I was going to ask about it,wondering if it might be an American thing. I've only ever seen these big nurseries on U.S. TV. In our local hospital at least, they've not had a nursery since the place was built 20 years or more ago. It makes things awkward for the midwives though, because they have to keep the babies from Hell in their office. Last I heard, they were going to enclose an area. Nurseries were only ever used as a last resort anyway, when there was a good reason for not having babies with their mothers. I was visiting a friend in the old hospital 34 years ago when a paediatrician came to her bed and took her two little ones away. I went with them because the doc said these tests were distressing for mothers to watch. They were in that nursery for all of five minutes. Generations ago, hospital births were only for complicated cases so a nursery might have been appropriate. Personally I've never seen one with more than four cots in and most of the time they were empty. I suppose they set this one up so Raj could have his funny line about recognising Halley by her yell. A newborn yelling should be with her mother or otherwise attended to. I don't know how I'll feel watching that. Two hours to go. Finding things to keep busy so the time will pass. That big window looks so 1960s baby boom. Babies are usually kept with the mother as much as possible in recent times. At least that was the case with our four in the 90s. My wife was a big supporter of La Leche League.
vonmar Posted December 16, 2016 Posted December 16, 2016 From The Hollywood Reporter 'Big Bang Theory': The Unexpected Way Howard and Bernadette's Baby Honors Carol Ann Susi Showrunner Steve Molaro talks with THR about the special arrival and how 'Better Things' star Pamela Adlon plays into the story. Howard and Bernadette's bundle of joy has arrived on CBS' The Big Bang Theory. During the Chuck Lorre/Bill Prady/Steve Molaro comedy's final episode of 2016, the gang celebrated two lives, the arrival of Baby Wolowitz, who wound up being born on Amy's (Mayim Bialik) birthday. The nerdy comedy bypassed the traditional delivery room scene in favor of an episode that focused on Amy and Sheldon's (Jim Parsons) attempts to have birthday coitus as well as a similar struggle for Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and Penny (Kaley Cuoco). But the real star of the episode was Baby Wolowitz, who it turns out was a girl — spoiled for everyone by an overbearing Raj (Kunal Nayyar). The episode featured a few sweet callbacks to the pilot and Howard's late mother (the beloved Carol Ann Susi) as well as a moment of reflection as the gang paused to marvel at each of their own personal growth. Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) was able to get in one final impersonation of her late mother-in-law, while the baby, named Halley — after the comet — inherited her grandmother's vocal range with a special cry voiced by Better Things star Pamela Adlon. THR caught up with showrunner Molaro to preview Howard (Simon Helberg) and Bernadette's bumpy road ahead, how much of Adlon viewers will get to hear (or see) as well as how a baby will impact the group dynamic. vonmar Posted December 16, 2016 Posted December 16, 2016 From Glamour The Big Bang Theory Season 10 Episode 11 Winter Finale Recap: Bernadette Gives Birth on "The Birthday Synchronicity" The first Big Bang Theory baby is here! Bernadette and Howard Wolowitz welcomed baby girl Halley (after the comet) in tonight's epic winter finale. To be fair to Penny, she didn't remember Amy's birthday in tonight's episode either. Last year, I believe she was the one who reminded Sheldon. It just seems to be a part of her personality to be absent-minded of such things.

