once. He once again belittled his supposed best friend's job. Let's just say I expected more from this episode.

That is really not how I expected Meemaw to be, the way she was almost described in the show as almost a saint, I expected her to be wiser and sort of have this great insight about Shamy and actually advise Amy on how to get more into Sheldon's head.

I was disappointed in this episode only because I found more to dislike than like.

1.  Raj was annoying as all get out.   For once, I actually liked Howardette better than any of the other pairings.   I loved they worked together as a team to try to reason with Raj on his behavior.

2.  I loved the sweet Meemaw who corrected Sheldon's behavior toward Leonard at the airport but then hated how she failed to follow her own advice with the way she addressed Amy and attempted to enable Sheldon's childish behavior.

3.  I hate that Sheldon always has to act like a child and be prompted by Lenny to do the right thing.

4.  I can't stand the way Amy continues to remind everyone how difficult Sheldon is to put up with and refers to herself as his best shot.    I still don't understand why she wanted back in the relationship at status quo.   I'd rather her say it's because she loves and wants to be with him rather than because she's being some kind of martyr by being his girlfriend.

5.   I'm tired of seeing Lenny in the background.    I want to see more positive and funny Lenny, rather than Sheldon-support Lenny.

6.   I did enjoy seeing Sheldon's genuine disappointment about the ring being revealed to Amy and the virginity line at the end, mainly his staring into Amy's eyes recognizing she was hinting at wanting the engagement ring.

7.  I was happy to see Meemaw smiling at the end, which seemed she was at ease with Amy and Sheldon being together.

8.  I'm glad to hear Mary's is in support of Sheldon proposing to Amy and looking forward to welcoming Amy as a daughter-in-law.

To be fair, meemaw's description through the years came through Sheldon, and I wouldn't call him the most objective witness when it comes to him describing someone HONESTLY.

While the show had some laughs overall not a good episode, especially for Sheldon and Raj. Lenny saved Sheldon' ass but to me it would have been more effective if Amy stormed off and letting Sheldon fix things. Seemed a bit strange  to have Meemaw wanting Shamy to be broken up and then okay about Sheldon proposing to Amy. As usual the writers making things easy for Sheldon.  In regards to Raj how dumb can you be? It was obvious Claire's only intention was to get help with her story. Any attention from a woman he suddenly think's he's a stud. Then he dreams he's married to her with a child. Claire was cute but IMO not any cuter than Emily. This can't possibly end well for Raj.

2.  Meemaw's not allowed to be a hypocrite and/or have flaws that makes her imperfect as a character?

4. Because she realized what she really wanted from a relationship (the simple things that made them shine as seen in the Platonic Permutation).  But that's just my take.

Lots of people would prefer the former to the later, some would prefer life to be conflict free.  But I think her words can easily be written off to Amy being defensive.  We as people don't always say the right things when we feel we are backed into a corner.  But that's just my take on it.

Very mediocre filler episode. Since when is a bitchy meemaw with an alcohol problem good comedy? Come on, Chuck. To not be bored out of my mind I started to analyze the Feynman diagrams shown in Sheldon's appartment for correctness. Two gamma rays forming a higgs boson from a top quark loop, plus the inverse process, sounds about right. Also on Penny's fridge top left, is that producer Steven Molaro in the photo? And did anyone ever notice the wrong numbering on the mailboxes? 1A..1B..1C..1D....4A..4B..4C..4D in what universe does that add up with the building shown in this series? Missing 5A/5B for starters. Remember the dead hooker juxtaposition... I think the studio should just fire one of the older writers to give the others an incentive to try harder. Runtime was 19 minutes, counting everything without the ads. There were times when content was 21.5 minutes.

Maybe those apartments are in another mailbox.  My apartment complex doesn't have every apartment mailbox located in just one area.

Since this is TBBT one could probably count on Meemaw have some unexpected aspects to her personality rather than the stereotypical grandma.

I think the it would be interesting to see Raj help a si-fi writer. More interesting than a dermatologist. His infatuation seems typical for him. He is his own worst enemy.

Well...I have to say this really missed the boat in so many ways.   First off I agree with whoever posted above that Leonard and Penny need to be living in a separate location from Sheldon.   They really should have their own story and not have their only story be about how to parent Sheldon.   Tonight's episode screamed that they were in the wrong story and that they need their own story.  I have no issue with them interacting with Sheldon and Amy, etc. but it was blatantly obvious that the writers have no idea what to write for them so they placed them awkwardly in this story.  They deserve their own story and should have their own arc.

Second, we spent the first half of the season focused on the breakup so that Sheldon would grow, yet here he is reverting back as if no growth.  It was so annoying!   When he saw his Meemaw starting to snark at Amy, he should have immediately set her straight and told her, respectfully, of course, that they both grew from the experience.  He had just told Amy he knew he had grown from the breakup and then acts like she was the one that needed to grown in this one? And he had to be prompted by Lenny to stand up with Amy and admit that the breakup was good for growth?   What happened to the Sheldon that had admitted to Amy that he was glad they broke up and got back together because it made them stronger?

The most annoying thing of all was FINALLY when Amy and Meemaw were starting to relate when Meemaw revealed about Pop-Pop being a difficult man to live with, they were interrupted before they could finish.  I so wanted to see them resolve this between them before the interruption even.   Especially since the interruption by Sheldon was so disappointing.   It wasn't on his own merit that he interrupted, but because he was pushed by Penny to do it.   That was a definite FAIL in this episode.

I also felt that Meemaw had very little warmth, even toward Sheldon and Leonard, etc.   She was friendly yes, but she was nothing like Sheldon has been describing for years.   I just believe the writers set an expectation in the heads of fans for years and suddenly gave us nothing at all like what they built in the past.  Instead they wanted to try and reveal about the ring to Amy via Meemaw, and Molaro got his wish to have Meemaw not like Amy,  and it was clear that it was all done to be the big reveal and to have Meemaw have a reason to dislike Amy,  instead of making sure it matched past descriptions that they themselves built about the woman.   It is really poor writing when you make it so glaringly obvious that the reason you are violating your historical character development in favor of telling a short-term story.   That is exactly what happened here.   Ugh...just ugh.

Overall, I wish they had never introduced Meemaw on the show rather than have given us this episode.   I know we all looked forward to meeting her, but not like this.

I also disliked Raj's story in this.   I found his flip flopping and crushing on a girl that was not encouraging him in the slightest was annoying.   Howardette were the couple of the episode.   They showed a lot of wisdom.

Honestly, I can't say I laughed once and I found the whole episode just  disappointing.  It missed the boat and I hope that they get back on track because they had been doing some better writing and this one just wasn't of the same caliber.

So this is a filler ep? Haven't they all Been for a few seasons now. Ill hold judgement until I see it. S9 hs been very good up until now.

No, I don't see it as a filler episode, for whatever that means, but I do think it was a disappointing episode.   I think it definitely had some movement and served a purpose so therefore was far from filler.   I mean you had Raj questioning whether Emily was the right one for him and you had Amy learn about the engagement ring and Sheldon's plans to commit to her, so yes, there was a lot of forward movement.  But the execution of it was disappointing to me.

Agree...sometimes letting imagination create the image in a mind is best...just like Mrs. Wolowitz, Maris on Frasier, etc.   I am glad we never saw them...it was far more fun imagining them.

I couldn't believe how muddled and disjointed the whole MeeMaw  part of the show was.  The Howardette & Raj part seemed so much better written and acted.  I was very disappointed in this episode, and had I so looked foreword to it.
