I wonder if this is going anywhere eventually. Yeah sure. I didn't see it that way at all and I'm sure it wasn't meant to be seen that way either. Stephen Hawking
If Amy wasn't Penny's friend, why would Penny hang Amy's painting (and come up with an explanation for removing it), rather than simply tell her it''s hideous? Also, from the same episode:- Penny: Look, look, Amy, all you need to know is, you are my friend and I don’t want to lose you out of my life. Amy was the reason I started watching, and the main reason I'm still watching. Amy was the reason really? Lol. Sorry not laughing at you, but that is ironical. Because alot of people tuned out of the show moment her character was introduced. I like Amy, so she diddn't put me off the show. But I guess I have been watching since the pilot. So I diddn't watch for one character, well maybe Penny . 4 hours ago, JohnPhD said: Penny doesn't realise Amy is not her friend. This is a defect of Penny's understanding. There is no data for this, skull's statement is just flat out wrong. TBBT suffered a drop in season four (after her introduction in the tag), mostly due to it's move to Thursday, a night CBS, traditionally did not have sit-coms. American Idol was still bigger than anything else at the time, which cut into viewership. Since season four, every season has had more viewers than season three. I have no idea where skull get's this claim.

There is a piece of tape out their with Judd Hirsch describing his meeting Johnny (when Johnny asked him to play his father). What Hirsch described, was Johnny fidgeting, moving his feet, he kept looking around, not at Hirsch, and as a result, some of what Johnny said was hard to hear. Hirsch's description of Johnny, and the way he acted out Johnny's talking to him, sounded a lot like Leonard. 11 hours ago, April said: ...because girls have cooties or something. Amy's idea of friendship is purely possessive; she wants to claim Penny as her "bestie" but does not care for her (or anyone, except debatably Sheldon). Penny should judge from Amy's actions. Do I need to spell this out: in the scene I referred to, Penny was trying to bond withBeverly, but Beverly showed more intrest in Amy and Bernadette. Bernadette kept trying to bring Beverly's attention to Penny (showing she was Penny's friend) whereas Amy just lapped it up (showing she wasn't). It was established long ago that that hideous painting was more an act of aggression than of real friendship.
