I actually hope S10 is less Relationship Centric. But maybe that ship has sailed. WE the couples are together. Just for the next two years just do nothing but light hearted, fluffy comedy. Then last episode you can be all relationship you want.

We don't need as much relationship focus now that half the major characters are married and one more pretty much paired off, but I wouldn't want to see it entirely dispensed with. There's plenty of humour left to exploit there. It would have looked strange and unrealistic if over nine years these people hadn't grown up and found their spouses. That meant relationship developments were important, even essential, to the storylines. We're already seeing more science now but in order to keep our people in character we're going to need to see them at home and also continuing to interact with one another.

There's still the Shamy marriage to come and the solution to whatever Raj's issues are.

Well that is dependant on if Shamy get married. They may make them a gray area in the series finalie, don't shoot me just throwing it out their lol. I definately think The Major Plot in Series Final well be Penny giving birth. Might see her in Labour and Leonard helping her through it. Although that may copy Friends but be it. I am fine with the characters being in relationships and married. In Lenny's case it was the whole initial premise. It's just most of the stories are driven through it. Be nice to get Scavenger Hunt type episodes every now and then.

I'd expect the unexpected.

And I Would unexpect the expected :D

Yes. Don't expect the bows to be tied and the ends neatened at all, through or at the end of the next season. I just saw the last Castle episode and my expectations of any show's finale outings are now out the window and still falling. TBBT may equally have such a rapid denouement. I think the message I took from that experience is that it's all about the journey - not the destination. There is likely no payoff at the end, but the management will pleased that you stayed onboard. I just hope that s10 can be a bit more rewarding to sit through than s9. Faint hope. Probs not buying the series - maybe just any (subjectively) good episodes.

Let's put it this way in terms of shock value, they well NEVER do anything as bad as the S4 finalie. The whole you know lol. So compared to that its smooth sailing to the series final. S9 finaie should be every episode, all that other crap (Dream Sequences) e.t.c., needs to end.

Ah, yes. But I am one of the few who enjoyed the shock, at the time. I was intensely curious how they were going to unscramble that egg. It's the delayed adolescence that we have now that gives me ongoing dyspepsia. And the whiny GB getting his own way all the frakking time. Maybe s10 will end with the Hofstadters holding down that pillow as they have discussed. At least in a dream sequence - that they share. lol.

That's why we get along so well.  Well, that and scotch.

This is not at mainstream source and there info is extremely flawed.

That's what we are thinking but could it really be done... writing out two of the main three? I think it would be a disaster myself but they could carry on with Howardette and Shamy.

Not going to happen.

Probably not… but it would lower costs and allow them to keep producing the show. The biggest problem right now is the rising cost of new seasons. If they want to go beyond 10 it would make sense to write out the couple whose story is complete. I’m thinking practically, not personally. It wouldn't be the same but its not impossible to do.

Kaley's said multiple times she will continue as long as they will have her.  I can't see her leaving.  Johnny, however, has been strangely quiet about staying and the end of the contract.

Yes and I really don't want Kaley to go but isn't Johnny always quiet?

My guess is there is at least a season 11. Beyond that I'd guess it may depend on negotiations.  Perhaps they will cut costs in season 12 by replacing Howard, Burnadeatte and Raj with younger actors who will be happy with a lot less money. To keep it going there might have to be some turnover.

If you are talking about the information in the article you quoted,  I think it's highly unreliable; for example it states the show will start on October 27th, which is false, at the Upfronts last month it has been already announced that the show will start on Mondays and then it will move on Thursdays ( October 27th is a Thursday) after some sport event ends. So I'm inclined in not believing also to the "rumor" they quoted in it.

If you are speaking about the possibility some actors quit after Season 10 by their own volition or to reduce production costs, I don't think it will happen in a possible S. 11. When the main 5 signed their last contracts, they also signed an option on S. 11; if WB/CBS want a S.11, the actors are contractually obliged to do it (I guess they can quit, but the penalties should be pretty high) at the same salary they earn in S. 10. Most likely, also Mayim and Melissa have updated their contracts with the same option. So, IMO, up to S. 11 everything should be already fixed. I think they haven't announced the new season just yet because there are negotiations going on for a new multi-years deal, and I guess theoretically everything is possible with those negotiations. But I don't know if cutting two of the main characters could be a good idea, it will reduce the costs for sure, but it could also reduce the audience and hence the profit of the show.

Could? There are certainly people who wouldn't care, if Lenny were not on board anymore, but for me TBBT without Lenny isn't TBBT. They are an indispensable and irreplaceable part of the show. Without Lenny the show were over...at least for me.

There's a lot of speculation because all we know right now is that Season 10 could be the last and that speculation is only going to increase until we hear something more concrete.

I don't know if an actor deep down wants out or not but almost everything we have heard from the actors in terms of direct quotes says they want to continue. It's possible they might think something different privately.

If one of the actors wants out after Season 10 then I think it's likely they will just end the show or maybe agree to do a couple of episodes to tie everything up.

TBBT is Chuck's big money maker now I think he would try to keep it going, how much success he would have is probably dependant on who left.

Could the show continue without much change. if Raj left, yes if Leonard or Penny left, no