john2p Posted December 16, 2016 Posted December 16, 2016 (edited) I have said it in this evenings episode thread, but write it again: I liked tonight´s episode. I really laughed a lot with the Shamy and Howardette. And my Lenny´s, well Penny was on fire with her one liners. I loved it. And I really understand her future complaints about Leonards lack of efforts to keep the passion going on. C`m on man, do a little sports, so you don´t need the inhaler before sex. Everyone knows you can do something against asthma: yoga, sports, relaxation programs, breathing exercises. I still don´t know if an agreement is needed. But I remember that Sheldon did mention earlier on a sideline in season 8 that Penny tries more to stay attractive in their relationship than Leonard does. Maybe all those other mentioned lines (how come you don´t eat broccoli and the answer of Leonard) together it does makes sense, Penny is unsatisfied. Anyhow to me it was a great episode. And that crying was an outstanding tribute to Ms. Wolowitz. First time since a long time I almost peed of laughing. Have they all been made now, freeing up Laura Spencer ? I used to like her messages and photos. She seemed so happy to be on the BBT set. I hope she comes back. Sheldon told Emily they all thought she 'could do better than Koothrapalli'. No doubt she could. So what ? Amy could do better than Sheldon, at least Sheldon the way he used to be, but chose not to. 'Better' can be so boring. I'd like to see what happens to Emly regardless of whether or not she makes it up with Raj. Yes they filmed the final episode this week, though the season 12 won't start airing until January 4 hours ago, vonmar said: From Glamour The Big Bang Theory Season 10 Episode 11 Winter Finale Recap: Bernadette Gives Birth on "The Birthday Synchronicity" The first Big Bang Theory baby is here! 3ku11 Posted December 16, 2016 Posted December 16, 2016 I don't think Penny forgetting things, like Leonard's birthday. Considering part of her character is being absent minded. Means she does not put investment into her marrage. They are both guilty. Leonard plays video games in his underwear. His comment about not needing to be attractive he is married. Kinda gives an insight into how complacent Leonard has become. Penny had a dream, and maybe it was an ephiphany. So I agree, Penny is wrong about Leonard. So she overreacted, as Leonard did too. They tend to do that. Then again taping reports are so vague. That is why I never read them. The Relationship Agreement for Lenny, possibly the most absurd idea the writers of this show has ever come up with. But putting that rubbish aside. It should lead to them going on date nights. So you know it could work out. Unless the writers then suddenly drop it. And act like it never happened. We know what this show is with continuity. Tonights episode Lenny seemed very happy and content. I Think they are generally. But Penny may want more.

It is a Chronic disease that has to be managed by medicines to prevent serious consequences. Leonerd will be taking a dose of a preventer inhaler every day to ease inflammation of the airways, the inhaler he uses with Penny will be a reliever and it's a good idea to use it before any physical exercise, having a full on asthma attack during sex would be even more of a turn off. The writers often do cock things up, but on this one it mirrors my own situation too closely for comfort, in fact if my wife throws me my salbutamol inhaler I know it's my lucky night. djsurrey Posted December 16, 2016 Posted December 16, 2016 I was busy so I'll see it sometime on VOD. I'm in no hurry for this one and it is a long time before the next one so I'll just watch whenever. No Rogue one tie in. Big yawn. Kind of missed the boat this time. It could have motivated Penny's displeasure too.

I was apprently wrong about my opinion. I need to apologize. But I wasn't to suppose to say he can heal by it, though I have heard from some people who had some asthma they actually grew over it. A human body still has many mystifications and secrets. There will be some degrees in the disease, I think. But can you tell, is there other than medication, anything you can't do to influence the symptoms? So, not healing, but maybe that the symptoms can be better under control? So, not healing, but maybe that the symptoms can be better under control? It's difficult, it can be hereditary which I think it's supposed to be in Leonard's case, or can be triggered by exposure to certain influences, pollens, tobacco smoke, or in my case chemicals ((specifically) isocyanates, later in life. some who are born with it can lose sensitivity to the triggers so it gets easier, but there is always a risk as specifically it's inflammation of the air ways that causes them to constrict thus difficulty breathing. Mine is well managed by a twice daily Preventer inhaler but I do have to carry the Reliever with me at all times, in fact I have them dotted around everywhere in the house, plus one on my person, one my car, one in my wife's car and bag. This is probably why I relate to Leonard so much, it's relatively accurate, even his counting (should be 10 seconds). Works immediately but gets better over the next 20 to 30 minutes. Yep in Recombination their 25 - 30 minutes was relevant. Actualy it's this kind of accuracy on these things that I liked about the show, which is why inconsistencies irk me so much nowadays.
